Jason Kelce defends himself after debuting new look in podcast featuring Taylor Swift: 'Don't hate me'

Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce defended himself on social media this week after his new look in the recent "New Heights" episode featuring pop star Taylor Swift turned some heads on social media.
Fans tuning into Wednesday night's premiere, which at one point had reached over 1.2 million viewers, pointed out that eldest Kelce brother appeared to have dyed his salt and pepper facial hair black.
He also appeared to have dyed his hair a similar color.

In response to former NFL quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick commenting on X that he felt "betrayed" to a teaser clip of the episode, Kelce defended the new look.
"I promise the dye was for a good reason, don't hate me," Kelce wrote without establishing what the "good reason" was.
Kelce's new look debuted during Swift's first appearance on the podcast, where she unveiled her 12th studio album, "The Life of a Showgirl."

In addition to discussing her love story with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, the trio discussed Swift's new-found love for football.
"Jason, on our first date, I legitimately asked him what it was like when the Chiefs played the Eagles in the Super Bowl, and he looked across the field across the line of scrimmage and saw his brother standing on the other, like five feet in front of him on the field," she recalled.
"He didn't even look at me. Like, I now know what an insane question that was. … I thought everyone was on the field at the same time."

Swift then detailed how her lack of knowledge of football quickly turned into a passion, recalling how excited she was when the Chiefs drafted wide receiver Xavier Worthy in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
"I became obsessed with it. I became a person who was running through the halls of my house screaming, 'We drafted Xavier Worthy!' My friends are like, 'Who body-snatched you? What do you mean we drafted Xavier Worthy?"

Interestingly, Lenee is a fan of the Green Bay Packers. Over the last couple of years, Hunter has lavished Lenee with two expensive gifts -- a Tesla Model X and a custom Mercedes-Benz AMG G63 BRABUS 800. Lenee returned the favor by gifting Hunter a Ram truck for his 21st birthday. Could the Jaguars Be Poised To Bounce Back This Year? Jacksonville has won a combined 13 games over the last two seasons after getting hot down the stretch of the 2022 season and advancing to the divisional round of the NFL playoffs in 2022. The team is hoping that quarterback Trevor Lawrence, the $275 million man, will bounce back after a weak and injury-riddled 2024 campaign. He threw for 2,045 yards, 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions and completed 60.6% of his pass attempts while missing seven games due to a concussion and shoulder injury. Hunter should give him a reliable target on offense. The 22-year-old caught 98 passes and registered 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns while also recording 11 passes defended and four interceptions in 2024. The Jaguars badly need some studs on defense, and they could also use another viable playmaker other than wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., who had a stellar rookie campaign last year. They likely won't make the playoffs in a crowded AFC, but perhaps they could take a big jump forward and make the race for the postseason interesting as long as Hunter lives up to story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Aug 5, 2025, where it first appeared.

The two have one of the most high-profile relationships, not just in the NFL but in all of sports and entertainment, even though some football fans find the attention it has attracted annoying. Kelce and Swift recently announced that the pop superstar will make an appearance by posting a teaser video on Instagram. NFL reporter Terry Rutledge couldn't contain her excitement over the news. 'OMGGGGGGGGGG,' Rutledge commented on Instagram. When Swift hosted Saturday Night Live in Season 35 on November 7, 2009, she was just two weeks away from the 2009 American Music Awards, where she was the most-nominated artist. It was also just two months after the VMAs, when Kanye West interrupted her acceptance speech for Best Female Video. Swift's huge year included this sketch from her double-duty episode, in which she met chaotic celebrity interviewers Brady Trunk (Bill Hader) and Anastasia Sticks (Kristen Wiig). As the sketch starts, Swift immediately claims to be a big fan of Brady, Anastasia, and their Hollywood Dish show. They're flattered, but not flattered enough to go easy on the singer."Six American Music Award nominations. Not bad!" may seem like an innocuous beginning, but Swift is quickly thrown by Brady and Anastasia's unnerving facial expressions and synchronized head movements. "I'm sorry, is everything okay?" Swift asks. "It's just you're nodding a lot, and I thought maybe you were trying to tell me something." "Oh, no, no, no! We just don't want to talk while you're talking," Wiig's character explains.
