Look Out, Tesla: Ionna EV Charging Stations Are Here, and They're Good

Ever since the debut of the first Tesla Supercharger station, non-Tesla EV drivers have wondered, "Why can't someone else do that?" Which is to say, why can't anyone else build DC fast-charge stations that are reliable and located in close proximity to civilization—restaurants, a downtown, or at least a convenience store? The general answer is that a quality EV charging network requires the backing of an organization that's well funded, organized, and motivated, and the non-Tesla charge ecosystem has always been a patchwork of half-interested dabblers slapping up fickle chargers in the trash-strewn corners of your local big-box parking lot. But I am pleased to say there is hope, for I have visited an Ionna charger, and it's everything that chargers should have been from the start.
Ionna is funded by eight automakers: BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, and Toyota. (Notably absent from that list is Volkswagen, which probably regards Electrify America as its court-ordered contribution to the cause.) The organization's goal is to build out a charge network to rival Tesla's, even while embracing Tesla's NACS plugs. That means fast, reliable charging, in appealing locations. I visited the first Ionna station, in Apex, North Carolina, and it's proof that Tesla isn't the only company that can figure out how to do this.
I arrived in a Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, a fine candidate for a fast charge. The Apex Ionna is at a repurposed gas station a block from shops and restaurants downtown, and I initially pulled up to the wrong place. What I thought was a charger was in fact a windshield washer fluid dispenser mounted above an air compressor—what a great idea.
The chargers, which wear the same vaguely Gulf blue livery, are out back. They're handsome, with a vaguely retro design, four cords with NACS Tesla plugs, and six for the Hyundai's CCS format. All the chargers are 400 kW, and there's no proprietary app required. Swipe a card and you're in business. The greeting screen at the chargers advertised an introductory price of $0.48 per kWh, which equates to "somewhat less than you'd pay for gas for a given amount of mileage."
There's nothing much to say about the rest of the charge process, which is the best thing I can say about it. I watched the charge rate climb near 200 kW, and then I wandered off to explore the rest of the twee-ly named Rechargery.
There was a food truck parked outside and not yet open, but its proprietor soon arrived and opened the bakery and coffee shop inside. There's a lounge area with desks for working, bathrooms, and even two conference rooms that you can reserve and unlock via an app, if your grind mindset extends to business meetings while you charge. Nobody was using those, but a Polestar 2 driver walked in, saw the wall-mounted arcade console, and declared, "This is sick!" By the time I finished my coffee and a cinnamon roll, the 5 N was charged up and ready to go.
None of this was revolutionary, and yet it was. The first time I had to charge an electric car, a Nissan Leaf, I had to plug it into a wall outlet in a ground-level hotel room overnight. I've encountered more out-of-order chargers than I can remember, spent 24 hours on a Level 2 charger, and waited in line just to get a turn at a terrible charger in a desolate parking lot. The best experiences were always at Tesla Superchargers, and those were a walled garden of competence. But now Superchargers are available to non-Teslas, and Ionna's chargers are offering an even better product to anyone with an EV. There is competition in the realm of chargers, finally.
The Ionna in Apex shows what the future of charging can look like. Now all they have to do is build a few thousand more.

