Igamane has already agreed on personal terms with Lille and made clear his intention to leave. LOSC president Olivier Létang has confirmed the club's interest in the player.
Since joining Rangers on a five-year deal last summer, Igamane has impressed with 16 goals and three assists in 46 appearances during the 2024–25 season, earning double honours at the club's awards night.
His breakout season has attracted interest from several European clubs, including Sevilla, Marseille, and Everton. Tags: AS FAREvertonigamaneLilleRangers

2025 Marhaba Operation Experiences 'Unprecedented' Crowds
The 2025 Marhaba operation is experiencing "unprecedented" crowds, with more than 2,7 millions of Moroccan expatriates crossing the borders since June, confirming "the diaspora's loyalty" and "the tourism boom," said the French radio station "Beur FM." "The numbers speak for themselves: between June 10 and August 4, 2025, nearly 2.8 million Moroccan expatriates returned to Morocco, an increase of more than 10% in comparison with the previous year,' the radio station pointed out in an article on its website entitled 'A summer record for the Moroccan diaspora and tourism in Morocco!'. The Marhaba operation has thus been a "success," the publication pointed out, adding that this momentum coincides with a particularly 'promising' month of July for Moroccan tourism, which has seen 11.6 million visitors in just seven months. In just under two months, nearly 2.8 million Moroccan expatriates arrived in the country, 10.37% more than last year, the article stated, stressing that 338,360 vehicles crossed the border, an increase of 3.74%. The Tanger Med port remains the primary point of entry for Moroccan expatriates, with 555,753 passengers and 175,808 vehicles, representing 35.87% of total arrivals by sea and land. Meanwhile, Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca holds the first rank for air transport with 320,395 passengers, representing a quarter of arrivals by plane. The Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity teams, deployed at border crossings and rest areas, carried out 45,465 interventions, including 2,858 medical interventions, according to the article. The return phase is already mobilizing the same human and logistical resources, in coordination with the operation's partners, to ensure fluidity and safety, the radio station added. The same source pointed out that port authorities, together with the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN), Customs and local authorities, have put in place 'fast-track procedures' to reduce delays at borders and customs. "This progress is part of the 2023-2026 strategy, which aims to diversify markets, strengthen infrastructure, and enrich the tourism offering," the publication concluded. (MAP: 12 August 2025)

Historic Submarine Cable to Connect Morocco and Canary Islands by 2028
Marrakech – A groundbreaking submarine fiber optic cable project will soon create a vital digital link between Morocco and Spain's Canary Islands, positioning the archipelago as a strategic telecommunications hub in the Atlantic. The initiative, set to begin installation in late 2025, represents a major advancement in Europe-Africa connectivity. The project is led by Spanish company Islalink in partnership with Canalink, an operator linked to the Tenerife Council and the Technological Institute for Renewable Energy (ITER), according to Okdiario. Strengthening Europe-Africa digital connectivity The planned route will start at the port of Arinaga (Gran Canaria), pass through Gran Tarajal (Fuerteventura), and reach the Moroccan coast, likely at Tarfaya or Boujdour. With an estimated budget of €49 million, the project has secured €20 million from the European Investment Bank (BEI). The initial phase has already received €7.5 million from European funds for studies and design, as noted by National Geographic España. Construction will span approximately 42 months, with the cable expected to be operational by 2028, Okdiario reports. The initiative is part of the European Connecting Europe Facility (CEF-Digital) program, which aims to improve digital cohesion, strengthen cybersecurity, and increase data exchange capacity between continents. From a technical perspective, this submarine cable is a complex structure composed of ultrathin glass fibers covered with insulation layers, metal protection, and coatings designed to withstand abyssal pressures, ocean currents, and marine life curiosity. Each fiber carries modulated light pulses that can support combined traffic of voice, video, financial data, and scientific applications, according to National Geographic España. The cable will expand the Canary Islands' international connection map, which already includes systems like ACE (Africa Coast to Europe), WACS (West African Cable System), and 2Africa. This integration strengthens the islands' position in global telecommunications networks. A critical advantage of this