Latest: Rulani Mokwena to Orlando Pirates is intensifying!
Orlando Pirates will begin new era which will include a new coach for the first time in three years.
Pirates had stability under former coach Jose Riveiro who has just left the club to join Al Ahly.
During his tenure, Riveiro has helped Pirates win five trophies. Three MTN8 titles in a row as well as back to back Nedbank Cup titles. Furthermore, Beyond that, he led the Buccaneers into a second place in the Betway Premiership. Beyond local boarders, he ensured qualification for the side, into the group stages of the CAF Champions League. After doing so for the first time since 2018, they finished top of their group and unbeaten.
Riveiro led Pirates to a semifinal finish in the CAF Champions League, with a Nedbank Cup final too. That has seen a vacancy open up at the Sea Robbers for the first time. A familiar name has since resurfaced in Rulani Mokwena. Having had a short stint with the Buccaneers before, he has expressed interest in a potential return.
Now it seems like there is more where that came from, after Pirates revealed an update on the matter. It is now claimed by Soccer-Laduma that the Buccaneers are, indeed, targeting a Mokwena return.
'At the moment no one wants to talk about it but it's believed that Rulani Mokwena is the coach in line to take over from Jose Riveiro. I can't say everything is finalised at the moment but things are looking good. For now it's more about the interest in the coach and Rulani Mokwena is one of those,' said the source.

Kaizer Chiefs to sign and announce Polievka?
All eyes are on Kaizer Chiefs. If not Fiston Mayele, who will be the chosen striker coming to Naturena in the Betway Premiership next season? According to this latest report, Nasreddine Nabi has eyes on a European striker. The name is Robert Polievka from Krupina, Slovakia. Sportswire, this new Kaizer Chiefs striker, Polievka, is still contracted to the Hungarian club MTK Budapest until 2027. He has scored four goals in 26 games for them. Agent:No deal agreed between superstar and Mamelodi Sundowns!
Mamelodi Sundowns could be set to lose on of their best players ahead of next season, according to reports. Sundowns have barely recovered from the heartache and pain of losing the CAF Champions League final to Pyramids FC. Now it looks like they may be set to see another rival on the continent pinch one of their top talents. This comes after yet another underwhelming season by their standards, where they failed to get over the line in the Champions League. Even though Sundowns won their eighth Betway Premiership title in a row, that was their only trophy yet again. Now as the squad seeks to go again for greener pastures, a rebuild may be necessitated. Already players such as Sipho Mbule and Rivaldo Coetzee have been released by Sundowns. another player that will see his contract expire at the end of the season is Khuliso Mudau. The player has been a mainstay for Sundowns over the years, even for Bafana Bafana. He is also expected to go to the FIFA Club World Cup with the Brazilians. Just last week, this publication reported that Tunisian giants Esperance were in advanced talks to sign Mudau. The initial report coming from Tunisian paper Nessma Sport claims it would be a free transfer. That may not be true, as the player still has an option for one more year. That is thought to have already been exercised by Sundowns. The only worry is that Sundowns have been trying to tie Mudau down to a new longer-term deal.