Why China's auto, tech giants threaten Tesla's self-driving future

By Norihiko Shirouzu AUSTIN, Texas (Reuters) -Chinese electric-vehicle makers led by BYD beat Tesla in the competition to produce affordable electric vehicles. Now, many of those same fierce competitors are pulling into the passing lane in the global race to produce self-driving cars. BYD shook up China's smart-EV industry earlier this year by offering its 'God's Eye' driver-assistance package for free, undercutting the technology Tesla sells for nearly $9,000 in China. 'With God's Eye, Tesla's strategy starts to fall apart,' said Shenzhen-based BYD investor Taylor Ogan, an American who has owned several Teslas and driven BYD cars with God's Eye, which he called more capable than Tesla's 'Full Self-Driving' (FSD). It's not just BYD. Other Chinese auto and tech companies are offering affordable EVs with FSD-like technology for a relative pittance. China's Leapmotor and Xpeng, for instance, offer systems capable of highway and urban driving in $20,000 vehicles. A slew of Chinese firms are chasing the same technology, an industry push backed by China's government. BYD's assisted-driving hardware costs are far lower than Tesla's, according to analyses performed for Reuters by companies that dismantle and analyze vehicles for automakers. The comparisons, which have not been previously reported, show that BYD's costs to procure components and build a system with radar and lidar are about the same as Tesla's FSD, which doesn't have such sensors. That undercuts Tesla's unusual technological approach, which aims to save costs by nixing such sensors and relying solely on cameras and artificial intelligence. The rising competition from Chinese smart-EV players is among the chief problems confronting Tesla CEO Elon Musk after his rocky tenure as a Trump administration advisor as he refocuses on his business empire - as Tesla vehicle sales are tanking globally. The stakes are made higher by a moment-of-truth challenge this month in Tesla's home base of Austin, Texas, where it plans to launch a robotaxi trial with 10 or 20 vehicles after a decade of Musk's unfulfilled promises to deliver self-driving Teslas. Tesla did not respond when reached for comment about its Chinese competitors. Previously, Musk has described Chinese car companies as the most competitive in the world. Chinese competition was one factor driving Tesla's strategic pivot away from mass-market EVs last year, when Reuters reported it had killed plans to build an all-new EV expected to cost $25,000. Musk has since staked Tesla's future instead on self-driving robotaxis, the hopes for which now underpin the vast majority of the automaker's stock-market value of roughly $1 trillion. Now Tesla faces the same stiff competition on vehicle autonomy from many of the same Chinese automakers who undercut its affordable-EV plans. Adding to the challenge are tech firms including Chinese smartphone giant Huawei, which supplies autonomous-driving technology to major Chinese automakers. Short of full autonomy, today's driver-assistance systems offer a critical competitive edge in China, the world's largest car market, where Tesla sales are falling amid a protracted price war among scores of homegrown EV brands. Tesla is further handicapped by China's regulations preventing it from using data collected by Tesla cars in China to train the artificial intelligence underpinning FSD. Tesla has been negotiating with Chinese officials, so far without success, to get permission to transfer such data back to the United States for analysis. Tesla's competitors in China do benefit from subsidies and other forms of policy support from Beijing for advanced assisted driving technology. Their advantages also stem from another consequential factor: cut-throat smart-EV competition that has characterized their industry over the past decade. The resulting EV boom created economies of scale and the industry's tendency to forgo some profit margins to expand new technologies' market penetration quickly, leading to lower manufacturing costs. STREETS OF SHENZHEN BYD investor Ogan, of Shenzhen-based Snow Bull Capital, has a front-row seat to China's autonomous-tech battleground. He recently drove several BYD models equipped with God's Eye, he said, and didn't have to take over driving in any of them while traveling the congested streets of Shenzhen, a bustling southern China megalopolis of 18 million people. Another notable smart-EV player in China is Huawei, experts say. Huawei lends its technology and branding to a half dozen automakers including heavyweights Chery, SAIC and Changan, and has lower-profile partnerships with more than a dozen other carmakers, Huawei representatives said. Reuters journalists rode in an Aito M9 — a luxury electric SUV from Seres with Huawei driver-assistance technology — as it navigated Shenzhen roadways in April. With a driver's hands off the wheel, the vehicle exited a highway seamlessly into a congested urban zone, where the M9 proceeded cautiously and slowed to a crawl as a construction worker appeared like he might walk into the roadway. At one point the vehicle turned right and slowly drifted left to avoid two men unloading boxes from a parked truck. The vehicle then parallel parked itself at Huawei's Shenzhen headquarters. Huawei was among several Chinese companies, including automakers Zeekr, Changan and Xpeng, that touted progress towards fully-autonomous cars at April's Shanghai auto show, even as Beijing announced a new marketing crackdown on terms such as 'smart' and 'intelligent' driving in the