new connection is redundancy. In telecommunications, this means that if one connection is interrupted by a technical failure or unforeseen event, the network can reroute traffic without affecting users – essential for an island territory like the Canaries. The project also aligns with broader technological initiatives, including the Alisios satellite constellation, a space control teleport, expansion of the ITER supercomputer, and creation of new technology spaces in Tenerife. Perplexing media coverage in Spain Yet it comes as Spanish media outlets continue their deliberately misleading and politically motivated coverage regarding Morocco's southern provinces. These publications shamelessly characterize the cable route as 'controversial' and falsely claim it enters 'disputed waters,' blatantly ignoring Madrid's own official position. The central Spanish government, led by Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, formally endorsed Morocco's Autonomy Plan in April 2022 as the most credible, serious, and realistic framework to resolve the artificial regional dispute. The move was welcomed by regional governments, including the Canary Islands under President Fernando Clavijo Batlle. These outdated and biased Spanish media narratives fly in the face of growing international recognition of Morocco's sovereignty, with major French and American corporations having established substantial investments worth billions in the region's infrastructure, renewable energy, and phosphate industries. Such investments would be impossible in a genuinely 'disputed' territory, exposing the hollow nature of these Spanish publications' claims. For Morocco and the Canary Islands, this submarine cable promises to strengthen data traffic between West Africa and Europe, improve internet quality and speed, and promote the establishment of data centers and technological infrastructure in the region, ultimately creating a new digital bridge across the Atlantic. CAF Denounces Security Breaches During Kenya-Morocco CHAN 2024 Match
Marrakech – The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has expressed serious concerns about security failures at Kasarani Stadium during Kenya's matches in the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), particularly following incidents that occurred during the Kenya-Morocco fixture on Sunday. In an official letter addressed to the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) in Kenya, CAF condemned the persistent security breaches observed during matches involving the Kenyan national team. The continental governing body specifically referenced serious incidents that took place during the Kenya-Morocco match played on Sunday. Morocco began their quest for a third CHAN title with a solid 2-0 victory over Angola in the Group A opener at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi on August 3. However, their momentum was halted by the defeat to Kenya a week later. Among the reported incidents were a broken access door, spectators entering without tickets, attendance exceeding the stadium's regulatory capacity of 48,000, and unauthorized entry into areas reserved for media. CAF has referred these security failures to the appropriate authorities for investigation and appropriate measures. The organization has also initiated discussions with the LOC and the Kenyan government to ensure strict compliance with CAF regulations, particularly those related to security protocols. The match, which Kenya won 1-0, took place in a tense atmosphere, raising questions about security management throughout the competition. Kasarani Stadium, where these events occurred, is scheduled to host the tournament final on August 30 in a competition co-organized by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. On the sporting front, Morocco suffered its first defeat in the tournament against host nation Kenya. The Atlas Lions now find themselves obligated to win their next two matches to qualify for the second round, starting with their upcoming fixture against Zambia on Thursday. Despite entering the tournament as favorites, coach Tarik Sektioui's team struggled to convert their technical superiority into goals. After a promising start in the first fifteen minutes, Morocco's momentum was disrupted when striker Ayoub Mouloua sustained an injury that forced his substitution. Kenya's Rayan Ogam capitalized on a defensive lapse to score with a powerful, well-placed shot in the 42nd minute, giving the home side the advantage. Kenya played most of the second half with ten men following Christine Erambo's logical expulsion for a bad foul just before halftime. Despite the numerical advantage and substitutions that reinvigorated their attack, Morocco failed to equalize. Saber Bougrine and Youssef Mehri provided fresh energy, but the Atlas Lions lacked precision in the final third. The Moroccan team will need to quickly regroup to avoid an early exit from the competition.
