Strictly's Tasha Ghouri shares honest thoughts on BBC show after controversy

Daily Mirror24-05-2025

Strictly Come Dancing star Tasha Ghouri opened up about her time on the show, during an A Disney Wish event that is aimed at giving children living with serious conditions experiences they will never forget
Strictly Come Dancing runner-up Tasha Ghouri has opened up about her time on the popular BBC show.
Shooting to fame in 2022 when she entered the Love Island villa, Tasha's career has continued to go from strength to strength. In the years since then, the 26-year-old has used her platform to raise awareness for the deaf community, after she herself was born with the condition.

Having already made her name in reality TV when she finished in fourth place on Love Island, she returned to our screens last year when she was selected to take part in the latest series of Strictly Come Dancing.

With many tipping the star to pick up the Glitterball trophy alongside her dance partner Aljaž Škorjanec, she was just pipped to the top prize in December's final after stand-up comedian Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell claimed the award in an eagerly contested final.
The series kicked off in the backdrop of allegations about welfare of celebrities, with the likes of Amanda Abbington complaining of pro dancer Giovanni Pernice being "unnecessary, abusive, cruel and mean". The BBC later went on to uphold complaints of verbal bullying and harassment.
But Tasha never experienced anything but joy on the dance show, telling the Mirror: "My experience was really positive. I look back and I was super happy with how my journey went. I had the best time. And yeah, honestly, I look back with pure happiness and joy because I just loved every single second.
"To make it to the final was just a dream come true. That TV show was just the biggest dream of mine since I was a kid and to say that I made it to the final and I did the tour, I did the whole experience, is a pinch me moment for sure, you know. To be dancing and dance is my biggest passion."

She added: "It was a perfect show for me, I was dancing, having the time of my life. I looked back with such fond memories of, you know, the cast, the magic of Strictly, it's just so incredible."
With the new series of the show set to air later this year, Tasha revealed how she is eagerly awaiting to see who will be competing for the Glitterball trophy. She continued: "I'm so excited to see the new cast this year, you know. Honestly, the people that are doing it this year, they are going to love it. It's such an incredible show to be part of."
Away from her time on Strictly, Tasha has been lending her support to A Disney Wish UK. This year's event welcomed 200 families for a magical three-day experience, with children enjoying an immersive experience that brought the happiness, joy and magic of Disney to life.
Looking back on her time spent with the children at the event, Tasha said that it "was such a beautiful, magical day, that I look back on and feel grateful to be part of".

Victoria Beckham suffers fresh blow amid Brooklyn drama by former bandmates

Victoria Beckham has been left reeling as her family drama continues, with the mum-of-four now facing fresh heartbreak amid plans for a Spice Girls reunion. Victoria Beckham has been dealt another blow amid her reported feud with eldest son Brooklyn Beckham, distancing himself from the family. The fashion mogul has seen her high-profile family making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The 51-year-old been left heartbroken by the ongoing spat with her son and his wife Nicola Peltz, which escalated after the pair allegedly skipped David Beckham's 50th birthday bash. Since then, a noticeable rift has formed within the Beckham household. ‌ It has sparked fresh concerns that there might be "no way back" for them. Now, Victoria faces another predicament as her Spice Girls bandmates plan a reunion without her. ‌ The legendary girl group will celebrate their 30th anniversary next year, with bosses said to be eager to reunite the band. It appears Mel C, Mel B and Emma Bunton have agreed, while Victoria has not yet confirmed and Geri isn't 100 per cent onboard, and instead is advocating for an ABBA-style avatar of the band to create a virtual concert for fans, reports the Mirror. Victoria is allegedly excluded from these discussions and won't be part of the virtual band. A source disclosed to the Daily Mail: "There will be a Spice Girls reunion and all the details are now being debated by everyone apart from Victoria." They suggested that Geri "isn't interested in coming back and doing a tour" but the virtual concept has "tempted her". The former manager of the iconic pop group, Simon Fuller, is apparently the mastermind behind their latest venture. Although Victoria Beckham chose not to join the 2019 tour, sources suggest she might be open to the new concept provided all her fellow bandmates are on board as well. An inside source revealed to The Sun: "Simon is eager to pull off one final spectacle with the Spice Girls, and this is his latest brainchild. He was the mastermind behind ABBA's groundbreaking digital shows and believes this strategy would suit the Spice Girls perfectly." ‌ They added that a traditional tour seems unlikely, especially with Victoria unable to commit full-time again, so this may be their best shot at a reunion. Victoria herself has previously expressed interest in a virtual Spice Girls show, telling American television in 2022: "That is a great idea." ‌ Elsewhere, Victoria received uplifting news as her husband David is set to be knighted in the upcoming King's Birthday Honours list following years of anticipation. There also seems to be ongoing speculations regarding the recent split of her son Romeo Beckham and his girlfriend Kim Turnbull. Sources close to the family suggest it would take nothing short of a "small miracle at present" for harmony to return between Brooklyn Beckham and his parents, amid the reported family feud. ‌ It follows claims from Nicola Peltz's close inner circle that Kim Turnbull's past interactions with Brooklyn were the reason the couple abstained from attending David's 50th birthday celebrations, allegations that have been denied by Beckham's circle. "There are no signs of reconciliation, sadly. There is still a lot of hurt to process," a source revealed. Insiders close to Nicola have previously claimed that as "an outsider coming into the Beckham family, she has helped Brooklyn see the emotional abuse and toxic behaviour within". The allegations have struck a nerve, with a source commenting: "It was a low, low can you say such things about your own family. It will be interesting to see if Brooklyn and Nicola make any attempt to heal things now Kim is out of the picture."
