Bellotti's Hamburg soundscapes: A preview of his Jil Sander debut
Even before his official catwalk debut as creative director of Jil Sander, Bellotti has offered a first glimpse into his vision. Instead of a fashionable tour de force, the Italian fashion designer opted for an atmospheric video called "Wanderlust", which focused on music and the Hanseatic city of Hamburg.
Bellotti paid homage to the label's origins, returning to the place where Heidemarie Jiline "Jil" Sander opened her first boutique in 1968. The designer's decision to choose Hamburg and turn his back on Milan, at least for now, seems more than symbolic. It appears as a programmatic indication of how seriously he takes the house's DNA. In an industry where changes in creative leadership are often accompanied by great theatrical pathos, this debut seems almost decelerated but by no means powerless. On the contrary, the video seems like a quiet prelude with the potential for a long reverberation. Preview without fashion
For his first preview of his vision for Jil Sander, Bellotti not only decided against Milan, but also largely against fashion in the classic sense. Clothing took a backseat to a vision defined more by music and atmosphere. The video is accompanied by a previously unreleased track by the Italian composer Bochum Welt, whose real name is Gianluigi Di Costanzo. He is an artist with a German-sounding alias, whose music oscillates between technoid melancholy and intellectual electronica.
This choice hardly seems accidental. Rather, it suggests that this very field of tension – Germany and Italy, intellectualism and nostalgia – could also shape Bellotti's own signature. Jil Sander "Wanderlust" Credits: Jil Sander Jil Sander "Wanderlust" Credits: Jil Sander
Like the brand itself, the chosen music appears intellectual, minimalist and permeated with emotional undertones. These are qualities that correspond to both Hamburg's architecture and Jil Sander's purist approach.
The titles of the vinyl EP produced especially for this project – available in Jil Sander stores from August – also tell of inner tensions and contrasts: Crystal Ice; Wanderlust; Shades; Night's Frost; San Peder a Sent; More Light (Escape Mix); and Cresting Waves seem like sonic musings on day and night, standstill and movement, urbanity and nature. These are themes that could also shape Bellotti's debut collection. Jil Sander "Wanderlust" Credits: Jil Sander Jil Sander "Wanderlust" Credits: Jil Sander
The video itself also appears reduced, but rich in symbolism. Bellotti, who previously worked at Bally and had formative stints at Carol Christian Poell and Gianfranco Ferré, uses the return to Hamburg as more than just a historical reference. He signals a possible return to the source, not only geographically, but ideologically. Jil Sander has always stood for a special kind of rigour: the intellect of the Bauhaus, the restraint of German minimalism and the sensuality of androgyny. For Bellotti, this formula seems less a relic and more a blueprint to be further developed. Jil Sander "Wanderlust" Credits: Jil Sander Another creative upheaval for Jil Sander
What should benefit him is his experience in dealing with traditional brands. At the Swiss label Bally, founded in 1851, which he most recently led as creative director, he found subtle ways to incorporate Swiss folklore – from small cowbells to the legend of the Engadine mermaids – into his designs. He did this without alienating the brand known for its leather craftsmanship or losing his own signature.
His talent for embedding personal narratives even in the strictest brand architecture could also benefit him at Jil Sander. The challenge Bellotti now faces lies in the balance between respecting heritage and developing his own signature. Jil Sander is familiar with such creative transitions. Since the founder's first withdrawal in 2000, the house has experienced several changes of ownership and designers: from the Italian luxury group Prada to the fashion conglomerate OTB (Only The Brave), from the intellectual elegance of Raf Simons to the sophisticated craftsmanship of Luke and Lucie Meier.
Now it is up to Bellotti to grapple with the brand's deep roots in German design ideals. His first collection in September will show where his creative journey will take him. However, in Hamburg, much already pointed to the beginning of a new chapter. One without a radical break, but as a respectful further development. Blood, sweat and tears: Look back at the highs and lows of Hulk Hogan
Hulk Hogan, who has died at the age of 71, was the all-American hero of professional wrestling, with his combination of macho athleticism and larger-than-life showmanship playing a huge part as the sport exploded in popularity in the 1980s. Born Terry Gene Bollea, he started his career in Florida in the 1970s and reputedly gained the "Hulk" nickname after towering over The Incredible Hulk actor Lou Ferrigno on a local TV then became Hogan after joining the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) - whose owner Vince McMahon wanted a fighter with an Irish-sounding name. He also portrayed Starlight Starbright in Dolly Parton's variety show in 1987, with the country singer appearing as his superfan-turned-wife in a video for her song Headlock On My Heart. When Wrestlemania V was held at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in 1989, Hogan met the event's host - and would go on to endorse Donald as president. He forged a Hollywood career outside the ring in films including No Holds Barred, Suburban Commando, Mr Nanny (pictured) and Santa with Muscles. Back in the ring, he faced a new generation of wrestling stars in the 2000s, including Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in a match-up billed as "Icon vs Icon" at Wrestlemania X8."I'm in better shape than him," Hogan told Reuters, five months before his 50th birthday - but The Rock emerged victorious. John Cena felt the force of Hulk Hogan - or at least appeared to - when they presented together at the 2005 Teen Choice Awards. Hogan kept fighting as his fame continued to ride high even as the years marched on - pictured taking on fellow veteran Ric Flair in 2009. The storylines may often have been pre-written but the blood was total, Hogan won six WWF/WWE championships, headlined WrestleMania eight times, and was inducted twice into the WWE Hall of also enjoyed reality TV success in his own series, Hogan Knows Best, alongside his wife Linda and their two children from 2005-07. "Please forgive me," he said in a tearful interview with ABC's Good Morning America. "I'm a nice guy." In recent years, he divided opinion among fans as one of Donald Trump's most vocal celebrity supporters, endorsing him in his trademark theatrical style at events including the Republican National Convention one year ago, and a campaign rally at Madison Square Garden in New York in October (pictured).

