Klay Thompson and Megan Thee Stallion Just Hard-Launched Their Relationship
After weeks of evasive rumour and social media detective work, the four-time NBA champion and three-time Grammy-winning rap queen have confirmed the rumoured romance in style. On Saturday, Thompson posted a snuggly photo of himself with Megan Thee Stallion on Instagram, sealing the rumours with a no-nonsense, cryptic caption: 'Sweet Bells son.'
The post amassed more than 100,000 likes in less than 40 minutes, getting both fan bases into full-blown panic.
And if that wasn't loud enough, former Golden State Warrior teammate of Thompson's, Draymond Green, couldn't resist leaving a one-word comment that screamed approval: 'Killa!' Green's comment gained 500 likes in 10 minutes, a testament to how starved the internet was for confirmation of the two being a couple.
This? This was a hard launch.
Fans first made the connection early in the week when Megan Thee Stallion, 30, shared an Instagram carousel full of thirst-trap-worthy shots from what looked like a tropical getaway. With the bikini selfies and sun-soaked vibe, one keen-eyed fan spotted none other than Klay Thompson, 35, resting in the background, sipping leisurely and shirtless.
Social media lost it. Coincidence? Photobomb? Or was it maybe. love?
By Thursday, TMZ was confirming what everyone already knew: the 'HISS' rapper and the newest Dallas Mavericks guard were indeed an item. The tworeportedly flew off on a romantic getaway just weeks into the close of the NBA free agency period and Thompson inked his new deal with the Mavericks.
And all thanks to Instagram, we now have proof.
While Megan's Instagram updates throughout the week were all too understandably setting up a boo'd-up getaway, Thompson had his social media kept rather tidy until the big moment. On Friday, he posted a solo selfie of himself enjoying a beer on the beach to his Story, giving off major 'soft launch' energy.
But the beach wasn't the only thing warming up, it seems.
By Saturday, subtlety was abandoned. In the photo that he shared, Klay and Meg sit together side by side, relaxed, smiling, and totally unconcerned. The 'Sweet Bells son' post had people bewildered, but the photo spoke volumes.
Megan Thee Stallion's dating life has never been of public interest, and now she's causing waves in the NBA sphere once again.
She was seen last summer with NBA forward Torrey Craig after a viral TikTok video caught them participating in the 'Couples Challenge.' Despite deleting the video shortly after, TMZ exposed the short-lived romance, which allegedly lasted through April 2024.
Now, the Houston native may be swapping courtside flirtations for something a bit more put together. And with Thompson dressing up in Dallas this fall, don't be surprised to see Meg sitting front-row in Mavericks blue, iced-out and unfazed.
The internet is totally losing it.
'Meg and Klay??? This is the crossover episode I didn't know I needed,' one fan posted.
'Who came from Splash Brother to Hot Girl Summer,' another one cracked.
Instagram comments on Thompson's post were also in shambles. From blaze emojis to blown minds, it's safe to say that these two have everyone on the hook.
Even ESPN and Complex reposted the couple's photo within the hour, adding to the firestorm of attention. And with Megan's drama queen tendencies and Klay's lowkey suaveness, this could be one of the most shocking yet flawlessly messycelebrity couples of 2025.

Tigers 'strongly interested' in pair of Twins righty relievers
Ahead of the MLB trade deadline, the Detroit Tigers have a few areas they are planning to address. A third baseman is of interest, as is a starting pitcher. But, one of the more pressing needs for Detroit is in the bullpen. According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Tigers are one of many teams that are interested in Minnesota Twins relievers Jhoan Duran and Griffin Jax. While it'd be a rare in-division deal, the Tigers could pull such a move off if they want either of the two. Advertisement "The Philadelphia Phillies have been extensively scouting Minnesota Twins relievers Jhoan Duran and Griffin Jax..." Nightengale writes, "The Twins are also drawing strong interest from the Detroit Tigers, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Cincinnati Reds." Duran and Jax are the Twins' top relievers, and with both potentially available, either would be a nice pickup for the Tigers' bullpen. Both are under team control through 2027, and both are righties. While the Tigers could use a lefty to pair with right-handers Will Vest and Tommy Kahnle, it wouldn't exclude the Tigers from landing a strong righty reliever. If the righty ended up as either Duran or Jax, it'd be a nice move. MORE: Tigers linked to former Yankees $90 million infielder as depth piece Advertisement This season, Duran has a 1.49 ERA, 47 strikeouts and 16 walks, with no home runs allowed, across 42.1 innings pitched. Jax, meanwhile, has a 4.02 ERA with 65 strikeouts and 10 walks across 40.1 innings pitched. While Duran has been better this season, in 2024, Jax was better. He had a 2.03 ERA and 95 strikeouts, and 15 walks in 71 innings pitched. Duran has a 3.64 ERA, 66 strikeouts, and 15 walks in 54.1 innings pitched. Both Twins relievers had a strong and decent season over the last two years. Either the 27-year-old Duran or the 30-year-old Jax would be nice acquisitions if the Tigers can pull it off. This report from Nightengale suggests the Tigers are strongly interested in Twins' relievers John Duran and Griffin Jax. While an in-division deal might be hard to pull off, the Tigers are still keeping the door open to landing one of the Twins' relievers at the deadline. Advertisement MORE MLB NEWS:

Jaylen Brown: 'I disagree' with how Celtics have used me
2024 Boston Celtics Finals MVP Jaylen Brown got surprisingly candid about his nine-year tenure with the franchise during an expansive new summer interview with Noa Dalzell of SB Nation. 'It's been a long journey here in Boston,' Brown said. 'I've had to deal with a lot. I feel like I haven't been able to be myself in certain capacities — because of the politics, and because maybe people feel uncomfortable with who I am.' Advertisement Brown has been an oftentimes outspoken advocate for social change. An MIT Media Lab fellow in 2019, Brown created the Bridge Program — a mentorship program for Boston-area students of color looking explore STEM program careers. He has strived to use his platform to deal with income inequality and education disparities. On the court, too, Brown explains that he's been frustrated with some of the ways the Celtics have used him. 'I disagree with a lot of things,' Brown said. 'I've had to change roles, styles. I've had to do things that other players of my talent just haven't had to do, and I've been okay with them, because I've always been a team guy. I feel like sometimes that gets taken for granted.' During his first few seasons in the league, Brown was coached by now-general manager Brad Stevens, and saw his role fluctuate as he adjusted to more established All-Stars like Isaiah Thomas, Kyrie Irving and Al Horford. Advertisement Now, the Celtics belong to Brown and six-time All-Star Jayson Tatum. Last year with the Celtics, the 6-foot-6 University of California at Berkeley product averaged 22.2 points on .463/.324/.764 shooting splits, 5.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists, while making his fourth All-Star team. The 28-year-old likely would have been a prime contender to notch his second All-NBA honor, but missed out by only playing in 63 contests due to injuries. Players need to be available for 65 or more games to be named to an All-NBA team. Boston has appeared in two NBA Finals in the last four seasons, winning in 2024. 'I'm extremely grateful that we won a championship,' Brown said. 'I'm extremely grateful that we've been able to have success, and that's what it's about. It's not all about you, it's not all about me, you know what I mean? I want the next generation to know that as well — it's okay to play your role on the team. It's okay to do whatever, but don't let that define you.' Advertisement At 28, he has absolutely come into his own. Next season, he has an opportunity to shine brighter than ever, as Tatum will miss most — if not all — of 2025-26 while he recuperates from an Achilles tendon tear suffered during Boston's eventual second round playoff series loss to the New York Knicks.
