Annual Dance Show rocking the stage at BHS on Thursday
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – The normally quiet and reserved Helen Foley Theater at Binghamton High School will be rocking Thursday night as the school's dance students put on their end of year performance.
The annual Dance Show is known for its high energy, professional lighting, sound and props and audience engagement.
The concert features multiple styles of dance including jazz, lyrical, contemporary and hip-hop. Students from all four levels of dance that are taught as electives at the school will be featured along with selections from the school's competitive dance team.
Sophomore Efrain Masso-Ramos and Senior Kamora Trevino say an entire year's worth of practice pays off when they step out onto the stage.
'We worked really hard on it. We've been working all year. Some dances we even started in the summer. We just put a lot of work and effort into them,' said Masso-Ramos.
'You learn so much here, it could open up so many opportunities outside of here from Binghamton High School dance. It has for me,' said Trevino.
The competitive team will also be bringing their dances to US Tournament of Dance competitions in Syracuse and at Binghamton University this year.
Thursday's Dance Show starts at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $5 for general admission. They can be purchased at the door or online by clicking here. Ticketing is cashless, so you will need to purchase them on your phone or online.

Southern Tier Singers present ‘Constellation'
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – The Southern Tier Singers Collective is exploring the spiritual connection between humans and the heavenly bodies. The group is presenting Constellation on Saturday. The show, which is inspired by the night sky, uses sacred and secular works to evoke feelings of peace, love, and compassion in audience members. Artistic Director William Culverhouse says our lives are a cosmic narrative, drawing inspiration from the beauty and mystery of the night sky. 'The whole concert is about the stars and how our lives are reflected in them, or how we see our lives reflected in the stars, the way we love, the way we hope, the way we dream, the way we fear, the way we aspire to be better people. All of that has a relationship with the stars and the night sky,' said Culverhouse. The show will take place at 7:30 p.m. at St. Patrick's Church, located 9 Leroy Street in Binghamton. The concert is free to attend, but voluntary donations will be accepted. This wildly popular pizza restaurant from Kendall is coming to South Miami
Kendall's favorite pizza spot is planning to pop up in South Miami. Known for its Detroit-style pies with a crispy, airy crust, Vice City Pizza is taking over the restaurant Bar Bella in South Miami for a summer residency. Starting Saturday, June 14, at Bar Bella, you'll be able to order the square-cut pizzas from Chef Carlos Estarita, which are made with Vice City's special two-day fermented dough. You can order a simple square of cheese or sausage, of course, but Vice City is best known for its special pizzas, including the Roni & Hot Honey (pepperoni and Mike's Hot Honey); the Brie and Fig (mozzarella, brie, gorgonzola, caramelized onion, pistachio and fig jam) and the Ron Swanson (bacon, pepperoni, fennel sausage, banana peppers and Mike's Hot Honey), named for everybody's favorite carnivore on the TV series 'Parks and Recreation.' The Bar Bella menu, which featured tapas and barbecue items, will not be available throughout the residency. But the restaurant's back bar Abi Maria, named for owner Jorgie Ramos' old spot in Downtown Dadeland that closed in 2023, is bringing back its bites menu. You'll find choices like cured meats and cheeses, chicken wings and small plates like calamari, truffle tots, Bolognese arancini and proscuitto croquetas. Ramos, who co-owns Vice City Pizza with Estarita and is also the owner of Cebada Rooftop in Coral Gables, opened Bar Bella in late 2024 in the former space of Taco Craft. Now located at 2615 SW 147th Ave., Vice City Pizza came to life as a pandemic pop up (the original Abi Maria was one of the first places the popular pizzas were served). Estarita quickly became known for making all sorts of nontraditional pies, like La Colombiana, with Colombian hot dog slices, homemade pineapple jam, garlic cilantro sauce, bacon and black forest ham or El Cubiche, with caja china pork, confit garlic and onions and mojo aioli. If South Miami is as booming as Ramos believes, Vice City should fit in nicely. 'All the elements of this neighborhood are ready to explode,' Ramos told the Miami Herald earlier this year. 'Going out two blocks from your home and having good food and drinks and not worrying about parking is great. . . . South Miami is what the Grove used to be. It's surrounded by great neighborhoods and people desperate to stay close to home.' The Vice City residency is scheduled to run through September. Vice City Pizza at Bar Bella Where: 5829 SW 73rd St., South Miami Starting: June 14 Hours: 5 p.m. midnight Wednesday-Thursday; 5 p.m.-1 a.m. Friday-Saturday; 5-10 p.m. Sunday; lunch hours on Saturday and Sunday starting in a few weeks More information: @barabimaria on Instagram

‘Hurlyburly' at KNOW Theatre
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A show that explores the drug-fueled chaos of 1980s Hollywood culture is coming to KNOW Theatre this weekend. Hurlyburly by David Rabe is opening at KNOW Theatre on Friday. Drawing its name from Shakespeare's tumultuous tragedy Macbeth, Hurlyburly follows a group of lesser-known celebrities as they attempt to find meaning in their dishonest, futile lives. The show focuses on themes of self-destruction, toxic masculinity, substance use, and the search for meaning in the mundane. Vito Longo portrays Eddie, an insecure, morally corrupt Hollywood casting director. Longo says going to see good theatre is like going to the gym for your empathy. 'It's going to be hard for audiences to sympathize with these guys because their behavior is so destructive, but ultimately I hope audiences leave with a perspective of a deeper understanding for people that may be abrasive in their everyday lives,' said Longo. Hurlyburly opens Friday and will run for three weeks, ending on June 29. Show times are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets are $28 for general admission, $23 for seniors, and $15 for students. There will also be a pay-what-you-can performance on Thursday, June 19.
