Joe McElderry unrecognisable on beach holiday as one photo leaves fans surprised
Joe McElderry has been lapping up the sun - and splashing along the beach - while on an early summer holiday. The 33-year-old former X Factor winner is sunning himself on the Caribbean island of Barbados.
However, he sparked a frenzy of speculation about exactly how much of his body he would be tanning while enjoying his time in the sun. Since arriving on the Island, Joe has been sharing photos and video clips via Instagram.
And one image that he shared drew the attention of fans, as there was at least an illusion that he was sitting on a sun chair while completely naked. The singer shared a couple of snaps from a beachside balcony wit his arms and legs positioned in a way so as to cover any clothes that he was sporting.
Clearly topless, some fans questioned if he was also bare from the waste down too. He uploaded the snaps to his main feed with a simple caption stating: "Here" along with a sun emoji.
One curious fan reacted to the post and asked: "Have you got shorts on?" Another fan also wondered if the singer was nude, writing in response: "I had to look twice" along with eyes emojis.
Another post from the star showed him smiling while sitting at a beach-side table - and he also shared videos of the ocean, and a walk along the sandy beach.
Fans were also excited to see Joe showing off his muscular physique as he enjoyed himself in the sunshine. The star has been working out to prepare for a role.
The Climb singer previously explained he had been working out with former Miss Universe finalist Caroline Dixon and following a strict diet. He told Fabulous magazine: "Most of the stuff we do is killer, but in a weird way I really enjoy it."
He added: "I'm a really active person and I've done lots of charity bike rides."
Joe, from South Shields, beat runner-up Olly to win the ITV show's sixth series and competed against Rage Against the Machine for that year's UK Christmas number one. Ultimately, the rap metal group's 1992 song Killing In The Name Of made it to the top spot after music fans downloaded it en masse in protest against the show.
However, this did not stop Joe from going on to have an illustrious career. His cover of Biffy Clyro's hit song did eventually make it to number one, and he went on to be the first X Factor contestant to release a fourth album. He has seen five of his albums break the UK top 20, and two reached the top three.
It was after his success as a recording artist that Joe turned to theatre. As well as starring in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, he has appeared in productions like Cinderella and, in 2023 and 2024, a pantomime version of Pinocchio. In this production at the Royal Theatre Newcastle, he took on the role of Jiminy Cricket.
The X Factor last aired on TV in 2018, before going on a hiatus. X Factor producer Simon Cowell is currently working on the sixteenth series of BGT. Tt's been claimed that he is contracted to be head judge on the show until 2025. It has also been reported that he could move to rival broadcaster Channel 5 for other projects. It's teased he could develop new shows or even revive the likes of the X Factor.
Discussing the possibility, a source told the Sun that it would be a "huge move" for Simon, who has carved out a career in TV through the likes of the X Factor and BGT on ITV. The source further commented: "It would effectively see him turn his back on ITV after two decades which has seen him deliver them two of their biggest hits. There's a strong sense that one chapter is ending and another beginning and Channel 5 are keen to be a part of that. But they'd need to nail down a seven-figure contract to seal the deal to bring him across."

Rebecca Loos' life became 'hell' as David Beckham's 'blossomed' after 'affair'
Rebecca Loos has hit out after her world was turned upside down following the scandal she faced involving David Beckham – but his life 'blossomed' in the wake of it Rebecca Loos has hit out, claiming it was"unjust" how she suffered the consequences following her "affair" with David Beckham. The former glamour model who worked as David's personal assistant in the early 2000s sensationally claimed she and the Manchester United legend had an affair with one another. At the time, Beckham, 50, branded the allegations as "ludicrous" but never sought legal assistance to challenge the claims or any interviews that Loos gave. Following the allegations, Rebecca, 48, went on to find fame as a reality star, appearing on The Farm, Celebrity Love Island, and X Factor, before eventually turning her back on fame and finding peace as a yoga teacher in Norway. Now, she has spoken about how her life completely changed after the allegations were made public and the levels of scrutiny she faced, while David went on to become a global icon. She was branded the "sleazy senorita" and faced claims that she attempted to ruin David's marriage with Spice Girls legend, Victoria Beckham. It comes after Cruz Beckham 'steals' his dad's tiny white trunks and family have epic response. Rebecca is set to appear on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, which sees her in a completely different light, stripped back from everything she knows. It comes after the Beckham's launched a huge Netflix documentary about their lives away from the cameras. "That took me completely by surprise," she said of the Beckham documentary, adding: "Let's call it what it was: him trying to portray an image of perfection that was nothing like reality. "It felt unjust that my life was pretty hell, and his life kept going and kept blossoming. I've been accused of being a liar. I've had a lifetime of opinions around me, and I've definitely developed thick skin. "I think the public opinion now has softened, at least from what I'm gathering since the documentary came out with the Beckhams a couple of years ago. I think it is now because thanks to social media, there is a whole different following out there, which is a double-edged sword." But while she feels it's unjust, she admits some of the blame lies with her. In a press pack, Rebecca said: "I think I've definitely taken most of the blame – rightly so. It was part of my life. He was older than me, he was my boss. But I'm not someone to be silenced when I've been wronged, and that documentary took absolutely no responsibility. "When he said, 'It was so horrible to see my wife suffer,' I thought, 'Mate, think twice about the things you do.'" Like all the recruits, Rebecca faced a grilling in the show's Mirror Room. Jason Fox and Chris Oliver questioned her motives for being on the show before asking how she felt about her affair with Beckham now that she's had the time to reflect on it. In his Netflix 2023 documentary, Beckham didn't name Rebecca and failed to take any accountability. He just said: "I don't know how we got through it in all honesty," on a tricky time when he lived in Madrid. On being asked about Beckham on the Channel 4 show and what she feels about how things have played out, she added: "I was quite guarded at the beginning. I was trying to be guarded because it's not something I want to talk about the whole time. But at the same time I also wanted to be honest with them, so they were really good at getting through to me. "They're obviously professionals at this. I don't shy away from what I've been through, and I don't shy away from the decisions that I've made. They have shaped me into who I am, and I've really learnt a lot from the mistakes that I've made in my life and the things that I've done. And I really do think that being truthful is the only way to go in life. I'll stand by that forever. "It takes a lot of courage to tell the truth and to own up to mistakes that you have made, mistakes and times in your life you're not proud of. And it's very easy to just brush them under the carpet and move on. That's like the coward's way, I think, of living."

