Anusha Dandekar Opens Up On Love Life, Reveals She Is Dating: 'Someone Very Special...'
Anusha Dandekar reveals she's dating herself, focusing on self-awareness Anusha returns in Hunter Season 2 with Suniel Shetty. Anusha Dandekar says she's taken – but there's a twist. In a world where everyone's watching who's dating whom, Anusha just threw a curveball. It's not a mystery man who's won her heart but someone else. When asked about her dating life, Anusha told News18 Showsha, 'I am dating someone very special right now. Super special. And that person… is me." She doubled down on the sentiment, explaining her journey towards deeper self-awareness and love. She said, 'No really, I'm learning to date me. I'm genuinely interested in this person. I want to sit down with them, take them to dinner, ask them questions, get to know them. I think it's important." And while most people deal with subtle pressure to 'settle down," Anusha's parents are clearly chill about her taking her time. 'Not at all. My parents are way too cool. They're like, 'If it makes you happy, do it.' So, yay! Thanks, Mom and Dad!" she said. On the topic of red flags, both hers and others', Anusha didn't hold back and said, 'Honestly… I might be a red flag!" (laughs) 'I'm figuring that out while I'm dating myself. But yeah, red flags — we all know what they are. I don't need to spell it out. The important part is not denying them. Don't convince yourself that something is okay when deep down you know it isn't." On a parting note, Anusha said, 'If you're ignoring a red flag, then maybe your red flag is allowing that. You've got to sit with yourself and ask why am I accepting this? It all comes down to being honest with yourself first." Anusha Dandekar's most talked-about relationship was with actor Karan Kundrra, who is now dating actress Tejasswi Prakash. The two dated for several years and were a regular presence at public events, making headlines for their chemistry. Anusha has also been linked to actor Jason Shah in the past. Anusha Dandekar makes a comeback to screens with Hunter Season 2, where she steps into the shoes of a full-blown action hero. The series, led by Suniel Shetty, takes the stakes higher this time around. First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Hunter 2 Star Anusha Dandekar Says Jackie Shroff Makes You Laugh, Suniel Shetty Is A Prankster
Anusha Dandekar returns as an action hero in Hunter Season 2 with Suniel Shetty. She talks about her transformation, stunts, and camaraderie with Jackie Shroff. Anusha Dandekar makes a fierce comeback to screens with Hunter Season 2, where she steps into the shoes of a full-blown action hero. The series, led by Suniel Shetty, takes the stakes higher this time around. Interestingly, Anusha's gritty, gun-wielding role is one of the highlights. In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Anusha opened up about transforming into a female action star, matching Suniel Shetty's energy, doing her own stunts, and her off-screen camaraderie with the legendary Jackie Shroff. Tell us a bit about your character in Hunter Season 2. The trailer looks intense! I think it's really cool for female action personalities to come out. It's a great time to join that bandwagon. I don't think we have enough action girls as representatives, so I'm really happy to be one of them and I hope I do justice. I hope I make girls feel like they can kick some butt. And obviously, it's not easy being alongside somebody like Sunil Shetty, who's so good at what he does. My character, and me as a person, has to match that, right? My character has to be basically the female version of Vikram, which is Sunil Sir's character. So when I got told that, I'm like, okay, all right. The pressure and challenge is on and accepted. So I think I had a really good time doing it. Was this your first time handling guns on set? I've never touched a gun. When they put a gun in my hand, it felt so real. They gave me tips on like, when you shoot, you go backwards a little bit. I didn't know how to hold it, they showed me how to hold it and move it. It was pretty cool. I loved it. I've only held a gun once before — on holiday in Prague, at a shooting range — and it scared the hell out of me because it was so loud. But I actually did a good job there! View this post on Instagram A post shared by Anusha Dandekar (@anushadandekar) Did you miss your mark during takes? Like I said, I had to match the character and do everything in one take. So I didn't have time to miss my shot. I did it pretty good. I don't think I did more than like two takes, maybe three. Did you insist on doing your own stunts? I did all of them. Obviously they always had action doubles, but no, I wanted to do all of my own. So all of it is