The emotional sports drama, which is set to release on 20 June, sees Aamir playing a strict basketball coach who ends up training a group of intellectually disabled children. Genelia plays his love interest in the film, and though her role is short, it's left a strong mark on her.

Her return to Aamir Khan's production house is also a bit of a full-circle moment. Fans still remember her as the lovable Aditi from 'Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na', which was backed by Aamir. While that film was a light-hearted love story, 'Sitaare Zameen Par' is more intense and emotional.

The recently released trailer gave fans a glimpse of Aamir Khan in a completely new role. Far from the gentle art teacher he played in 'Taare Zameen Par', this time Aamir is a grumpy, frustrated basketball coach. He's short-tempered, tough, and not easy to please, but he's given the task of training a team of special children.

Actor Imran Khan had a short but impactful time in the movies in the late 2000s-early 2010s. The actor appeared in films like Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Na and Delhi Belly in this period which continue to be loved by his fans. In a new interview, Imran shared that people around his uncle Aamir Khan, who was also the producer of Delhi Belly, had a very negative reaction to the Abhinay Deo film. He recalled that despite the negative reactions, Aamir stood by the movie. In a conversation shared on the YouTube channel Scene1Take1, Imran said that after they finished shooting the film, they had a small screening with the first cut. This was at Aamir's office and a few people, including Imran, Abhinay, writer Akshat Verma, a few of Aamir's friends and some staff members from the office were present at the screening. 'When it ended, Aamir's very close family friend, he said, 'Aamir what have you done? What have you made?' He pointed at me and said, 'Tu iska career barbaad kar dega (You will destroy his career).' He said, 'Aamir, tu meri maan (listen to me), don't release this film. Bury the negative,'' he said. Imran Khan recalled that Aamir Khan's security personnel at the time also disliked the film.
