Fans Blast Stephen A. Smith For Being In A 'Married Woman's Business' After Serena Williams Comments
On social media, fans are blasting the TV personality for his choice of words about Serena Williams and her decision to dance during the NFL's big game on February 9, 2025.
During the Super Bowl LIX halftime show, tennis legend Williams appeared alongside Kendrick Lamar during his chart-topping diss track about Drake, "Not Like Us."
The tennis champion could be seen in a blue outfit with blonde curly hair doing the "crip walk" to the song.
While discussing the show and Lamar's surprise guests, including singer SZA and Williams, Smith shared how he would've felt had he seen Williams dancing on stage if they were in a relationship.
'If I'm your husband, I'm thinking, 'Why are you up there trolling him—trolling your ex?'' Smith asked his colleagues, including Shannon Sharpe. 'If I'm married, and my wife is going to troll her ex—go back to his -ss. Because clearly you don't belong with me. What you worried about him for—and you with me?'
"Bye. Bye," he finished.
One reason Williams' appearance during this year's Super Bowl halftime show has been a trending topic is her previous flirtatious relationship with Drake.
The pair sparked dating rumors in 2011, and throughout the years, Drake name-dropped the athlete in a couple of songs, including "Worst Behavior."
He's also credited Williams with inspiring his 2015 Meek Mill diss track, "Back to Back."
After Williams married Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian in 2017, Drake slammed him in a song, calling him a "groupie."
Once the clip of Smith speaking about Williams and her dancing on stage during Super Bowl LIX was posted online, fans dragged the sports analyst for discussing things he couldn't relate to.
"Quick reminder: Stephen A. Smith works over 320 days a year and is unable to experience his wife trolling her ex because he does not currently possess a wife," one user wrote.
Someone else clearly agreed, writing that Smith believing he'd "even have the opportunity to marry someone like her in the first place is HILARIOUS."
A third user also shared their thoughts and asked why Smith was "in a married woman's business."
On X, Williams' husband, Ohanian, shared his thoughts about his wife's appearance during the Super Bowl halftime show.
"Some of y'all have no idea how criticized Serena was for this same dance at Wimbledon 13 years ago, and it shows," he wrote. "This is bigger than the music."
For those who may be unfamiliar, Ohanian is referring to the pushback Williams received after doing the crip walk at Wimbledon during the 2012 Olympics in London.
A fan replied to Ohanian, telling him and his wife to ignore the haters before reminding him that Williams, whom many regard as the greatest tennis player of all time, inspires many people.
"No other choice," he replied.
Williams also addressed the special moment on Instagram, praising Lamar for inviting her to show off her "winning dance" in front of millions of football fans.
Aside from her dance during the halftime show, Williams also made headlines after she showered pop singer Taylor Swift with love following an embarrassing moment inside the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
During the game, the camera operator flashed the camera to several big celebrities in the audience, briefly showing them on the stadium's jumbotron.
When the camera landed on Swift, the crowd shared loud boos, prompting the singer to share a confused look before asking, "What is going on?"
Williams defended the singer online, telling her not to hang her head in response to the crowd's reaction.
"I love you," Williams wrote. "Don't listen to those [boos]!"
Williams standing up for Swift made several of the "Cruel Summer" singer's fans extremely proud.
Online, the singer's fanbase, known as the "Swifties," showed love to the Grand Slam champion for protecting their favorite artist of all time.
"And this is why you're a QUEEN," one user wrote.
"Aww, my favorite singer and favorite athlete," another shared.