wake of a deadly crash in a Xiaomi vehicle involving driver-assistance technology. Huawei said it's ready to undergo a new validation regime being developed by Chinese regulators to certify so-called Level 3 driving systems, meaning they are capable enough to allow drivers to look away unless notified by the system to take over. Zeekr, a luxury brand of China auto giant Geely, also plans to soon sell cars with Level 3 systems. Tesla has yet to release such an "unsupervised" version of FSD because its technology needs more training to operate without a driver's hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. Tesla plans to launch self-driving robotaxis in Austin this month. Little is known about its plans. The company has said it aims to initially deploy between 10 and 20 fare-collecting driverless robotaxis in restricted geographic areas of the city, which Tesla has not publicly identified. 'GOD'S EYE' ON THE CHEAP Chinese EV makers are moving quickly to develop driver-assistance systems in a market where car-buyers are demanding them at a faster pace than in other regions, analysts say. Their ability to do so at lower costs poses the biggest threat to Tesla's new autonomy-based business model. BYD buyers can get an FSD-comparable version of God's Eye as a standard feature in cars priced at about $30,000. The cheapest FSD-equipped Tesla in China is a Model 3 selling for about $41,500. According to an analysis by A2MAC1, a Paris-based tear-down firm that benchmarks components, the mid-level God's Eye version most comparable to Tesla's FSD runs on an Nvidia computing chip with data collected through 12 cameras, five radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and one lidar sensor, at a cost of $2,105. That compares to $2,360 for Tesla's FSD, which uses cameras without sensors and two AI chips, the firm estimates. Cameras, radar and ultrasonic sensors are 40% cheaper in China than comparable devices in Europe and the United States, A2MAC1 estimates. Lidar sensors cost about 20% less, the firm says. Sensor costs have fallen because China's EV boom created economies of scale, said A2MAC1 engineer Elena Zhelondz. The fierce competition also pushed carmakers and suppliers to accept lower profits on driver-assistance equipment, she said. BYD's 22% gross margin will likely fall as it gives away God's Eye but it will benefit from a vehicle-sales boost, said Chris McNally, head of global automotive and mobility research for advisory firm Evercore. MORE CARS, MORE MILES, BETTER AI Falling behind the Chinese brands on driver-assistance technology would compound Tesla's challenges in China, where it's already losing market share to rivals including BYD, which sells an entry-level EV for less than $10,000. The growing scale of BYD and others could also provide a technological advantage: Racking up more miles on China roads helps train the AI technology needed to perfect automated-driving systems. BYD has a 'clear and ongoing market-share driving advantage' over Tesla in gathering such on-road data to refine God's Eye, Evercore's McNally said, adding that advantage might only increase as offering God's Eye for free helps sell more BYD vehicles. BYD's scale also helps lower costs by providing uncommon leverage over suppliers. In November, a BYD executive in charge of passenger-vehicle operations wrote to suppliers telling them that the automaker sold 4.2 million vehicles last year (more than double the number of Teslas sold) because of 'technical innovation, economies of scale, and a low-cost supply chain.' The executive noted the new year would likely bring more growth, but also fiercer competition. Without specifically mentioning God's Eye, he ended the letter by asking the suppliers for an across-the-board 10% price cut on all parts and systems starting on January 1, calling the new year a final 'knockout round.' President Donald Trump said he plans to keep the White House's Starlink internet service and Tesla vehicle he bought. "I may move the Tesla around a little bit, but I don't think we'll be doing that with Starlink. It's a good service," Trump told reporters on Monday. He did not specify where the Tesla vehicle could be moved. "I have a lot of locations. I had so many locations that I don't know what to do with them all," Trump said on Monday. Trump was speaking at the Invest America Roundtable event when he was asked about his relationship with Elon Musk, who runs Tesla and Starlink parent company SpaceX. Musk was a prominent backer and supporter of Trump, but their relationship appeared to break down last week. Musk publicly kicked off the row by criticizing Trump's signature tax bill. He also agreed with an X post that called for Trump's impeachment before deleting it. In March, The New York Times reported that the White House had installed Musk's satellite internet service. