Hunter 2 Star Anusha Dandekar Says Jackie Shroff Makes You Laugh, Suniel Shetty Is A Prankster
Anusha Dandekar makes a fierce comeback to screens with Hunter Season 2, where she steps into the shoes of a full-blown action hero. The series, led by Suniel Shetty, takes the stakes higher this time around. Interestingly, Anusha's gritty, gun-wielding role is one of the highlights.
In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Anusha opened up about transforming into a female action star, matching Suniel Shetty's energy, doing her own stunts, and her off-screen camaraderie with the legendary Jackie Shroff.
Tell us a bit about your character in Hunter Season 2. The trailer looks intense!
I think it's really cool for female action personalities to come out. It's a great time to join that bandwagon. I don't think we have enough action girls as representatives, so I'm really happy to be one of them and I hope I do justice. I hope I make girls feel like they can kick some butt. And obviously, it's not easy being alongside somebody like Sunil Shetty, who's so good at what he does. My character, and me as a person, has to match that, right? My character has to be basically the female version of Vikram, which is Sunil Sir's character. So when I got told that, I'm like, okay, all right. The pressure and challenge is on and accepted. So I think I had a really good time doing it.
Was this your first time handling guns on set?
I've never touched a gun. When they put a gun in my hand, it felt so real. They gave me tips on like, when you shoot, you go backwards a little bit. I didn't know how to hold it, they showed me how to hold it and move it. It was pretty cool. I loved it. I've only held a gun once before — on holiday in Prague, at a shooting range — and it scared the hell out of me because it was so loud. But I actually did a good job there!

Did you miss your mark during takes?
Like I said, I had to match the character and do everything in one take. So I didn't have time to miss my shot. I did it pretty good. I don't think I did more than like two takes, maybe three.
Did you insist on doing your own stunts?
I did all of them. Obviously they always had action doubles, but no, I wanted to do all of my own. So all of it is me."
What was the most physically or emotionally challenging part of shooting?
I think it was when I had to do kicks that I've never done before or slide on the floor. Sunil sir is so seasoned, he never makes contact with the stunt guys. But I didn't know how to calculate that. The stunt guys were so sweet, they were like, just make contact with us, it's okay. That really helped.
There was a scene where Sunil sir grabs me, I walk along the wall and then kick someone in the head. One of the guys said, 'Just kick me, I have a lot of padding on.' They helped me get the timing right and let me punch and kick them.
Did you end up hurting yourself or anyone else?
No, I was hoping I didn't hurt them. I don't think I'm strong enough, but I didn't hurt myself either. I'm fine.
What was the set environment like, working with Suniel Shetty and Jackie Shroff?
Jackie sir makes you laugh. Suniel sir is a prankster on set. Don't be fooled by his very serious, demure face. He and his team are such pranksters. We had so much fun. I love stealing his food on set because he always has really yummy food. He is very generous. Jackie sir would make you laugh. They are just really kind people. They are not only inspiring but super encouraging. I really had such a fun time. I didn't feel like I was working."

As actors, how were they to work alongside on screen?
So good. I think this is really great for Sunil sir as well because it's like a graph. Everybody knows he's fantastic in comedy and action and drama but he gets to do all of it in one. I think because he's such a family man, the emotions that he has with his daughter in this really shows. He becomes a badass and he's like kicking ass. It's a really cool graph to watch him do all of that and his personality is just like a cool guy anyway.
And then Jackie sir, what can I say? He just gets into that character. They'll call action and suddenly you'll just see him with that whole personality just comes out. You're just watching like wow, this is so cool. To witness it close up and get to act alongside it — it's just super fun.

Trinity Rodman reacts to Ben Shelton's Toronto win with funny takes on tennis traditions (Image via Getty) Trinity Rodman and Ben Shelton have been a couple for less than six months. As Ben Shelton reached the semi‑finals of the National Bank Open in Toronto on August 6, 2025, the Washington Spirit forward posed questions about tennis that even he couldn't clearly explain. She turned to fans with fresh confusion and curiosity. Her post became a bridge between two sports worlds, drawing attention to etiquette, traditions, and the differences between soccer and tennis. Trinity Rodman asks tennis questions after Ben Shelton wins quarterfinal On August 6, 2025, Ben Shelton beat Alex de Minaur in Toronto in straight sets (6‑3, 6‑4) to advance to the National Bank Open semi‑finals. Trinity Rodman, 23, watched from afar and shared a TikTok video asking tennis fans for help understanding the game. She admitted that she asked Ben Shelton about tennis rules but his answers left her more confused. One question she stressed: why do players raise their hand and say 'sorry' when they win a point after the ball hits the net? She compared it to scoring off the post in soccer and apologising to the goalkeeper, something she found puzzling. She also wondered why tennis players must act so reserved after winning a point, as showing strong emotion can be seen as cocky. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like What Happens To Celebrities That Go To Jail? Undo Trinity Rodman pointed to the strict traditions at events like Wimbledon, where players and even fans wear all white, a rule she doesn't understand compared to soccer's varied jerseys. She joked that a match between Ben Shelton and Flavio Cobolli felt like a 'Spider‑Man meme' because they wore nearly identical outfits. Trinity Rodman wrapped up the video by suggesting two changes: let players choose the music during changeovers and extend the 90‑second break between games. She said long waits can cause missed bathroom breaks or lost games. Her video drew over 137 comments from fans who didn't think her questions were 'stupid'. Brad Pitt mourns mother Jane at 84 amid painful family rift
Brad Pitt's mother, Jane Etta Pitt, has died at age 84, his niece Sydney confirmed in an emotional Instagram tribute. She described Jane, a former Missouri school counselor, as having "the biggest heart" and teaching kindness, faith, and finding joy in small things. Jane, married to trucking executive William Pitt for 62 years, was the family's "glue," famously mediating disputes and attending red carpets with her Oscar-winning son. Brad last publicly acknowledged her in June, blowing a kiss during a TV interview: 'Love you, Mom'. Her death follows a January scam where fraudsters impersonated her to steal $800,000 from a woman convinced she was dating Brad. Jane's passing intensifies Brad's heartbreak over his fractured relationship with his six children. Five have publicly distanced themselves: Zahara (19), Shiloh (18), and Vivienne (16) legally dropped "Pitt" from their surnames, while Pax (20) once called him a 'world-class a--hole'. Only Knox (16) retains "Jolie-Pitt" . The rift stems from a 2016 plane incident where Angelina Jolie accused Brad of physical abuse during a drunken argument with Maddox (22). Though never charged, the children aligned with Jolie. Brad has "virtually no contact" with his adult kids and limited court-mandated visits with the minors. Despite the chasm, Brad clings to hope for reconciliation, especially with twins Knox and Vivienne. He orders their favorite foods during rare visits and "prays they'll give him a chance" . Insiders say he's "totally devastated" by the estrangement but refuses to 'give up'. Jane's death may deepen his isolation: She and William sent annual birthday cards to the grandkids but received no replies . Brad's parents last saw the children in 2014; family photos vanished from social media after 2016. As one source noted: "He loves his children and misses them. It's very sad" . For now, Brad focuses on film projects and girlfriend Ines de Ramon while navigating grief and unanswered texts to his kids.
