UNC basketball program offers four-star small forward A 2026 small forward has earned an offer from North Carolina
Hubert Davis and the North Carolina Tar Heels have a new target on their 2026 basketball recruiting board.
After showing interest in four-star small forward Qaydon Samuels, the Tar Heels have now officially entered the race for the talented prospect. On Sunday, North Carolina offered the four-star recruit out of Maryland.
Samuels is the latest player to earn an offer from North Carolina and they have been interested in the recruit for a bit now. UNC's interest and Samuels' recent play at the NBPA Top 100 Camp was a perfect storm for an offer to come this weekend ahead of the Summer months.
The 6-foot-5, 200-pound small forward plays at Bishop McNamara and is ranked No. 22 nationally, the No. 8 small forward, and the No. 1 player in the state of Maryland per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
He has a total of 21 offers in his recruitment so far with Alabama, Illinois, Kansas, Tennessee, Texas, and Michigan as the programs who have offered so far in addition to North Carolina.

Nebraska wide receiver Dane Key has high praise for Dylan Raiola

Nebraska wide receiver Dane Key has high praise for Dylan Raiola Nebraska football wide receiver Dane Key is excited to work with quarterback Dylan Raiola. Not only that, he has confidence in the second-year quarterback, as the Huskers look to take a leap in 2025. Key transferred over to the Huskers from the Kentucky Wildcats in December. He is coming off a season that saw him record 47 catches for 715 yards and two touchdowns. He had two games of over 100 receiving yards, as he became one of the most explosive offensive weapons for the Wildcats last season. Now, he has high hopes for Raiola, as the latter enters his second season. He spoke with NebOn3's Pete Nakos about this upcoming season and why he likes the quarterback. 'He's just the total quarterback,' Key said. 'He's a leader. Everybody respects him around the building, not only because he's the quarterback. The kid's got a great work ethic. He doesn't stop working. That's what you want out of your quarterback.' Key is certainly a solid addition to a young wide receiver room. He has the chance to be one of the best receivers in the Big Ten this upcoming season, and he undoubtedly has confidence in his quarterback. Auburn's Bruce Pearl gives his take on the 'halves vs. quarters' debate

Auburn's Bruce Pearl gives his take on the 'halves vs. quarters' debate Is Bruce Pearl in favor of making the switch to quarters? One of the biggest debates headlining this offseason of college basketball is the pros and cons of moving to a quarter format over the current format of halves, and Auburn's head man has weighed in. Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl did not have much to say on the topic during a recent appearance on The Sideline with Andy Katz. Still, he did show favoritism toward switching to quarters by saying he wants the game to be played "just like everybody else." Men's college basketball is the only entity of college basketball that still plays two halves. NCAA Women's basketball made the switch from halves to quarters before the 2015-16 season, and the NCAA is looking at possibly making the switch, as cited in a recent press release. 'In considering the decisions last month, the NCAA Men's Basketball Committee had conversations about ways to continue this direction in the upcoming years, which includes positive momentum for moving the men's game from halves to quarters,' the NCAA said in a press release. 'The committee realizes there are hurdles to implementing the quarter format to the game, including the structuring of media timeouts to accommodate commercial inventory. The committee recommended NCAA Division I conferences create a joint working group to provide feedback on the potential change from halves to quarters.' Making the move from halves to quarters would create new game plans for coaches that will include foul trouble and clock management, which could be seen as an issue for some coaches in terms of adapting. The possible change from halves to quarters is the second-largest rule change discussed this offseason. In addition to the game format, the NCAA is exploring ways to allow coaches to challenge several calls, such as out-of-bounds plays and goaltending. Potential rule changes will be a great topic of offseason discussion and will be worth following as we wait for the season to begin in November. Michigan State football has received predictions to land a top priority wide receiver

Michigan State football has received predictions to land a top priority wide receiver Michigan State football has had Zachary Washington as a top target on their 2026 recruiting board with WR coach Courtney Hawkins having put maximum effort in the Wheaton (IL) product. Now, the Spartans may be closing in on landing the prospect. With a commitment date on the horizon, the Spartans have seen a flurry of good predictions in landing the prospect from St. Francis High School. Crystal ball predictions have been made on 247Sports for the Spartans to land the 3-star wide receiver. The predictions came from the three insiders on Wisconsin's 247 recruiting site, Badgers247. Evan Flood, Nick Osen and Jon McNamara are credited with giving the Spartans predictions to land the prospect. The predictions from Wisconsin's insiders come with significance due to the perceived lead that the Badgers supposedly had with the prospect following his official visit to Madison at the start of the month. Now, after a visit to East Lansing, it seems that the Spartans have turned the tides. Washington is a 6-foot-2, 185 pound receiver that has taken visits to MSU, Wisconsin and West Virginia, the three leaders in his recruitment. MSU has 15 commitments in the 2026 recruiting class, and are looking to make Washington their 16th.
