War 2 Global Advance Bookings Day 1: Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR's Film Earns Rs 29 Crore

The much-anticipated War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani, has wrapped up its global day-one advance bookings on a surprisingly modest note. The film has raked in a total of Rs 29 crore in pre-sales worldwide, Rs 20.57 crore from India and Rs 11 crore from overseas, despite sky-high expectations.
Early estimates by Sacnilk peg its gross at around ₹32.21 crore in India (including block seats) across all languages.
While advance numbers surged briefly after Telugu states opened bookings, touching a peak of over 20,000 ticket sales per hour on BookMyShow, the final figures are considered underwhelming for a film from the YRF Spy Universe.
War 2 Box Office Expectations Remain High
Despite the average advance sales, War 2 is still projected to open strong on Friday. Industry trackers estimate a Rs 50 crore net opening in India, with Rs 27–28 crore from the Hindi version and Rs 22 crore from the Telugu version. On the international front, the film is expected to rake in USD 2.3–2.5 million (Rs 20–22 crore), pushing the global day 1 gross closer to Rs 80 crore.
The film's underwhelming pre-sales have put the spotlight on audience reception. War 2 now heavily relies on positive word of mouth to carry momentum through the weekend.
Rajinikanth's Coolie Surpasses War 2
Superstar Rajinikanth is proving to be a real deal. He has once again displayed his unmatched box office dominance with his gangster action drama film Coolie. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film has shattered records with a staggering Rs 100 crore in advance bookings for its opening weekend.
With Rs 38 crore already collected for day 1 in India alone and Rs 45 crore from overseas, Coolie has outpaced War 2's day 1 advances by more than 4 times. This highlights the enormous fan base of Rajinikanth and the anticipation surrounding the Tamil blockbuster.
War 2 Storyline And Cast
War 2 marks the sixth installment in Yash Raj Films' Spy Universe. The action drama sees Hrithik Roshan reprise his role as Major Kabir Dhaliwal, but this time the stakes are even higher as he has now gone rogue. Jr NTR makes his Bollywood debut as elite agent Vikram, sent to track down and eliminate Kabir. The film promises globe-trotting thrills, jaw-dropping stunts, tense face-offs, and emotional stakes that aim to deepen the franchise's appeal.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film also stars Kiara Advani, adding another layer of intrigue to the already star-studded ensemble.