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told The Times that Starlink would "improve Wi-Fi connectivity on the complex." Trump bought a red Tesla Model S during a White House event in March. He said the purchase was a show of support for Musk. On Thursday, Trump told reporters that he was "very disappointed" at Musk's recent behavior. The president later threatened to cancel the subsidies and contracts that Musk's businesses had received from the government, calling it "the easiest way to save money in our Budget." A senior White House official confirmed to Business Insider on Friday that Trump was considering selling or giving away the car. Trump struck a more conciliatory tone on Monday. "Look, I wish him well. You understand? We had a good relationship, and I just wish him well," Trump told reporters. But when asked if he would speak to Musk soon, Trump said he had not thought about it. "I can imagine he wants to speak to me. I would think so. If I were him, I would want to speak to me and maybe he also already called. You have to ask him whether or not he has already called. But I would have no problem with it," Trump said. Consolidated Financial Results Net sales of $126.8 million Gross margin of 30.7% Operating loss of $1.5 million and net loss attributable to common shareholders of $14.5 million Adjusted EBITDA (a Non-GAAP measure) of $12.6 million, or 9.9% Net bookings of $71.0 million, representing a book-to-bill ratio of 0.56x (as described below, gross bookings during the third quarter were $107.4 million, representing a book-to-bill ratio of 0.85x) Funded backlog of $708.1 million and revenue visibility of approximately $1.2 billion GAAP cash flows provided by operations of $2.3 million Ken Traub, Chairman, President and CEO, stated: "We are pleased to report that our transformation plan is gaining traction and notable progress is already evident in our improved performance. Third Quarter Fiscal 2025 Consolidated Results Commentary Consolidated net sales were $126.8 million in the third quarter, a decrease of 1.0% compared to the prior year period and an increase of 0.2% sequentially from last quarter. Net sales in the Terrestrial and Wireless Networks ("T&W") segment were higher compared to the prior year period due to changes in products and services mix, including approximately $3.0 million of incremental NG-911 services revenue in the more recent period due to reaching an agreement with a statewide customer to retroactively invoice for certain recurring services provided in the past. Net sales in the Satellite and Space Communications ("S&S") segment were lower compared to the prior year period due to decreased net sales of troposcatter solutions to the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army, as both contracts wind down as anticipated. This was offset in part by higher net sales of SATCOM solutions, including VSAT and similar equipment sales to the U.S. Army and satellite ground infrastructure solutions. Consolidated gross profit was $38.9 million, or 30.7% of consolidated net sales, in the third quarter, in line with the prior year period gross profit of $39.0 million, or 30.4%. The third quarter gross profit is a sequential increase from the $33.7 million, or 26.7%, reported in the immediately preceding quarter. The sequential improvement is primarily due to a more favorable sales mix and production efficiencies, as well as the inclusion of the incremental NG-911 services revenue discussed above in which most of the expenses were previously incurred. Consolidated operating loss was $1.5 million in the third quarter, compared to an operating loss of $3.5 million in the prior year period. Operating loss improvement from the prior year period is primarily the result of cost reduction initiatives which have reduced operating expenses. Operating loss in the third quarter significantly improved from the $10.3 million operating loss reported in the second quarter. The sequential improvement in the more recent quarter is due to the above improvements in gross profit and the benefit of cost reduction initiatives, lowering the Company's overall operating expenses. Operating loss in the more recent period includes, among other things: $5.0 million of amortization of intangibles; $4.3 million of restructuring costs (mainly at the parent level); $1.2 million of amortization of stock-based compensation; and $0.8 million of CEO transition costs. Consolidated net loss attributable to common shareholders was $14.5 million in the third quarter, compared to net loss attributable to common shareholders of $1.0 million in the prior year period and net loss attributable to common shareholders of $22.4 million in the immediately preceding quarter. In addition to those items discussed above, and as more fully discussed in the Company's SEC filings, net loss attributable to common shareholders in the more recent period was impacted by higher interest expense, changes in the estimated fair values of derivatives and warrants, the write-off of deferred financing costs and debt discounts and accrued dividends related to the Company's Convertible Preferred Stock. Consolidated Adjusted EBITDA (a non-GAAP measure) was $12.6 million in the third quarter, compared to Adjusted EBITDA of $11.9 million in the prior year period and Adjusted EBITDA of $2.9 million in the immediately preceding quarter. The improvements in Adjusted EBITDA are due to the factors and initiatives described above. Consolidated net bookings were $71.0 million in the third quarter, a decrease of 30.2% and 10.5%, respectively, compared to the prior year period and immediately preceding quarter. The book-to-bill ratio in the more recent quarter was 0.56x. Consolidated net bookings reflect a $36.4 million debooking related to the low margin U.S. Army GFSR contract that was protested by and ultimately awarded to the incumbent in May 2025; gross bookings for the third quarter, excluding such debooking, were $107.4 million, an increase of 5.6% and 35.3%, respectively, compared to the prior year period and immediately preceding quarter, representing a quarterly book-to-bill ratio of 0.85x. The reduction in bookings reflects, in part, a more focused product positioning and sales approach. Consolidated backlog was $708.1 million as of April 30, 2025, compared to $763.8 