Dallas Cowboys Star Laughs Off Viral Preseason Mishap
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. On Saturday night, the Dallas Cowboys began their preseason slate against the LA Rams. Though he didn't suit up for the matchup, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb still managed to be a major talking point of the evening. Lamb has been one of the main standouts for the Cowboys in training camp, which means he'll likely see minimal time on the field in preseason. Dallas doesn't want to risk losing such a vital piece to injury when he already appears ready for the 2025 campaign. While in street clothes on the sidelines, Lamb was in attendance to cheer on his teammates who were getting reps against the Rams Saturday. He ended up getting too swept up in the action, leading to him having his own viral moment. More Photo by/Getty Images Lamb was very engaged on the sidelines Saturday, cheering on the offense as they battled against LA. On one play, he can be seen getting amped up after Jonathan Mingo was able to beat his defender downfield on the outside. Lamb turned his back before the play ended, which ended up being his downfall. An official was making his way down the sidelines and was too focused on the play to see Lamb in front of him. This led to them having a big collision that took the official off his feet. Hardest hit that Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb took tonight was on the sidelines …. and from an official. — Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) August 10, 2025 Right after the incident, Lamb can be seen throwing his hands up and laughing at what had just transpired. It didn't end there, as he re-posted the clip on his Instagram story for all to enjoy his mishap. Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb laughed about his run-in with an NFL official in an update on his Instagram story — RJ Ochoa (@rjochoa) August 10, 2025 Unfortunately for the Cowboys, they were unable to kick off the preseason in the win column. The Rams managed to take care of business and walk out with a 31-21 victory. Also read: NFL Analyst Defends Disgruntled Cowboys Star in Fiery Rant Although he racked up his fourth straight 1,000-yard season, Lamb's production still took a slight step back last season. This largely stems from the fact that Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending injury midway through the year. With the star QB healthy again, Lamb has an opportunity to get back on track in 2025. The star wideout targets might go down slightly this season due to the addition of George Pickens. That said, with another dynamic receiver for defenses to worry about, Lamb should still be one of the league's top players at the position. Tom Brady Jokes He Feels 'Kind of Old' as His Statue Is Unveiled by the Patriots Outside of Gillette Stadium
NEED TO KNOW The New England Patriots unveiled a 12-foot-tall statue of Tom Brady outside of Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., on Saturday, Aug. 9 The retired star quarterback told fans gathered at the unveiling in Patriot Place Plaza that he never imagined "being made of bronze and frozen in time" He also said, "I feel extremely honored, deeply grateful and, if I'm being honest, kind of old"Tom Brady is being honored for being an unshakable force on the field — fittingly with a 12-foot-tall bronze statue now standing proud outside of Gillette Stadium. The seven-time Super Bowl champion, 48, was immortalized at Patriot Place Plaza on Saturday, Aug. 9, when the New England Patriots organization and CEO Robert Kraft unveiled a towering statue in his likeness ahead of the team's 2025 home game against the Washington Commanders. Kraft previously announced the honor during Brady's 2024 Patriots Hall of Fame induction ceremony, before making it official on Saturday. After Kraft, 84, spoke about his franchise's former star quarterback, he and Brady stood up to watch the unveiling, as flames shot up behind the statue. Brady then examined the statue from the back, gave Kraft a hug and shared some remarks with fans in attendance. "Right now, I feel extremely honored, deeply grateful and, if I'm being honest, kind of old," Brady joked during the unveiling ceremony outside of the stadium that was his home turf from 2000 to 2019. "I'm also a little surprised because usually they don't build statues until you're really old... It's not every day you get a statue, at least not one like this," he continued. "Seeing myself as a statue isn't something I could've ever imagined growing up. When I was drafted, I just hoped to make the team. I never dreamed I'd be standing here two-and-a-half decades later, made of bronze and frozen in time. It actually feels pretty appropriate, given my 40-yard dash time." Brady called the moment an "incredible honor," joking that it marked the "first time" in his life that Boston sportswriters would describe him as "chiseled." Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. He then thanked the Kraft family for their "leadership," his former teammates and coaches for their efforts, and his family — which includes children Jack, 17, Benjamin, 15, and Vivian, 12. "I'm sure most of them are mumbling under their breath right now, 'Yeah, we love you, but a statue?' " Brady joked. "In the end, this statue isn't just for Pats fans," he later said. "It'll also give Jets fans something to throw beers at as they leave the stadium every year. Probably in the second quarter. Maybe the third." Brady then said that, ultimately, the statue wasn't about just "one guy," but rather a "team and a commitment to being great together." He continued: "To think that a kid from California might someday travel here to this plaza, stop, gaze at this work of art and say, 'Who the hell is that guy?' I've said this before, but I want to say it again: I'm humbled and honored to have been part of this organization for 20 incredible years. You guys shaped my life and the life of my family. And for that, I'm forever grateful." As for Kraft, the team's owner called the statue a way to "immortalize" a man he considered to be the "greatest NFL player of all time." "Tom was the 199th draft pick, who not only transformed himself into the greatest quarterback the league has ever seen, but also helped transform the Patriots into a 20-year dynasty," Kraft said. "He demanded excellence of himself and made everyone around him better. Tom wasn't just the face of our franchise, he was the true heartbeat." Brady played for the Patriots for two decades after being selected 199th in the 2000 NFL Draft. Between then and 2020 — when he left New England for free agency and joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — Brady earned six Super Bowl championships with the franchise. He later led the Bucs to a Super Bowl of their own in 2021, before his retirement in 2023. According to the Patriots organization, the newest addition to Gillette Stadium makes Brady the first player in franchise history to earn the honor of having a bronze statue standing at the location. Per ESPN, the statue was created by a local sculptor and its granite base was quarried in Vermont. Read the original article on People

Sports podcasters recall exchange with Jordon Hudson: 'We talked to her for five hours'
Jordon Hudson, whose romance with former NFL coach Bill Belichick has been closely followed, continues to make headlines. The 24-year-old recently called "The Sports Gossip Show," co-hosts Charlotte Wilder and Madison Hill said. Hudson's relationship with Belichick had been a topic of conversation on the podcast in the past. Wilder recalled the encounter with Hudson during a recent episode, saying the former cheerleader introduced herself as "the president of your universe." The video description for the episode, titled "Jordon Hudson called us and it didn't end well," said Hudson called Wilder roughly two weeks prior to the latest show's publication date. The description also noted that show has "covered" Hudson's personal and professional life "extensively." At one point during the conversation, the podcasters joked Hudson has been their "white whale," shortly before recalling attending the Miss Maine pageant. Hudson competed in the pageant. The hosts said Hudson began following them on social media after they posted about and covered the pageant. After realizing Hudson was a social media follower, the podcasters said they reached out to request Hudson be a guest of the show. She later unfollowed the account, the hosts said. After making initial contact, "Madeline and Charlotte then spent five hours over the course of the week talking to her, and thought there was a good chance she would come on the show," per the description. When she called, Wilder said Hudson introduced herself as "the president of your universe." Wilder said the intent behind Hudson's call was not immediately clear. Wilder eventually determined Hudson primarily wanted to discuss their coverage of the Miss Maine pageant. Hill was later brought into the discussion. The three then engaged in group FaceTime calls. At one point, the podcasters said Hudson suggested she would be open to coming on the podcast for an interview. Wilder also alluded to some miscommunication surrounding the Miss Maine edition of the show that was initially believed to be Hudson's primary concern. "She's yelling at me. She's crying. She said that she finished the rest of the Miss Maine episode and she didn't like what we said," Wilder said. "And I was like, 'Wait what?' I was like, 'I thought we've been talking about the Miss Maine episode that we did that you watched the whole time?'" Wilder admitted "there was this tension in the calls" and it "felt like we were always waiting for the other shoe to drop." The host said they gave Hudson a heads-up that they would discuss the exchange they had with her on the podcast regardless if she ended up being a guest. Belichick is scheduled to make his North Carolina football head coaching debut on Sept. 1. Tar Heels football players have insisted the coach's personal life hasn't disrupted the team in any way. "Social media can promote some narrative, but that was not a distraction to us at all," wide receiver Jordan Shipp said. "There was never a problem, like people saying she was running practice. We'd never really see her in the building. That was never a problem." Belichick described the increased attention focused on his personal life as "just noise." "Sometimes it's noisy, and sometimes it isn't," the coach told ESPN. "Sometimes with the Patriots it was noisy, too." Fox News Digital reached out to Hudson for comment.
