Charlton Athletic have signed former Luton Town defender Amari'i Bell on a free transfer.
The 31-year-old left the Hatters at the end of his deal this summer and has agreed a two-year contract with the newly promoted Championship side.

The Jamaica international joined Luton in 2021 and helped the club win promotion to the Premier League two years later.
He played 21 games in the top flight before Luton were relegated a year ago, and was a regular in the side that dropped to League One last season.
Bell has won 28 caps for Jamaica and scored against Panama in their Concacaf Gold Cup match last month.
"Amari'i's someone I know well. I signed him at Luton and he did fantastically well for me," Charlton manager Nathan Jones told the club website.
"He knows how I want to play, he has Championship and Premier League experience, and he's a wonderful athlete with pace and power.

"He will add to the group and we're really delighted because left-sided centre-halves are very difficult to come by."
Bell added: "It's a fresh start for me and one that I'm looking forward to as Charlton are on the way back up.
"It's another chance to work with Nathan who is a great manager that knows how to get the best out of his players, and he certainly does for me. It's going to be a great time."

Rangers boss Martin coy on Vardy links

Rangers manager Russell Martin has refused to rule out a move for veteran striker Jamie Vardy. Vardy, 38, scored nine Premier League goals for Leicester City last season but could not prevent them being relegated to the Championship and left upon the expiry of his contract earlier this summer. Advertisement He scored exactly 200 goals for Leicester in 500 appearances across a 13-year stint which included two promotions, an FA Cup winner's medal and an unforgettable Premier League triumph in the 2015-16 season. Reports in Italy on Sunday suggested Genoa have failed in a bid to lure the former England international to Serie A. Rangers have also been mentioned as a potential destination and Martin was asked directly if Vardy is a target after a 2-2 pre-season draw against Belgian champions Club Brugge. "I think I've been asked about so many players," Martin said. "Some miles away, some on the money. So basically, I'm not going to give you an answer on that. Advertisement "But I guess you'll find out who's real and who's not in the next few weeks." Rangers have also been linked with defenders Conor Coady and Nasser Djiga and Martin said he expects "the squad to look different in a week's time". "I think we definitely want to do more, for sure," the former Southampton manager said. "And also probably some players need to move on as well at some point because the squad's going to start looking very big and very heavy."

Bernardo Silva and Ruben Dias issue words in final respects to Liverpool's Diogo Jota in Gondomar

Manchester City's Bernardo Silva and Ruben Dias have issued their final respects to the late Diogo Jota in his hometown of Gondomar in Portugal this weekend. The Liverpool forward died in a car crash last week aged 28, alongside his brother and fellow professional footballer Andre Silva (25) in the accident, which took place in the Spanish province of Zamora. Advertisement The Guardia Civil told BBC Sport that the brothers had died around 00:30 local time on Thursday, after their Lamborghini left the road following a tyre blowout while overtaking another vehicle and then catching fire. Diogo Jota had only recently married his long-term partner Rute Cardoso, with whom he had three children, with their ceremony taking place just 11 days before the road traffic accident in Spain. Issuing a statement on the accident and death of their attacking star, Liverpool said they 'are devastated' at the loss, while his former club Wolves said in their own statement, 'We are heartbroken'. Over the course of Friday and Saturday, Manchester City's Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva joined family and friends in the town of Gondomar in Portugal to pay their final respects to Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva. Advertisement Issuing a short interview this weekend, Bernardo Silva said of his compatriot, 'I can't even imagine the pain of the family, of Rute [Diogo Jota's wife], the children, the parents. For Andre and for Jota. 'A great friend of all of us. His career, although not most important, speaks for itself. He didn't train at any big team and took the most difficult path. His passion, will and determination allowed him to succeed in life and have a brilliant career.' The Manchester City midfielder continued, 'More important, as a person… the memories that remain… Jota will always be in our hearts. He will always be present at every breakfast, lunch, dinner, national team get-together, PlayStation or card game.' Earlier in the week, Ruben Dias penned on his social media channels, 'I still can't believe it. You won your first Premier League, we won Nations League together, you married… It doesn't make any sense.' Advertisement The central defender added, 'We won't forget you; the man… the father… the brother… the son and the tireless and talented companion you have always been on the field. May you both rest in peace.' Diogo Jota and André Silva were honoured by family, friends and teammates at a joint funeral on Saturday, as hundreds of locals and supporters gathered at the Igreja Matriz in Gondomar, where the brothers are from. The funeral also brought together huge names from across the football world, including Jota's teammates Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson, who were seen carrying floral tributes into the church ahead of the ceremony. Al Hilal's Joao Cancelo and Ruben Neves – who were visibly upset during a minute's silence at the FIFA Club World Cup before their defeat to Fluminense in the quarter-final – also made the funeral, with the latter carrying Jota's coffin into the church. Allan Saint-Maximin accuses Mourinho's Fenerbahce side of giving him 'doping products'

Former Newcastle United attacker Allan Saint-Maximin has made a startling allegation about his spell at Fenerbahce with former Roma boss Jose Mourinho. Speaking on the Zack Nani Podcast, Saint-Maximin claimed Fenerbahce tried to pressure him into breaking anti-doping rules. The winger, who joined the club on loan last season from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli, made the allegation while explaining why the team failed to win the league title. Advertisement 'Jose Mourinho (Fenerbahce manager) gave everything to be champions. But unfortunately, the club was surrounded by factors other than football,' claimed Saint-Maximin. 'To give you an example, they even tried to dope me. People don't know these things. You cannot speak openly because you'll be threatened. They say, 'If you talk, we will do this or that.' Sometimes you find yourself in situations that go beyond football.' Upon witnessing the chaos his comments caused, Saint-Maximin added more in a post on X. 'I see that things are going all over the place on X, so I'm going to clarify what I said. I was talking about those people around the club who are ready for anything,' he wrote. Advertisement 'In my case, when I was sick, they practically gave me a treatment that's considered a doping product. I'm unsure for what purpose this team of doctors did that.' Unsurprisingly, the Turkish giants responded to Saint-Maximin's allegations with a statement of their own. 'By distorting the facts regarding the medical treatment he received following a health issue, the player has attempted to mislead the public and damage the reputation of our club.' 'As Fenerbahce Sports Club, we hereby inform the public that we will exercise all our legal rights against these misleading statements and any attempt to undermine our institutional reputation.'
