When Salman Khan CRIED during ‘Maine Pyar Kiya' shoot: 'I was 18 years old and...'

Time of India6 days ago
Bollywood's Bhaijaan Salman Khan is known for his dashing and bold personality. With a tough guy image, action-packed roles, and unbeatable screen presence, he rarely shows his soft side.
But in a surprising and touching revelation, the superstar opened up about a moment on set that left him in tears. It all happened during the filming of his much-loved debut film 'Maine Pyar Kiya', and the reason behind those tears is enough to melt hearts.
Emotional moment struck during song shoot
'Maine Pyar Kiya', released in 1989, was directed by
Sooraj Barjatya
and featured Bhagyashree as the female lead. While shooting the popular song 'Kabootar Ja Ja Ja', Salman had an unexpected and deeply emotional moment that changed everything for him.
He finally saw himself as a hero
In a heartfelt interview with Hello! Indo-Arabia, Salman shared, 'I was about 18 years old, and there was a truly memorable moment during the shoot for the song Kabootar Ja Ja Ja when I suddenly knew that this was the role for me. During several narrations, I'd imagine
Jackie Shroff
or
Anil Kapoor
in those roles, but I could never actually see myself doing big films. That moment was the first time I really felt, 'Yes, I can do this'. I had tears in my eyes.'

A letter straight from the heart
After the film's grand success, Salman reached out to his fans through an open letter. In it, he thanked them for accepting him with open arms and spoke about how he was now choosing his projects with greater responsibility.
'Here is a little something I want you guys to know about me. Firstly, I have to thank you for accepting me and for being my fans. I am doing and concentrating on good scripts to the best of my judgement, because I know that whatever I do now will be compared to Maine Pyaar Kiya.
So whenever you hear an announcement, rest assured that it is going to be a good film, and I am going to give it my 100 per cent. I love you and I hope that you will keep on loving me because the day you stop loving me, you'll stop seeing my films and that is the end of my career.
Remember, you are the people who make people like us.'
Bhaijaan's journey continues
Since that emotional moment on the set of 'Maine Pyar Kiya', Salman Khan has never looked back. Over the years, he has delivered some of Bollywood's biggest hits, earning a loyal fanbase and becoming one of the most iconic actors in the industry.
He was last seen in 'Sikandar', directed by AR Murugadoss. Fans are now eagerly waiting for his next big release, 'Battle of Galwan', directed by
Apoorva Lakhia
. The upcoming war drama is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley conflict and has already created a strong buzz.

National Awards Jury member Pradeep Nair says he opposed to 'The Kerala Story', calling it 'propaganda film': 'Others argued it's a relevant social issue'

The 71st National Film awards were announced on Friday, August 1 and 'The Kerala Story' may have won big. The film won the 'Best Director' award for Sudipto Sen and 'Best Cinematography' for Prasantanu Mohapatra. However, not everyone on the jury agreed with the decision. Filmmaker Pradeep Nair , a jury member for the Feature Film category, told Manorama that he strongly opposed the film being chosen. He called it 'propaganda' and said it unfairly showed Kerala in a bad light. 'As a Malayali on the panel, I raised serious objections. I questioned how a film that defames a state like Kerala and serves as propaganda could be considered for a national honour,' he said. Despite his strong views, Pradeep said the other jury members didn't agree with him. He added, 'I even conveyed my concerns directly to the jury chairperson. However, I was the only one who labelled it as propaganda. Others argued that, even if it was controversial, it addressed a relevant social issue.' Another film, 'Ullozhukku' by Christo Tomy, was also being considered for Best Director. But the jury chose The Kerala Story instead. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Arabian Sea Facing Apartments - Mahalaxmi, South Mumbai Lodha Bellevue Click Here Undo Pradeep said some jury members called Ullozhukku 'just a family drama,' while they felt 'The Kerala Story' dealt with a more urgent social topic. Still, 'Ullozhukku' didn't go unrecognised. It won Best Malayalam Film and Best Supporting Actress for Urvashi. The Kerala Story, directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Shah, stirred major controversy when it was released. The film tells the story of women from Kerala who are forced to convert to Islam and join ISIS. The makers said it was based on real events, claiming that 32,000 women from Kerala had been radicalised—though this number has been widely questioned. The film starred Adah Sharma , Yogita Bihani , Siddhi Idnani and Sonia Balani.

She's pink, has scuffs on face & eats popcorn chicken: Labubu doll goes missing in US city; woman offers cash & a poem

A San Francisco woman launched a desperate (and hilarious) search for her beloved pink Labubu doll "Lychee Berry" after losing it during a tipsy night out in the Castro. A now-viral missing poster features photos of Lychee Berry living its best life, posing among roses and munching on popcorn chicken like a fuzzy pink VIP. The woman last saw her ugly-cute companion on May 29, around 8-9 pm at The Mix in the Castro, according to the flyer. Special markings? Some scuffs on Lychee Berry's face—battle scars from a life of adventure. "I took her out for a night of drinking and now I regret getting too lit," the Labubu owner confessed on Reddit, adding she was offering $50 cash, one lottery ticket, and a handwritten poem to anyone who could reunite her with her tiny sidekick. "Thank you from the bottom of my broken heart!" she pleaded on the poster. Contact info on the flyer included an email, a phone number, and even a QR code for tips, in a rescue effort worthy of a missing pet—because, let's be honest, Labubus are family. While some Reddit users were sympathetic, others gave her a gentle ribbing: "It's probably in Oakland by now being sold for parts," joked one. "Just buy another one," shrugged another, clearly unfamiliar with the irreplaceable bond between a human and their gremlin-esque collectable. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Is this legal? "While OG Lychee is irreplaceable, I will hold on to Lychee Berry II tightly and take her on new adventures," the grateful owner wrote. "I am so grateful."