million as of January 31, 2025 and $798.9 million as of July 31, 2024. Revenue visibility, measured as the sum of funded backlog and the total unfunded value of certain multi-year contracts, was approximately $1.2 billion at the end of the third quarter. GAAP cash flows from operations were $2.3 million in the third quarter, an improvement from both the prior year period's cash outflows of $3.8 million and the prior quarter's cash outflows of $0.2 million, and are due primarily to the combination of the improvements in GAAP operating performance, as described above, together with improved working capital management which includes progress toward completion of contracts that are accounted for over time (that previously led to high levels of unbilled accounts receivable), including related shipments, billings and collections from customers. Satellite and Space Communications ("S&S") Segment Commentary S&S net sales were $67.6 million in the third quarter, a decrease of 5.3% compared to the prior year period and 8.3% sequentially from last quarter. Compared to the prior year period, S&S experienced lower net sales of troposcatter solutions to the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army as those two contracts wind down as anticipated, offset in part by higher net sales of SATCOM solutions (including VSAT and similar equipment sales to the U.S. Army and satellite ground infrastructure solutions). Sequentially, S&S experienced lower net sales of troposcatter solutions to the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army, offset in part by higher net sales of SATCOM solutions (primarily satellite ground infrastructure solutions). The S&S segment is executing on initiatives to grow sales of next generation products, improve gross margins and reduce operating expenses. With recent strategic wins in digital satellite communication infrastructure, resilient communications programs and multi-orbit connectivity, the S&S segment is capitalizing on its differentiated technologies and extensive customer relationships to develop new vectors for growth. As part of the Company's commitment to improve operational discipline, Steve Black recently joined the S&S leadership team from General Dynamics as the new segment Chief Operating Officer reporting to Daniel Gizinski. S&S operating income was $2.7 million in the third quarter, compared to operating income of $2.8 million in the prior year period and $1.2 million in the immediately preceding quarter. S&S operating income in the third quarter was impacted by $0.9 million of restructuring costs, compared to $0.6 million and $1.4 million, respectively, in the prior year period and immediately preceding quarter. The sequential increase in quarterly operating income primarily reflects lower selling, general and administrative expenses (due to cost reduction actions), partially offset by lower net sales and gross profit. These cost reductions represent the results of actions that have been implemented to rationalize product lines and streamline the organization, which in addition to generating cost savings, have helped to improve accountability at the site level and enhance focus on priority products, production and customer commitments. S&S net income was $2.9 million for the third quarter, compared to a net income of $1.8 million in the prior year period and $1.6 million in the immediately preceding quarter. S&S Adjusted EBITDA was $5.7 million in the third quarter, compared to Adjusted EBITDA of $7.2 million in the prior year period and $4.7 million in the immediately preceding quarter. Compared to the prior year period, Adjusted EBITDA reflects lower net sales and gross profit (both in dollars and as a percentage of related segment net sales), offset in part by lower selling, general and administrative expenses and research and development expenses. The sequential increase in Adjusted EBITDA primarily reflects lower selling, general and administrative expenses, offset in part by lower net sales and gross profit. S&S book-to-bill ratio for the third quarter was 0.26x. Excluding the aforementioned $36.4 million debooking associated with the U.S. Army GFSR contract, the segment's book-to-bill ratio was 0.80x. This ratio compares to 0.85x in the prior year period and 0.64x in the second quarter. The reduction in bookings reflects, in part, a more focused product positioning and sales approach. Key S&S contract awards and product milestones during the third quarter included: Completed initial deliveries of next generation VSAT systems to a strategically significant allied Navy partner, an important step for a comprehensive fleet modernization program that includes ships, submarines and ground-based stations – deliveries are expected to continue over a two-year period; $8.5 million in aggregate orders from three commercial customers for high-power amplifiers and frequency converters for use in airborne related applications; Incremental funding of approximately $6.8 million for continued, ongoing training and support of complex cybersecurity operations for U.S. government customers; Additional funding of approximately $5.8 million from a major U.S. prime contractor in support of NASA's Orion Production and Operations Contract ("OPOC"), commonly known as the Artemis project; Approximately $5.0 million in funded orders from a long-time international customer for the procurement of ongoing maintenance and support services related to long-range missile and rocket launch tracking systems; and In excess of $3.6 million in funded orders calling for the supply of VSAT equipment and