Caitlin Clark reveals what she and Taylor Swift discussed at Chiefs playoff game
Caitlin Clark and Taylor Swift made national headlines as they took in a Kansas City Chiefs playoff game together in a suite at Arrowhead Stadium this past NFL season.
WNBA phenom Clark, a huge fan of Swift's musical talents prior to meeting her, pulled back the curtain recently on what the two discussed. And while they are mega-stars in each of their own professions, just like any other fan in the stands, they were having "normal conversations."
"I think what people don't always realize about people with a certain spotlight, whether it's her, whether it's me, whether it's another professional athlete or a pop star, we're real people," Clark told ESPN in a feature.
Clark, who grew up a Chiefs fan, learned all about Swift's love for the team and the game.
"She loves the Chiefs just as much as I do," she revealed. "I'm talking football with her. She loved it, and just like her passion, and honestly, probably one of the sweetest people I've ever been around. And everybody says that when you meet her, but it's really true. She just treats everybody with the same amount of kindness, and her family was great."
Clark and Swift watched as the Chiefs took down the Houston Texans in the divisional round to move on in the playoffs. Travis Kelce, the Chiefs' star tight end and Swift's boyfriend, scored a touchdown in the 23-14 victory over the Texans.
The Chiefs ultimately reached the Super Bowl for the third year in a row, but, unfortunately for them, NFL history was unable to be made as the Philadelphia Eagles prevailed in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, 40-22, denying Kansas City the chance to become the first team ever to win three Lombardi Trophies in a row.
Swift was also at that game in Caesars Superdome on Feb. 9.
While Swift and Kelce are enjoying some time together in the NFL offseason, Clark is preparing for her second WNBA season with the Indiana Fever, which is set to kick off on Saturday.
Clark, who broke WNBA records on her way to being named the Rookie of the Year, and her squad will face off against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Clark and Reese made waves in their rookie seasons, extending their rivalry from college while battling for a national title with Iowa and LSU, respectively.
Perhaps a Fever game will be in the cards for Swift and Kelce, as the WNBA season gets underway before Kelce must attend the start of the Chiefs' training camp.

"And the greatness that she carried on and off the court is something that I truly admired, and it was inspiring to me. The former UConn star also commented on the 43-year-old's longevity and how she wants to imitate it. "Definitely," when asked if she would have preferred to play against Taurasi, the Rookie of the Year nominee said. "I wish I got to compete against her. But she had a great, long career. Longevity is something that I want to do as well." Like Bueckers, Taurasi was an icon for UConn from 2000 to 2004. They have a lot of similarities in their basketball career. The San Francisco 49ers began mandatory minicamp Tuesday, and to no surprise, left tackle superstar Trent Williams was a full participant. Advertisement Some rumors swirled after Williams was absent from the team workouts earlier this offseason, but the veteran lineman attended the last couple days of OTAs to quiet the noise. He is under contract, a proven leader in the locker room, and is reportedly in good health, so there shouldn't be much to worry about. He hardly comes to OTAs anyway, so an appearance - however late - is actually some nice progress. One thing that could worry Niners Nation, however, is Williams' longevity at such a crucial position like his. The two have had tremendous success thus far, but Williams won't be able to protect quarterback Brock Purdy's blindside for his entire career- which after the QB's big-time contract extension, many believe will remain in the Bay Area. Williams, who will turn 37 next month, is entering his 15th NFL season. For the average player, this is multiple lifetimes. Even for a future Hall of Famer like Williams is, 15 years is quite a while. Not to mention that offensive line is among the toughest places to play because of the physical demand... Trent is a veteran's veteran to say the least. Advertisement Still, his play hasn't slowed down, with three First Team All-Pros in the last four years as proof. But Father Time is speeding up. So, what does Williams have to say about this eventual twilight of his career? Not much. 'I just feel like I do myself and my teammates a disservice if I'm looking toward the end,' Williams said, via 'I'm paid. People count on me to be here now. We've got goals and aspirations as a team. I just don't think putting brain power toward that helps us get to where we want to go." For the 49ers, "where they want to go" looks a lot different than where they ended up last season. San Francisco fell to the bottom of the NFC West the season after a Super Bowl appearance. Williams himself only appeared in 10 games, which matches a career-low. Advertisement There are a lot of things to improve on in 2025, so Williams' retirement has been pushed far back in the closet of his mind. 'When [retirement] happens, it happens," he said. "I think, one day, coming in, I should know when it's getting that time, and then, I do the responsible thing and let them know early enough so that they can make the adjustments needed.' That day is unknown at the moment, but what we do know is that Williams is under contract for two more seasons, including this upcoming one. After 2026, he will be going on 39 years old. 40, at least right now, could be within reach. 'I would love to make it into that special group, but if it's not in my cards,' he said. 'I'm going to do everything physically possible. I'm going to stay engaged. Advertisement 'It's one of them things to where I'm going to do everything possible to play as long [as I can], and to put a good product of football out there, and then, when it's not going my way, then I'll know. But I could play until I'm 41. Who knows?" Best news of all for 49ers fans? He's fueled up with motivation. "I'm definitely not going to retire with some left in the tank." Trent Williams wants to go "until the wheels fall off". And there are a lot of miles left in those tires. The Washington Commanders have signed defensive back and special teams star Jeremy Reaves to a one-year contract extension, keeping him in the nation's capital through the 2026 season. Reaves' last contract signed before the 2024 season was worth $6 million over two seasons. His base salary for this year is set at $2.08 million with a $750,000 signing bonus. Last season, he appeared in all 17 games with 317 special teams snaps, the second most of his career.
