BoyNextDoor to return with new EP 'No Genre' in May

Korea Herald16-04-2025

BoyNextDoor, a boy group created by rapper Zico, is set to return May 13 with its fourth EP 'No Genre,' the group's agency KOZ Entertainment announced Tuesday.
The new EP comes about eight months after its third EP '19.99,' and four months after the digital single 'One and Only I Love You,' unveiled in January.
With "19.99," BoyNextDoor entered the Billboard 200 at No. 40 and earned its first million-seller certification in Korea. The group's momentum continued with 'One and Only I Love You,' which became a career high. The song landed at No. 4 on Melon's Top 100 chart on Jan. 7 and climbed to No. 7 on the platform's monthly chart in February. Most recently, it ranked No. 9 on the weekly chart for April 7-13. It also topped Apple Music Korea's Daily Top 100 for 37 consecutive days through mid-February. Internationally, the track charted on Billboard's Global 200 and Global (Excl. US) charts.
BoyNextDoor recently wrapped up its first solo concert series 'BoyNextDoor Tour 'Knock on Vol.1,'' performing 17 shows across 12 cities, including Incheon, Tokyo, Aichi, Osaka, Miyagi, Fukuoka, Kanagawa, Singapore, Manila, Taipei, Hong Kong and Jakarta.
Following the tour's success, the group will hold encore concerts in Japan and Korea. 'Knock on Vo.1 Encore in Japan' will take place June 28 to 30 at Musashino Forest Sports Plaza in Tokyo and the final shows will be held July 25 to 27 at KSPO Dome in Seoul.

Seventeen unveils music video for Pharrell Williams collab

Seventeen uploaded a music video for 'Bad Influence,' written and produced by Pharrell Willams, on Wednesday. To the uptempo drum beats mixed with bass drum, the bandmates exude confidence in a series of contemporary settings accented by props that range from an analogue television to worn-out tires in the video. The members don a capsule collection they designed with Japanese fashion designer Chitose Abe, the creative director of Sacai. A jacket from the limited-edition collection, along with a T-shirt signed by 11 members of the 13-piece act, will be auctioned off on Joopiter, an auction house founded by Williams. Profits from the sale will be donated to UNESCO, for which both Williams and Seventeen are serving as goodwill ambassadors. 'Bad Influence' is a B-side track from the band's fifth LP 'Happy Burstday,' which debuted on the Billboard 200 at No. 2.

Seventeen's 5th LP hits Billboard 200 at No. 2

Seventeen entered the Billboard 200 at No. 2 with its fifth studio album, according to the chart preview published Sunday in the US. The LP 'Happy Burstday' is the band's third album to claim the second highest spot on the main albums chart, as did its 10th and 11th mini albums 'FML' and 'Seventeenth Heaven." It is the seventh consecutive set to chart in the top 10. The album was released in May and sold over 2.5 million copies in the first week, the most for a K-pop album released this year.
