The Steelers have high hopes for 2025, and are trying to pull out all the stops to make the upcoming campaign a successful one with a return to the playoffs.
Central to that?
Pittsburgh finally landed Aaron Rodgers after a 70-day gap between their initial meeting and the contract being signed.
And more recently? On Tuesday, the 41-year-old four-time NFL MVP announced his plan to retire after this "last dance'' season in The Steel City.
"What better place to finish,'' he said, "than in one of the cornerstone franchises of the NFL with Mike Tomlin and a great group of leadership and great guys and a city that expects you to win?''

With a quarterback finally secured for the upcoming season, Steelers training camp is up and rolling at full strength.
And speaking of coach Tomlin ...
He is overseeing a move back to an old routine for camp.
The Steelers moved their training practices to the morning last year, but this year, are going back to afternoon practices this summer.
"It wasn't hot enough last year, to be quite honest with you," Tomlin said "Heat aids in the development of physical conditioning. It makes it a more stressful environment, and that's what we go to camp for. We go to camp to get better, and if it's a little bit more miserable later in the day, man, that's what we want."

Sounds like fun.
Tomlin wants his team to be in the best condition they can be. The additional heat is going to make the squad sweat even more, increasing the intensity of practices.
So yes, Tomlin is embracing a "miserable" environment in camp.
After morning practices during the 2024 training camp, Pittsburgh got out to a 10-3 start before dropping their last four games of the season, ending 10-7. Pittsburgh's late season woes carried into the playoffs, where they lost to their AFC North rival Baltimore Ravens, 14-28.
Perhaps a more intense and heated training camp can allow the Steelers to be well-conditioned for the full season - and Rodgers' final season.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Milwaukee's Jacob Misiorowski and Pittsburgh's Paul Skenes didn't need to throw as many as 80 pitches to set new standards for velocity on Wednesday in the first matchup between these 23-year-old flamethrowers. Misiorowski struck out eight and allowed two hits and two walks in five shutout innings as his Brewers defeated Skenes' Pirates 4-2. According to Sportradar, Misiorowski averaged 99.5 mph and Skenes averaged 98.5 on their fastballs. That represented the highest combined fastball velocity by two starting pitchers in the same game since at least 2009. Misiorowski reached at least 100 mph on 19 of his 74 pitches — reaching a career-best peak of 102.4 — and Skenes got to 100 mph once out of 78 pitches. Since at least 2009, this marked the most combined 100-mph pitches by opposing starters for any game in which both reached that threshold at least once. There have been 19 times since 2000 in which a single pitcher has thrown at least 20 pitches of at least 100 mph, but in none of those instances did the opposing starter also reach 100 mph. Through his first three career starts, Misiorowski owns a 3-0 record and 1.13 ERA. He has struck out 19 while allowing only four hits and seven walks over 16 innings. Shaquill Griffin returning to Seattle Seahawks, agrees to 1-year deal
Veteran cornerback Shaquill Griffin is returning to Seattle after agreeing to terms of a new contract with the Seahawks on Wednesday. Per his agency, Griffin is signing a one-year, $3 million deal worth up to $4 million. Griffin was drafted by the Seahawks in the third round in 2017 out of UCF and made a Pro Bowl appearance in 2019. He left in free agency in 2020 and signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he only played in 19 games over two seasons after suffering a back injury. Advertisement He then played stints with the Houston Texans, Carolina Panthers and, most recently, the Minnesota Vikings. Last season, Griffin made three starts while appearing in all 17 games. He recorded 41 total tackles and two interceptions, one of which sealed a Vikings win against the Arizona Cardinals in December. Over his eight NFL seasons, Griffin has played in 106 games, defending 70 passes and intercepting nine.