Blush, Set, Go: Dua Lipa's Summer Beauty Look Decoded
'I'll have what she's having,' the nation sighs as they scroll through Dua Lipa's latest Instagram carousel of Palermo-based holiday snaps. Beaming, sun-kissed and (sort of) newly engaged, the singer is unwinding after a sellout Wembley stint and kicking back with fiancé Callum Turner. And while her yacht-based antics and Italian tour of dirty martinis and pasta haunts are vision board worthy, it's her beauty game that has social media in a spin. Dua has single-handedly set the beauty tone this summer, let's face it. This woman has a tried-and-tested formula that has seen her through stadium tours, front rows at fashion week and idyllic holidays abroad. So, what's her secret? Yes, this woman has success, yes this woman has stardom, yes this woman is loved up and living the life, but when it comes to her make-up look it's all edifyingly accessible. The blush, the lip liner, the nails. It's high time we broke it all down, in fact. Notepads at the ready... First up? Statement blush. It's out there, it's sexy. This isn't a subtle period drama wash of rosy-hued powder, this is an all-out, unapologetic flash of pink or coral that wraps from one cheek, up across the bridge of the nose to the other. It mimics the look of a deep sun flush. For a hyper-realistic finish make a play for Victoria Beckham's latest blush launch, a set of stains that deliver a punch of pigment alongside a second skin finish. 1. Victoria Beckham Colour Wash Blush Water Tint Victoria Beckham says: 'I love the healthy flush in my skin after a workout-Colour Wash creates this same rush of colour. The watercolour-like stain soaks into skin for a blush that looks like it's naturally coming from within. It's the flush you get after a fantastic laugh, a day in the sun… or any other invigorating reason cheeks might show a little colour. I can think of a few.' What we know: Available in three shades and delivered in a refreshing skin-loving formula this blusher is designed to leave cheeks with a water-colour like flush. Rachael Martin beauty director says: 'On Grazia's beauty desk, there's always something of a scramble when a new VB product lands. The fact that we all have different skin tones, tastes, and preferences- but still love the range- says a lot about the brand. The packaging is always beautiful, and crucially, the formulas never miss. This new blush is no exception. First impressions remind me of a more grown-up, luxurious take on the famous Benefit Benetint Blusher which I was loyal to throughout my teenage years. That said, when it comes to stains, I typically tread with caution. I often find they dry down too quickly, leaving behind a patchy, muddy finish that refuses to blend no matter how many desperate fingertip swipes I attempt. But this one sets slowly, giving me ample time to blend and perfect the placement.' Pros Long lasting A little goes a long way Beautiful packaging Cons The dropper function is a little stiff Only available in 3 shades thus far Next up a deep shade of nude lip liner used to ever so slightly overline and make the cupid's bow more shallow, making lips look wider and fuller. She doesn't go in for a high-gloss look when she's off duty, but there's always a balm like sheen that makes her lips look plump and healthy. Sign us up. Try Charlotte Tilbury's new Lip Cheat Contour Duos. 2. Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Contour Duo What the brand says: 'My Lip Cheat Contour Duos are nude lip liners for instantly wider, fuller + defined looking lips, whatever your age or lip shape! These 2-in-1 lip pencils mimic the appearance of natural shadows to emphasise and sculpt the look of lip contours, giving you 90s-inspired, supermodel nude lips. If you love my legendary nude lip liners like Pillow Talk, Foxy Brown and Iconic Nude, you're going to love these! What we know: These dual-ended liners go big on pigment and staying power. They're perfect for creating a natural-looking, full sculpted lip look and have been expertly colour matched to help everyone build their own perfect nude lip. Powdery and creamy, the pencils blend easily so that you can customise your end result based on your own preference. Sameeha Shaikh, beauty writer, says: 'I really do carry around three lip liners and three other lip products with me at any one given time, so having all my nude lip requirements met with one single product has been an absolute game-changer. Consider me a convert.' Pros Creamy, blendable formula A nude for every skin tone Cons Staying power could be a touch better In Dua's most recent Palermo drop we spied a luxe new face SPF release behind her iced-up Campari spritz. Augustinus Bader The Sunscreen SPF 50, £105, launched earlier this year to serious hype and it doesn't disappoint. Lightweight, fast-absorbing and infused with the brand's famous TFC8 complex (which plumps and brightens skin) its prestige sun care at its finest. And if it's good enough for Dua... 3. Augustinus Bader The Sunscreen SPF 50 Augustinus Bader The Sunscreen SPF 50 launched to serious hype earlier this year and that was before it earned grid space on Dua Lipa's Instagram page. The 'Hotter Than Hell' singer clearly takes her SPF seriously. It was spotted in the background of one of her Palermo