Nationals' MacKenzie Gore breaks silence on shocking trade rumors
The left-handed ace was a deserving All Star.
Yet somehow, Gore is involved in trade rumors.
That's despite being under club control through 2027.
Regardless, Gore is being rumored about, and he was asked about it at All-Star Weekend.
Gore was traded once before, from the Padres' system to the Nats in the Juan Soto deal.
'Having been traded before, it's just one of those things you don't even think about,' Gore told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand. 'You love the guys you're around and you grow as a group with these guys, but I'm just trying to stack good starts and whatever happens, happens.'

Because of Gore's ability and his two remaining contract years after this one, he'd demand a strong prospect haul.
It'd still be surprising to see the Nationals deal their ace. But at least he'd know how to handle it.

Toronto's average temperature rising fastest among Major League Baseball cities
A recent study has found that Toronto's average temperature has risen the most among all Major League Baseball cities during the season over the past 40 years. Toronto's average temperature has gone up 3 degrees Celsius when the Blue Jays are in season. The Blue Jays were atop the analysis done by United States-based science non-profit Climate Central. The Arizona Diamondbacks, based in Phoenix, were second on the list with a 2.8 C rise. The average temperatures across all of MLB's cities have gone up about 1.7 degrees since 1970, according to the study. The Blue Jays open a six-game homestand tonight when they welcome the San Francisco Giants. Climate Central says Earth is already at 1.5 degrees Celsius of warming due to climate change and burning fossil fuels. Canada is warming at a rate twice the global mean average, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada. This report by The Canadian Press was first published July 18, 2025. Phillies announce lineup for Friday game vs. LA Angels. Where is Kyle Schwarber hitting?
PHILADELPHIA − The Phillies, coming off the All-Star break with Kyle Schwarber as the hero, are opening a three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels on July 18. Schwarber won the All-Star game for the National League by hitting three home runs on three swings in a "swing off" to break a 6-6 tie over the American League. It was the first ever "swing off" to decide an All-Star game, and Schwarber was named the game's MVP because of it. For the Phillies, this is when the games get real again. They're 55-41, one-half game ahead of the Mets for first place in the National League East. They'll open the second half of the season with LHP Jesus Luzardo (8-5, 4.14 ERA) on the mound. The Angels (47-49) are countering with RHP Ryan Zeferjahn (5-3, 5.66). South Jersey native Mike Trout is making his return to Philly. Trout is hitting .238 with 17 homers and 41 RBIs this season. Here are the starting lineups for the July 18 game: Phillies announce lineup vs. Angels Trea Turner, SS Kyle Schwarber, DH Bryce Harper, 1B Alec Bohm, 3B Nick Castellanos, RF Brandon Marsh, CF J.T.
