Jay Blades charged with two counts of rape and faces court next week a year after quitting The Repair Shop
Police confirmed the allegations against the broadcaster, 55, from the village of Claverley in Shropshire.
The father-of-three fronted The Repair Shop for seven years before stepping back from presenting last year.
A spokesman for West Mercia Police confirmed charges against Blades, with a hearing set for next week.
The force told The Sun: 'Jason Blades, 55, of Claverley in Shropshire, has been charged with two counts of rape.
"He is due to appear at Telford Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.'

Property linked to crime issued with closure order
A property linked with crime in the city has been closed by police. The home at an undisclosed road in Cowley was given a closure order for anti-social behaviour. It means that any unauthorised person caught entering the property can be arrested for a criminal offence and charged with a fine or prison sentence. Commenting on Thursday afternoon, a police spokesman said: 'We are cracking down on anti-social behaviour in Oxford. 'Our neighbourhood officers in Cowley have obtained a closure order for a property associated with persistent anti social behaviour. 'You can report anti-social behaviour either online or on 101.' READ MORE: Last month, another flat in Cowley was issued with a closure order due to claims of ongoing anti-social behaviour. And this came after drugs and anti-social behaviour were identified as being among the biggest concerns in Cowley by residents. Oxford East MP Anneliese Dodds met with Cowley residents, Thames Valley Police officers and councillors to discuss concerns about crime in the area. Permanent CCTV was installed under Cowley Bridge to help prevent anti-social behaviour from taking place.

Boy, 11, hurt in south Sacramento shooting at Florin Road apartment complex
A suspect is under arrest after a shooting left an 11-year-old boy hurt in south Sacramento late Wednesday night. The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office says, just after 11:30 p.m., deputies responded near Florin Road and 55th Street to investigate reports of a shooting. At the scene, officers found an 11-year-old boy had been shot in the leg. First responders transported the boy to the hospital and the sheriff's office noted that he was expected to survive. Deputies believe the suspect, 25-year-old Roberto Rangel, had allegedly been drinking and was getting into several fights with his neighbors leading up to the shooting. Rangel was arrested and has been booked into Sacramento County Jail without bail.
