The Italian carmaker made 599 Daytona SP3s in the early 2020s but all were sold to enthusiasts ... with a final one held over.
Now that one's gone too.
The successful bidder – who is not being named - won the chance to get their hands on it during a frenzied auction in California on August 16.
The car – classified as SP3 599+1 – is certainly unusual.
Its custom features include a striking yellow and black livery, while it also boasts a 6.5-litre V-12 engine.
It is also the first factory Ferrari to feature the company's logo spelt out in the classic Giallo Modena font over the top of its exterior.
The Daytona 599 has been described by Ferrari as its "most aerodynamically efficient" road car – while others have compared it to a bumblebee.
Top speed
Regardless of how it looks it can certainly move ... and fast.
It is capable of going from zero to 62mph in just 2.85 seconds.
It can also reach 125mph from a standing start in 7.4 seconds, and has a top speed of 211mph.
A $218K Ferrari Vanishes: The Stolen Delivery Scam & Lawsuit Aftermath
The Ferrari remains one of the most iconic cars in motoring history, and it has even been honoured with a film charting its rise to dominance.
A movie telling the incredible story of the birth of Ferrari hit cinemas in 2017.
It told the story of the dawn of the car during the deadliest era of motor racing,
The 1950s saw FIVE superstar drivers killed within months of each other.
This included British legends Mike Hawthorn and Peter Collins who helped form the Ferrari team.
Tragic tale
And Ferrari: Race to Immortality tells the tragic tale through wives and girlfriends and never-before-seen archive footage.
The documentary-movie release coincided with the 70th anniversary of the birth of Ferrari and gives an exclusive inside into how it all began.
At the centre is the towering figure of Enzo Ferrari who demanded his cars be faster than anything else.
The stories of other Ferrari racing stars of the time Eugenio Castellotti, Luigi Musso and Alfonso de Portago are all included in the movie.
The SP3 599+1 was snapped up at auction, as reported by Luxury Auto News.
The bidding took place at RM Sotheby's Monterey event in California.
A spokesperson for RM Sotheby's said: 'This evening [Aug 16] RM Sotheby's, in partnership with Ferrari, set a new world record as a one-of-one 2025 Tailor Made Ferrari Daytona SP3 sold for $26 million, becoming the highest-priced new Ferrari ever sold at auction
'All proceeds from the record-breaking sale will benefit The Ferrari Foundation, a 501(c)3 public charity dedicated to advancing educational programs and community projects worldwide.'

Avoid waitlists with this low-mileage 2024 Ferrari 296 GTB for sale

A DS Automobiles survey reveals EVs are stress-busters for 75% of drivers, thanks to smoother, quieter performance. Yet 39% of Brits still find driving stressful, showing that the problem isn't the car—it's the roads. This Hybrid Channels The Spirit Of Ferrari's Racing Endeavors From the 360 Modena to the 458 Italia, the entry-level mid-engine Ferrari has been the sweet spot in the automaker's lineup for some time. The current occupant of that spot, the 296 GTB, takes a very different approach, but one that's more closely connected to Ferrari's motorsports pedigree than any of the automaker's recent road cars. Not only is the 296 GTB the current Ferrari entrant in the ubiquitous GT3 sports-car racing class, it also uses a V6 turbo-hybrid powertrain like current Formula One cars. If that sounds appealing, and you have $365,000 handy, there's currently a 2024 Ferrari 296 GTB for sale on Exotic Car Trader with just 250 miles on the odometer. Who Needs a V8? A V6 engine may seem a bit pedestrian for a Ferrari, but these engines have a proud history with the Prancing Horse well beyond the modern F1 era. A 1.5-liter V6 powered the iconic Ferrari 156 'Sharknose' that Phil Hill drove to the 1961 F1 championship, becoming one of only two Americans (along with Mario Andretti) to win an F1 driver's title. V6 engines powered numerous other Ferrari race cars in the intervening years, as well as the Dinto 246 GT road car. And while it may not have the fantastic soundtrack of the naturally-aspirated V8s used in the 360 and 458, the 296 GTB's V6 hybrid powertrain has the goods. Its 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 has an extra-wide 