Morinville holds picnic event as part of Pride Month

A town north of Edmonton started festivities for its Pride month on Sunday.
Morinville held its Pride Picnic in the park at the Ray McDonald Sports Centre Grounds on Sunday afternoon, to which people were encouraged to pack food and watch live music and drag performances, and take part in making arts and crafts among other activities.
Morinville's Pride Month will see the town 'reaffirm (its) commitment to creating a community where everyone is treated with dignity, respect and inclusion, officials said in a recent media release.
Morinville will also hold a Pride flag-raising ceremony at town hall on Tuesday.