me." What was the most physically or emotionally challenging part of shooting? I think it was when I had to do kicks that I've never done before or slide on the floor. Sunil sir is so seasoned, he never makes contact with the stunt guys. But I didn't know how to calculate that. The stunt guys were so sweet, they were like, just make contact with us, it's okay. That really helped. There was a scene where Sunil sir grabs me, I walk along the wall and then kick someone in the head. One of the guys said, 'Just kick me, I have a lot of padding on.' They helped me get the timing right and let me punch and kick them. Did you end up hurting yourself or anyone else? No, I was hoping I didn't hurt them. I don't think I'm strong enough, but I didn't hurt myself either. I'm fine. What was the set environment like, working with Suniel Shetty and Jackie Shroff? Jackie sir makes you laugh. Suniel sir is a prankster on set. Don't be fooled by his very serious, demure face. He and his team are such pranksters. We had so much fun. I love stealing his food on set because he always has really yummy food. He is very generous. Jackie sir would make you laugh. They are just really kind people. They are not only inspiring but super encouraging. I really had such a fun time. I didn't feel like I was working." View this post on Instagram A post shared by Anusha Dandekar (@anushadandekar) As actors, how were they to work alongside on screen? So good. I think this is really great for Sunil sir as well because it's like a graph. Everybody knows he's fantastic in comedy and action and drama but he gets to do all of it in one. I think because he's such a family man, the emotions that he has with his daughter in this really shows. He becomes a badass and he's like kicking ass. It's a really cool graph to watch him do all of that and his personality is just like a cool guy anyway. And then Jackie sir, what can I say? He just gets into that character. They'll call action and suddenly you'll just see him with that whole personality just comes out. You're just watching like wow, this is so cool. To witness it close up and get to act alongside it — it's just super fun. Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Please keep discussions respectful and constructive. Anusha Dandekar says doing action with Suniel Shetty in Hunter was daunting: 'All his fans will see if I'm keeping up'
She grew up in Australia, where every child gets a very physical upbringing. 'If they want to teach you to swim, they just throw you in the water,' jokes Anusha Dandekar. Describing her childhood as a series of 'kicks and cartwheels, Anusha said she was involved in everything from dance to sports. Yet, her career in showbiz never capitalised on that sporty side, up until now. Her new show, Hunter season 2, sees her in an action avatar. In a freewheeling chat with HT, the actor opens up about the opportunity and matching steps with Suniel Shetty. Suniel Shetty and Anusha Dandekar during the trailer launch of their new series Hunter Season 2 in Mumbai. (PTI Photo)(PTI) On doing action in Hunter season 2 Hunter stars Suniel Shetty in the titular role with Jackie Shroff playing the antagonist in season 2. Alongside these veterans is Anusha, trying her hand at action for the very first time. 'Thanks to Suniel sir and the team and asking me to do this. I felt like I really got to show the younger Anusha, who grew up in Australia and was always playing a sport. I was so active. This really was a bucket list entry for me. I got to do kicks and cartwheels, which I have been doing since I was a kid,' she tells us, adding, 'In my career, I never got to do all of that. It was always fashion and beauty. I didn't see a lot of action for females here anyway.' Anusha bemoans the lack of proper roles for women in the action genre in Indian storytelling. 'It's a category that hasn't been explored. There are no limitations there. If given the opportunity, there'd be so many girls willing to train and get themselves prepared. But you also want to have co-stars who let you embrace it. It's not as if you are their sidekick. You are alongside them, which is a huge difference. You are not Robin, but Catwoman! That makes you feel very passionate,' she says. Matching up to Suniel Shetty Ask her what the most daunting task was in Hunter, and she says it wasn't any of the kicks or stunts, but just matching up to Suniel Shetty. 'People salute him! They really respect him,' she exclaims, 'When he gives you that space to be alongside him, it makes you feel super honoured. But I know all of his fans will watch to see if I am keeping up. If I mess up, it will be 'How dare you give her the role?'. It's a huge responsibility.' Hunter season 2 is currently streaming on Amazon MXPlayer.