holiday snaps, paying second fiddle to an icy Campari spritz. What we know: Lightweight and fast-absorbing, this luxe SPF is, of course, infused with the brand's signature TFC8 complex, which plumps, smooths and brightens skin. What the brand says: Sun care meets skincare in this lightweight, broad-spectrum sunscreen. This fast-absorbing formula protects against UVA and UVB rays and renews the skin at the same time, preventing and reducing visible signs of aging. Your daily SPF 50. Powered by TFC8®. Head of beauty Annie Vischer says: 'Like it or not, if you're using a face SPF that doesn't tick the joy box - that feels tacky, heavy and like a chore to apply - you're far less likely to use it as often as you should. Yes, we're talking about a hefty price tag here, but if you like to splurge on your daily face SPF then make a play for this one. It absorbs beautifully after moisturiser and delivers heavy-duty broad-spectrum sun protection. One I'd very happily wear every single day.' Pros Dua Lipa approved. Brimming with skincare ingredients. Lightweight. Feels like a second skin. Cons Usually the work of our very own Grazia Beauty Panellist Michelle Humphrey, Dua has sported everything from 3D nails (remember when 3D nails were big at the Meg Gala?) to French-tipped polka dots. It seems Hailey Bieber has passed on the baton and it's Dua's turn to serve up the manicure inspiration of the summer. Glazed doughnut nails who? And finally, how to beat the glow of being in the company of your favourite person? Congratulations Callum Turner, a moisturiser could never. Granted, you can't pick one up at your local Boots, though. Main image credit: Instagram @dualipa, other image credits: Instagram @dualipa Annie Vischer is head of beauty at Grazia. Risotto will be 'tastier' and made quicker with one key ingredient swap
Risotto is a classic dish, but this unique twist can make it even 'tastier' Risotto is a straightforward dish that demands little effort and focus, yet it can also serve as an incredibly handy recipe when your fridge supplies are running thin. It pairs beautifully with numerous ingredients, from meat, fish and seafood to vegetables and an array of cheeses, reports the Express. Nevertheless, one company has revealed their interpretation of the classic Italian meal that involves one significant substitution. In a recent TikTok clip, the Bold Bean Co chose to abandon the essential component of rice for something more aligned with their expertise: beans. They even gave it a completely fresh moniker. Bold Bean Co Said: "This is not a risotto, this is a bean-otto. If you haven't guessed, we're using beans instead of rice. "Just like a risotto, the starchiness and the stock you use are fundamental to its deliciousness." They wrote alongside the video: "BETTER THAN A RISOTTO. It's healthier, quicker and most importantly - TASTIER." For this bean-otto creation, the Bold Bean Co employs white beans or cannellini alongside fresh courgettes, garlic, "generous amounts" of Parmesan, crispy pine nuts, and a substantial drizzle of olive oil. The company remarked: "It is such a winner in this weather." Food enthusiasts expressed their opinions in the responses. Genevieve said: "Can't wait to try!" Gemma agreed, "Looks delicious," while Suzyd commented, "Since I tried your butter beans I can't eat any others! They are next level." If you fancy adding a twist to your conventional risotto, here's what you'll need. Creamy Courgette Beanotto Ingredients 1 jar of Organic White Beans/Queen Cannellini Beans with their bean stock 2 tbsp olive oil, plus extra to serve 2 courgettes, one coarsely grated, one sliced into 0.5cm rounds 2 garlic cloves, finely grated Zest and juice of ½ lemon 1 heaped tbsp creme fraiche, or plant-based alternative 45g Parmesan cheese (or vegan alternative), plus extra to serve 15g parsley, leaves finely chopped A good handful of fresh basil leaves A handful of pine nuts or sunflower seeds (optional) Method Ensure you squeeze out as much liquid as possible from the grated courgettes. Toast the pine nuts in a dry pan for two to three minutes until they turn golden, then set them aside. Warm two tablespoons of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced courgettes with a pinch of salt and cook for seven to eight minutes until they start to brown, stirring occasionally. Next, add the grated courgette and garlic and continue cooking for an additional two to three minutes until the courgettes soften. Grate in the zest of half the lemon. Pour in the beans along with their bean stock, rinse the jar quarter with water and pour that in as well - this serves as a stock. Stir everything together. Season generously with cracked black pepper. As the white beans are already well seasoned, we suggest tasting before adding any extra salt. Lower the heat and stir in the creme fraîche and parmesan. This process should be fairly quick as you don't want the creme fraîche to separate. Stir in the chopped parsley and tear in most of the basil leaves, reserving some for garnish. Check for seasoning and add the juice of half a lemon. Serve the beans into bowls, grate over some more lemon zest and additional parmesan. Sprinkle over the toasted pine nuts, the remaining basil and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
