The Maria star, 50, is officially planning to 'put the house up for sale' as she explores a move abroad, a source tells PEOPLE. Page Six was the first to report the news.
Jolie 'never wanted to live in L.A. full time. She didn't have a choice because of the custody arrangement with Brad,' continues the source, referring to the star's ex-husband Brad Pitt, 61.
The exes — who reached a divorce settlement in December 2024 after an eight-year legal battle — share six children: Maddox, 24, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 17.
The source adds that Jolie 'plans to relocate as soon as Knox and Viv turn 18 next year. She's eyeing several locations abroad. She'll be very happy when she's able to leave Los Angeles."
Of Jolie's Los Angeles home, the source notes, 'It's a historic masterpiece and truly such a beautiful estate.'
Another insider confirms that the Without Blood writer/director is planning on selling the home after she makes some minor improvements to it.

Jolie purchased the historic 1913-build in 2017 for $24.5 million, a source told PEOPLE at the time. The sprawling property boasts six bedrooms and ten bathrooms across 11,000 square feet.
Its Hollywood ties make it a one-of-a-kind property, as it was purchased by director Cecil B. DeMille for under $28,000 in 1916, PEOPLE previously reported. Charlie Chaplin also lived in a neighboring house, but after he moved out, DeMille purchased and combined the two estates.
Jolie previously opened up about why she's still living in Los Angeles despite her desire to leave, per a 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
The Academy Award winner, who filed for divorce from Pitt in September 2016 after two years of marriage, told the outlet at the time that she is currently in the city "because I have to be here from a divorce."
However, once her twins turn 18, Jolie said she's ready to live abroad full time as she seeks qualities that Los Angeles can't offer her or her children.
"When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety," she said at the time. "I have a house now to raise my children, but sometimes this place can be … that humanity that I found across the world is not what I grew up with here."

After she leaves L.A., she noted, "I'll spend a lot of time in Cambodia," which is where she adopted her oldest son Maddox in 2002. She added, "I'll spend time visiting my family members wherever they may be in the world.'
Jolie previously shared that Cambodia is the one place 'in my heart' that she considers her home during a conversation at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in February.

Matt Rife's Makeup Ad For E.L.F. Is Facing Major Backlash Because Of His Past Jokes About Domestic Abuse

A new ad campaign from cosmetics brand e.l.f. starring comedian Matt Rife was met with more hate than laughter as observers slammed the company for choosing a celebrity who joked about domestic violence to be the face of its product line. 'Is Matt Rife here to sell us concealer for black eyes from domestic violence?' read one comment with over 10,000 likes. In the ad, Rife plays fictional injury lawyer ' alongside partner 'Schmarnes,' depicted by drag performer Heidi N Closet. The commercial was an obvious reference to attorneys Cellino & Barnes, whose ads were often seen in the Tri-State Area during the 2000s. 'Hey, girl. Has over-priced beauty hurt your wallet?' Rife says in the parody. 'I know a thing or two about red flags. And pricey makeup? You deserve better than that.' Despite the ad's fun tone, e.l.f. fans were not having it. Viewers were quick to bring up misogynistic bits from the comedian's 2023 Netflix special Matt Rife: Natural Selection. At one point in the special, he joked about a woman receiving a black eye for not cooking well. Related: Following backlash at the time, the comedian offered a stale apology, then told a 6-year-old that the boy's mom bought his Christmas presents with money she earned from OnlyFans. The many commenters attacking the e.l.f. ad featuring Rife included some beauty influencers with massive followings: 'aaaaaaandddd you lost me... Matt Rife out of ALL people?' creator nikkietutorials said in a comment under e.l.f's TikTok video. Related: 'ELF IMMA HOLD UR HAND WHEN I SAY THIS…just cuz u got a drag QUEEN in the mix DOES NOT MEAN ITS A GREEN LIGHT FOR MATT RIFEEEGEE??!?,' @kristians_makeup said on Instagram. Many TikTok users posted their own videos expressing their disbelief over Rife's cameo. One called the ad campaign a 'slap in the face,' while another showed someone throwing out their e.l.f. products. @realreneellynn / Via That said, when Rife posted the ad on his own Instagram account, his fans praised him. Related: Rife's e.l.f. ad comes weeks after American Eagle faced scrutiny over its Sydney Sweeney jeans campaign, which some people said promoted white supremacy. Regardless of the original intent, American Eagle's campaign became a cultural debate as right-wingers and MAGA officials commended Sweeney and the ad. Related: Some questioned why Rife, who is not known for making beauty content, is featured in the commercial at all. Australian beauty influencer Jill Clark, who has hundreds of thousands of followers, said she is officially pulling her support for e.l.f., stating, 'I stand with women, period.' @jillie_clarkk / Via 'Did nobody sit there and say, 'Hey, in 2025, when there is an absolute epidemic of violence against women, let's not choose to have the face of our campaign be a man who jokes about domestic violence. Let's not platform Matt Rife,'' Clark said in a video garnering over 160,000 likes. This article originally appeared on HuffPost. Also in Celebrity: Also in Celebrity: Also in Celebrity:
