Paloma Faith recalls being ' attacked very violently' by a former partner
Paloma Faith has recounted a terrifying incident where she came close to death at the hands of a former partner, leaving her emotionally scarred . The 43-year-old singer and actress was left fearing for her life after a man chased after her in a car.
After he crashed his own vehicle, the unnamed man, who she says is a former partner, allegedly smashed the window of the pop singer's car and dragged her out. The frightening incident came years before her fame but left her shaken.
The How You Leave a Man singer revealed she even got an injunction against the man following the attack - but ended up having a drink with him some time later. The star shared all on her Mad Sad Bad podcast while in conversation with comedy legend Ruby Wax.
Paloma recalled: "This guy, when I was younger, attacked me very, very, very violently, and I nearly died." Giving more details, she explained they were in cars at the time.
She said: "It was a high-speed car chase… he drove his car into the front of somebody's house, smashed my driver's side window in and pulled me out. I had a black eye and a smashed-up face."
She then explained that she took out an injunction against the man, but then saw him years later. She recalled: "Seven years later, I saw him again...
"He gets out of the car and says, 'Can I take you for a drink after work? I feel like we need to clear it up.' And I said, 'Yeah, I'd like to go.'"
The star went on to explain that she managed to get the upper hand on the man while they had their drink. She recalled: "I let him speak. I didn't say very much. I asked him some questions. His answers were kind of boring.
"And then I just said, 'I'm gonna go now.' And he said, 'Why?' I said, 'I find you quite boring.' ... I felt like I'd conquered something."
Paloma's shocking story comes just days after she opened up about being bullied at school - after EastEnders legend Natalie Cassidy claimed she had been bullied by the singer when they were at school together. The Only Love Can Hurt Like This singer told fans about her past experience during a social media exchange.
She wrote on X, back when it was called Twitter: "Yes I got bullied at school. I had braces and before that, wonky teeth."
And speaking of her school experience, Paloma previously told The Standard how her teachers helped her in her career growing up. "They were very encouraging to me. I was put in the Hackney Gazette because it was a failing school and I got all As at GCSE."
She went on to say she didn't receive any formal musical training despite her school days inspiring her creative nature. "I did it all myself," she claimed at the time. "I had no famous parents, no stage school, no BRIT School."
Natalie previously revealed: "Paloma Faith, she bullied me at school. She went to Islington Green and was in the year above me. We've spoken about it and she has said sorry about that. Gutted."

Dead body horror in Coronation Street as the lid is ripped off a coffin
Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) has to confront some scary sights in upcoming Coronation Street episodes, and only one of them is a dead body. Perhaps more terrifyingly, the other is her old enemy Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins). Jenny no doubt hoped she'd seen the last of Christina earlier this year. She had returned to Weatherfield to help her daughter, Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan), get revenge on Jenny. They came up with a plan to catfish Jenny, using someone called Dom as bait to get to know Jenny on a dating app and then con her out of her money. Daisy eventually discovered that her mother was also trying to double cross her when she found out that Dom was actually Christina's partner, and tipped Jenny off. After the resulting showdown in the Rovers, Christina was arrested. With Daisy having departed Weatherfield, there seems to be no reason for Jenny's and Christina's paths to cross, so Jenny is gobsmacked to see her enemy in the Rovers looking for George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley). Jenny has recently taken a fancy to the eligible undertaker herself, after he impressed her by fixing a leaky pipe at the Kabin, so she's not best pleased to hear that Christina is looking for him. However, Christina insists she's only interested in George for his professional services. Her partner Dom has died and she wants to arrange his funeral. More Trending Jenny is suspicious about whether this is true, and a conversation with Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) only makes her believe more strongly that Christina is up to something. She thinks the story about Dom dying is just a ruse so Christina can get close to George. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? Wanting to save George from himself and, more urgently, from Christina, Jenny marches into the undertakers' and tells George not to trust Christina. She says she's only after his money and Dom isn't even dead. And to prove it, as George and Christina look on in horror, she goes over to the coffin and pulls the lid off. EastEnders' Lily and Amy are appalled by twisted Joel's actions as he loses it
EastEnders' Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) and Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) are appalled when they become the latest women to be verbally abused by twisted teenager Joel Marshall (Max Murray). Joel has exhibited some disgusting behaviour since arriving in Walford earlier this year, having recorded himself and Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) having sex without her consent, before sexually harassing a passenger on the tube. His dad Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw) has been incapable of getting a handle on his son's misogyny, and recent scenes saw Joel turn his attention to Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner). After she publicly called out sick comments he made about her and daughter Lily in The Vic, he leaked intimate images from Stacey's Secret Cam account. While Stacey reported Joel to the police, they decided not to investigate, leaving him with a renewed sense of invincibility, which saw him threaten to assault stepmum Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig). With Stacey's daughter Lily having since arrived back in Walford after spending time with her biological father Ryan Malloy (Neil McDermott), she finds herself on the receiving end of Joel's vile words next week. As Lily catches up with her pal Amy at the café, they are interrupted by Joel, who says some offensive things. Amy and Lily fight back and call him out, which causes Joel to lose it. His friend Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall), who is slowly being influenced by his friend's behaviour, is shocked at his outburst, which is also witnessed by his mum Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace). Vinny fears his secret being exposed in Emmerdale as the police get involved
Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) is potentially very close to having his secret exposed in Emmerdale. Last week, Vinny invited a man called Mike over to his house. He met him through an LGBTQI+ forum, and connected with Mike because they both shared thoughts about their sexuality. Mike and Vinny sat down and chatted, but things took a turn when Mike suggested that Vinny wanted to sleep with him. It was in this moment that Vinny realised the man he had told some very honest information to was someone entirely different. Mike's true colours saw him brutally attack Vinny and take £10,000 from him. In the aftermath, because Vinny was so afraid of telling Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) the truth, he conjured up another plan that justified why he had sustained so many stomach injuries. Outside, Vinny tried to goad his best friend Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah) into attacking him. That was never going to happen but because Gabby saw Kammy push Vinny, he was able to frame him for the attack. Gabby has been adamant that Kammy needs reporting to the police, but Vinny hasn't gone this far. Instead, he's quietly retreated into a bit of a shell, heavily impacted by the attack, overwhelmed with thoughts about his sexuality, and consumed with guilt for framing his friend. In this evening's episode, Vinny was surprised to see two police officers approach him while at the scrapyard. They confirmed that Mike's real name is actually Graham, and that he's being investigated for extortion. What will Vinny do next? The police officers wondered why Vinny made a payment of £10,000 to Graham but he didn't say anything. Can he bring himself to tell the police what really happened? He could find the courage to tell them that he was subjected to a homophobic attack from Graham, but whether he relays this to Gabby or not is another thing entirely. Which path will Vinny choose? Vinny has been struggling ever since he tried to kiss Kammy earlier this year. Shortly after it happened, Vinny claimed it was a joke and reminded Kammy that he's currently engaged to Gabby. More Trending In the days that followed, Kammy tried to talk to Vinny about the moment and how it made him feel, but he pushed his mate away. Vinny made contact with Mike after a conversation with Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt), who volunteers for a mental health charity. Paddy spoke about how valuable the charities are, and how they help people feel less alone. Vinny took to the internet and found a forum. He messaged Mike and spoke to him about a variety of things.