120-degree 'vee' angle to lower the center of gravity and provide space for the turbos to nestle between the banks, ensuring shorter plumbing and better response. An electric motor sits between the V6 and an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, with the two power sources providing 818 horsepower and 545 pound-feet of torque. That gets the 296 GTB from zoer to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 205 mph, according to Ferrari. It also lapped the automaker's Fiorano test track in 1:21—beating its predecessor, the F8 Tributo, by 1.5 seconds. Ferrari Remains Committed To Electrification, But Do Customers Care? The 296 GTB doesn't just use its electric motor to go faster around a track. A 7.4-kilowatt-hour battery pack has enough capacity for up to 15 miles of electric range, according to Ferrari. That's a capability that's becoming increasingly common in Ferrari road cars. A 296 Speciale will serve as a hybrid successor to legends like the 458 Speciale and 488 Pista, and the SF90 Straddle and the new F80 flagship hypercar use hybrid powertrains as well. These hybrids will pave the way for all-electric models, the first of which is due to be shown privately in October. But a second Ferrari EV has reportedly been pushed back to 2028 amid low enthusiasm from customers. That a non-hybrid Tailor Made SP3 Daytona one-off recently set an auction record, selling for $26 million during Monterey Car Week, shows there may be more of an appetite for the traditional Ferrari fare. Find out what it means for your route PLAN AHEAD Drivers warned as major Scots motorway set for closures for almost A MONTH Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) DRIVERS are being warned major roadworks are to begin on a busy motorway. A bridge refurbishment project is to take place, including rail and slip road upgrades, on the M8 at Junction 26 (Hillington Interchange). Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 Essential works are to begin on the M8 next month Credit: Alamy The essential works will be carried out in five phases and include significant repairs and upgrades to four key bridge structures. Amey says the £10million project will address issues including vehicle parapets, structure waterproofing, safety barriers, and carriageway surfacing. Phase One will take place from Monday, September 8, until Wednesday, October 1 and will see a contraflow on the M8 mainline carriageway at Junction 26. This will involve closing lane two and three of the eastbound carriageway and narrow running lanes to facilitate. In addition, a total closure of the M8 Junction 26 eastbound on-slip road will be implemented for the duration of Phase One. Traffic will be diverted as follows: North of Hillington Interchange for Vehicles in Renfrew/Braehead Area: Daytime traffic (6am to 7pm) wishing to use the Junction 26 on-slip road will be directed to follow Hillington Interchange to King's Inch Road and Old Givan Road to join the M8 eastbound at the Junction 25A (Braehead) on-slip road. Overnight traffic (7pm to 6am) wishing to use the Junction 26 on-slip road will be directed to follow Hillington Interchange to Renfrew Road, Shieldhall Road, and Helen Street to join the M8 eastbound at the Junction 24 (Helen Street Interchange) on-slip road. South of Hillington Interchange for vehicles in Hillington Industrial Estate area: All traffic wishing to use Junction 26 from south of the Interchange will be directed to follow Hillington Road to Paisley Road West, Helen Street, and then join the M8 eastbound via Junction 24 (Helen Street Interchange) on-slip road. Major motorway closed after car flipped on its roof sparking huge delays A 40mph speed limit will also be in effect during the project's duration, with average speed cameras in operation. Amey says construction noise will be unavoidable for the duration of the works. Suitable noise dampening measures will be implemented on-site overnight. Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout the project. Amey said in a statement: 'Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken. 'Advice is to allow for extra time to complete any journeys during this period, using alternative routes where possible. 'Various road network improvements are taking place across the M8 corridor through Glasgow and these should be considered in any journey planning.'