related services for the U.S. Army. Terrestrial & Wireless Networks ("T&W") Segment Commentary T&W net sales were $59.2 million in the third quarter, an increase of 4.6% and 12.0%, respectively, compared to the prior year period and immediately preceding quarter. Compared to the prior year period, as well as sequentially, T&W experienced higher net sales of next-generation 911 ("NG-911") services and location-based solutions, offset in part by lower net sales of call handling solutions. Third quarter net sales and gross profit benefited from approximately $3.0 million of incremental NG-911 services revenue due to reaching an agreement with a statewide customer to retroactively invoice for certain recurring services provided in the past. Key growth drivers for the T&W segment are expected to include customer upgrades to next-generation core services, new cloud-based emergency response products and increasing interest from international carriers for 5G location technologies. T&W operating income was $8.4 million in the third quarter, compared to operating income of $5.7 million in the prior year period and operating income of $3.4 million in the immediately preceding quarter. Compared to the prior year period, as well as sequentially, the increase in quarterly operating income primarily reflects higher net sales and gross profit, both in dollars and as a percentage of related segment net sales and including the NG-911 services revenue discussed above in which most of the expenses were previously incurred, offset in part by higher selling, general and administrative expenses and research and development expenses. T&W net income was $8.6 million in the third quarter, compared to net income of $5.3 million in the prior year period and $3.4 million in the immediately preceding quarter. T&W Adjusted EBITDA was $13.9 million in the third quarter, compared to Adjusted EBITDA of $11.3 million in the prior year period and $8.9 million in the immediately preceding quarter. Compared to the prior year period, as well as sequentially, Adjusted EBITDA reflects those factors discussed above. T&W book-to-bill ratio in the third quarter was 0.91x, compared to 0.72x in the prior year period and 0.61x in the second quarter. Key T&W contract awards and product milestones during the third quarter included: A new contract, valued at over $27.0 million during the initial five-year term, for statewide NG-911 services for a Southeastern state; Various funded orders totaling $9.0 million for wireless location-based messaging services; Over $2.5 million of initial funding from a new international customer for location-based messaging services; More than $2.5 million of incremental funding for an existing NG-911 customer in a Midwestern state; Various funded orders, aggregating $1.4 million, primarily for location and maintenance and support services for a large wireless carrier in the U.S.; and Additional funding from a Mid-Atlantic state for ancillary network and call handling services. Additionally, T&W announced that it is nearing the completion of the development of its latest NG-911 call handling solution, which features a new architecture leveraging cloud and AI capabilities and designed to serve first responders in the U.S., Canada and Australia even better. The Company anticipates launching its revolutionary new product at this year's upcoming National Emergency Number Association ("NENA") conference. Cost-Savings and Profit Improvement Initiatives Comtech continues to execute on its transformation plan which includes a thorough review of processes, product lines, staffing levels and cost structures to implement actions to reduce costs, enable a more efficient and effective organization and improve the Company's cash conversion cycle. Comtech has ceased manufacturing operations in the U.K. More than 70 products within the S&S segment have been discontinued, and the Company is completing the final deliveries of outstanding orders for these discontinued products over the next few months. Further, the Company has reduced its global workforce by approximately 15% since July 31, 2024, which represents approximately $33.0 million in annualized labor costs. Over the course of the nine months ended April 30, 2025, severance associated with such actions approximated $2.7 million (primarily within selling, general and administrative expenses). The Company continues to evaluate additional opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs and improve profitability. While the Company continues to invest in R&D, it is obtaining customer funding for research and development to adapt its products to specialized customer requirements. During the third quarter, customers reimbursed the Company $5.9 million in connection with R&D efforts. Such amount is in addition to the $4.4 million of Comtech funded R&D reported in the third quarter of fiscal 2025. This customer-funded R&D not only offsets the Company's expenditures, but helps to ensure that R&D expenditures are aligned with customer and market demand. Capital Structure and Liquidity As previously disclosed on March 3, 2025, the Company amended its Credit Facility and Subordinated Credit Facility to, among other things, waive existing breaches under the facilities, and suspend testing of the Net Leverage Ratio and Fixed Charge Coverage Ratio covenants until the quarter ending on October 31, 2025. As of June 6, 2025, Comtech's available sources of liquidity approximate $27.3 million, consisting of qualified cash and cash equivalents and the remaining available portion of the committed Revolver Loan.
