Google Pixel 10 Pro XL now spotted in the Geekbench database
Now, the same user has seemingly run Geekbench 6 on the same two devices, and you can see the results below.
The Pixel 10 Pro XL manages a single-core score of 2,296 and a multi-core score of 6,203, versus its predecessor's 1,889 and 4,247, respectively.
It is thus a massive improvement, especially in the multi-core score - that's a 46% uplift. In the single-core score it's only 21% better, but that's still something, of course.
This benchmark run has revealed the Tensor G5 CPU's configuration. It has one core clocked at 3.78 GHz, five cores clocked at 3.05 GHz, and two cores clocked at 2.25 GHz. The Pixel 10 Pro XL which ran the benchmark has 16GB of RAM and unsurprisingly boots Android 16, which is the version the entire Pixel 10 family should launch with.
Speaking of that launch, the official announcement is tomorrow, on August 20, at 10 AM local time in California. Stay tuned.

It wasn't just new hardware that Google introduced today with the introduction of the Pixel 10 series. The company also released some software as it pushed out Android 16 QPR2 Beta 1. This is the first Beta release for the Quarterly Platform Release (aka Pixel Feature Drop) that is expected to be dropped by Google in December. The Android 16 QPR1 Beta release cycle concluded with the Beta 3.1 update that Google pushed out five days ago. The Android 16 QPR1 release is expected to take place sometime in September. Android 16 QPR2 Beta 1 is software version (BP41.250725.006) and it can be installed on the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a, Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel 9a, and Pixel Tablet. Pre-order at Amazon The biggest change so far in Android 16 QPR2 Beta 1 are the new buttons for themed icons found in the Wallpaper & style page that you can access by tapping the Settings button on your Pixel. After you get to the Wallpaper & style page, tap on the Home screen option and then on Icons. After installing the new Beta release, you'll find three options under Icons: Default-keeps the icons in the default theme that you are probably used to seeing. Minimal-this draws the main color theme from your wallpaper and uses it to create a new theme for your icons. Create-while this button doesn't do anything at the moment, it is the most intriguing because it suggests that users will be able to create custom icons in the future. Pressing this button now brings up a little notification that says, "App isn't installed." By the way, if you were thinking about leaving the Beta program and receiving the stable version of QPR1 without having to wipe your device, you can do it by opting out of the QPR Beta program before you install QPR2 Beta 1. To opt-out, tap this link to head to the Android Beta for Pixel website. Press the rectangle that says, "View your eligible devices," and you'll be sent to a page where you can opt-out of the QPR Beta program. But do not install the new QPR2 Beta 1 update. Instead, wait for the stable version of QPR1 to be released. If you've already installed QPR2 Beta 1, do not opt-out of the Beta program or else you'll be required to wipe your phone. Google will finally allow you to change the icon shapes on Pixel's home screen. Here's what you need to know.
Today, Google launched the Pixel 10, but that's far from everything new from the company. Along with the device premiere, we've also got the latest Android Canary update, which brings a long-awaited icon personalization ability for the home screen of Pixel devices. The August 2025 Android Canary update adds the ability to customize the shapes of the icons on the home screen. Spotted by Android Authority, the customization option allows you to choose one of five preset shapes. Once you open the Wallpaper & Style app, you will notice that the Icons menu has changed. It now allows you to enable icon theming and switch the default circle-shaped icons to something else. The other options are a square, four-sided cookie, a seven-sided cookie, and an arch. It was an option on the Pixel Launcher with Android 12, but it was later removed. The change first surfaced in an early beta version of Android 16 last year. In March, a more robust version of it was spotted in the code of the Android 16 Beta 3 release. Then, a menu with six shapes was uncovered. Those were the same five shapes we're getting in the current Canary update, and an extra complex clover option, which is now design changes might seem innocuous at first, but they're quite significant. Icon shapes could easily clash with the contents of some icons, which might be the reason why one of the shapes we've seen earlier is now gone. That's also an easy way to change the appearance of a home screen drastically. Android has always been famous for providing great customization options. Devices like the Pixel 10 and Galaxy S25 Ultra allow much easier customization than the iOS-powered iPhone 16. That's why all finalists in our home screen contest are from Android phones. I love having the opportunity to customize my devices, but I rarely do it. Whenever I've tried changing my home screen too much, I end up with a barely usable setup and shortly return to the default. That's why such a change is not a deal breaker for me, but I appreciate it.