Despite this, the pair found themselves in an argument after the challenge. The boys had to answer which girl they'd couple up with - if their actual partner wasn't in the villa. Meg was left shocked when Dejon picked Yasmin, despite recent tensions with her, Shakira and Toni. The couple bickered as Dejon insisted he'd told Meg this before - but his girlfriend argued she didn't remember the conversation. In a first-look at tonight's instalment, it would appear they are still feuding. Speaking to Conor, Meg shares: "I'm not just gonna stand there. He's put Yas on a board again. "I take so much heat from these three girls. You've put on a board that you would recouple with Yas." Conor then interjected, saying Dejon "may have taken the question too literal". Meg added: "It's a challenge, I don't care about it. Love Island fans 'work out' why Dejon turned on Meg as villa's strongest couple hit the rocks days before final "At the end of the day, we're boyfriend and girlfriend. It doesn't matter." Dejon then approached, remarking: "You're going to stop talking as I'm walking past?" Hearing this, Meg repeated to her boyfriend what she'd just told Conor. She then continued: "He just gets so defensive over everything." Later on, the couple are sat together as Meg says: "I had a little chat with Yas. "Obviously, I don't know whether you know from the boys, but she wrote your name on the board yesterday. LOVE ISLAND 2025 - ALL the dumped stars so far LOVE Island 2025 is in its penultimate week. 'Worst show on TV' is ending and its biggest critics are full of regret
And Just Like That… Sex and The City fans will no longer be tormented by its divisive revival. Creator Michael Patrick King has confirmed that And Just Like That, which has regularly been branded 'the worst show on TV',is coming to an end after its third and current season. In a statement shared on Instagram, King wrote: 'And just like that… the ongoing storytelling of the Sex and the City universe is coming to an end. 'While I was writing the last episode of And Just Like That… season 3, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop. 'Along with Sarah Jessica Parker, Casey Bloys and Sarah Aubrey, we decided to end the popular series this year with a two-part finale and extended the original series order from 10 episodes to 12. 'SJP and I held off announcing the news until now because we didn't want the word 'final' to overshadow the fun of watching the season. 'It's with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years.' Despite the relentless backlash and calls for it to be over, viewers who have spent three seasons 'hate-watching' are still absolutely crushed. And Just Like That hater Tom Zohar wrote on X: 'PLEASE I DIDN'T MEAN ALL THE THINGS I SAID ABOUT YOU I LOVE YOU PLEASE DON'T LEAVE.' Another fan who loved to hate-watch, Felipe, tweeted: 'conflicted because the show is objectively terrible but i'd still watch 10 seasons of it.' Pop Culture Instagram account Deuxmoi commented: 'See what happens when you complain!!!!!' Others said they 'felt sick' and were 'devastated' but there was also a large sector of the And Just Like That audience who breathed a sigh of relief. Sex and The City was an instant movement when it launched in 1998, making Carrie Bradshaw (Parker), Miranda Hobbes, (Cynthia Nixon), Charlotte Yorke (Kristin Davis) and Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) four of the most loved women of the decade. Their influence has hardly faltered almost 30 years later. In 2021 the girls were back – well, without Samantha due to Cattrall's fall out with the rest of the cast – in And Just Like That, the reboot so many longed for but never thought would happen. The excitement was unrivalled but soon fizzled out when Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte were criticised for being unrecognisable to the women fans adored and watching Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez) felt like a punishment when we'd all been so patient. The latest series was praised for getting back on track but it also came with bizarre misfires. In one episode, Lisa Todd Wexley's (Nicole Ari Parker) dad died from a stroke. Fans noted that she claimed he'd already died back in season one. Producers did explain the issue, insisting the father mentioned in season one was her stepfather but fans weren't satisfied with the response. Parker shared a series of iconic Carrie moments and said the columnist with the wardrobe worth millions 'dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I have loved her most of all.' Davis, who starred as Charlotte for 27 years, wrote: 'I am profoundly sad. I love our whole beautiful cast and crew. 400 artisans working so hard on our show with deep love. 'And to our loyal fans, we love you forever and ever.' And Just Like That is available to stream on NOW. Got a story?
