In-N-Out Burger Announced They're Headed To This Southern City
The Nashville restaurants will be In-N-Out's first to open east of Texas and could include as many as 15 locations. The California-based burger chain also has a new regional office under construction in Franklin, Tennessee, just south of Nashville.
"I've fallen in love with really the whole state," President Lynsi Snyder-Ellingson told the Memphis Business Journal—and it looks like they'll have a big presence there. Here's a list of 35 possible locations the company is considering in Tennessee:
Nashville: 10 to 15 stores
Clarksville
Cookeville
Jackson
Memphis: four to five stores
Chattanooga: two to three stores
Knoxville: three to five stores
Morristown
Tri-Cities: two to three stores
If In-N-Out moves forward with all of them, Tennessee won't be far behind Texas, which currently has 43 restaurants.
For those who are new to In-N-Out, the company's name comes from its trend-setting origins as a drive-through restaurant. In-N-Out is known for still using fresh beef patties rather than frozen, and restaurants slice their own fries and serve shakes made with real ice cream.
In-N-Out isn't the only burger chain that's expanding in Tennessee. Texas-based Whataburger has restaurants set to open this year in Chattanooga and Knoxville, as well as its first-ever restaurants in the state of North Carolina.
