Dave Franco has been frequently fan-cast for a potential Luigi Mangione biopic, and the resemblance can definitely be seen.
The killing of UnitedHealthCare CEO Brian Thompson was one of the most explosive stories from last year, and it feels like a matter of time before a movie is made about it.

The case was one of the most talked-about moments of the year, including when he was found and arrested.
Fans noticed the resemblance between the 27-year-old and Dave Franco fairly quickly and naturally fan-casted him in whatever form of 'entertainment' eventually comes out of the case.
During his appearance on 'Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen', a fan asked Dave about the possibility of playing the role and the actor made it clear that while no talks have been had, he would be open to it.
The 'Now You See Me' star said: 'Oh, how do I answer this… no one has approached me about it yet, I'll say that.
'More people in my life reached out about this exact thing than anything else that has ever happened … So let's just say I'm open if it's the right people, and let's leave it at that.' Dave Franco bears quite the resemblance to Luigi. Pic: Raymond Hall/GC Images
The Mangione case is of course still ongoing so it's not surprising that the 40-year-old was careful about his response to the question.
Luigi is currently locked up at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn, New York, but hasn't been sentenced.
At this point, a biopic on this case wouldn't be possible to go forward with, as its outcome has yet to be determined.
The federal charges that he is up against are eligible for the death penalty, which federal prosecutors have said they intend to pursue. Luigi is currently locked up in Brooklyn. Pic:His legal team recently accused the Manhattan District Attorney's office of wrongfully obtaining his medical records by compelling Aetna, a health insurance company, to turn over confidential information, which violates health privacy laws.
His attorneys also accused the DA's office of listening to a recording of a phone call with their client and they are seeking to have at least two of the counts against him thrown out.
Luigi has pleaded not guilty and his next court date is set for mid September.

'Unsexiest Women' list from 2007 resurfaces—and the internet isn't having It

An old article from Maxim magazine is causing a new wave of controversy after resurfacing online this week. Originally published in 2007, the piece ranked the 'Top 5 Unsexiest Women Alive' – a list that critics now call sexist, mean-spirited, and emblematic of a toxic tabloid culture that dominated the 2000s. The article, written at the height of Maxim's lad-mag era, included celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker and Sandra Oh, accompanied by mocking commentary that focused on their looks. Pic: James Devaney/GC Images While the list may have gone relatively unchallenged at the time of publication, its reappearance in the age of social media has sparked widespread backlash. First on the list was Sarah Jessica Parker, with the publication claiming she was the 'least sexy woman in a group of very unsexy women' noting the irony that she lead the cast of a show with the word 'sex' in the title, a Today article published at the time confirmed. 'How the hell did this [horse] Barbaro-faced broad manage to be the least sexy woman in a group of very unsexy women and still star on a show with 'sex' in the title?' read Sarah Jessica's description, per Sandra Oh. Pic: David Fisher/Shutterstock Second on the list was the late, great, Amy Winehouse, who sadly passed away four years after the list's publication. The hit piece wrote of 'haemorrhaging translucent skin, a rat's nest mane, and lashes that look more like surgically attached bats.' Third was Grey's Anatomy actress Sandra Oh, with Maxim critiquing her 'cold bedside manner and boyish figure.' Madonna. Pic: The Hapa Blonde/GC Images The fourth spot was held by pop star Madonna, due to her supposed 'self-righteous bellyaching and rapid postnuptial deterioration.' 'Combine a Paris Hilton-like pet accessorizing fetish only for dirt-poor foreign babies with a mug that looks Euro-sealed to her skull, and you've got Willem Dafoe with hot flashes,' they added, as per Stuff. Lastly, was 2000s pop icon Britney Spears, with Maxim stating that her messy private life, weight gain, and her 'losing the ability to perform' was what landed her on the list. Britney Spears: Pic: Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic The outlet slammed her for 'filling chicken-grease-stained sweatpants on the cover of every trashy tabloid and gossip blog on the Internet' and having 'gained two kids, two useless ex-husbands, and about 23 pounds of Funyun pudge.' While the list did garner some raised eyebrows upon its release, Reddit users in 2025 have re-fanned the flames after finding the piece online. 'This is a 'let's pick five famously beautiful women to take down a peg' list. It's a pathetic ego trip,' one user wrote. 'Other than that, this list is just random gorgeous women. It's early days of men lashing out about not being centered,' another penned. 'I hate to be all 'kids today' but they truly don't understand the level of misogyny that women and girls were exposed to in the 2000s,' a third shared. '

Hunter gored to death by buffalo he was stalking in South Africa

An American big game hunter was gored to death by a buffalo he was stalking after it ambushed him on safari in South Africa. Millionaire businessman Asher Watkins, who was 52, was on a hunting trip with professional guides and an animal tracker on the trail of a prized 1.3-ton buffalo bull last Sunday. But unexpectedly, and at top speed, the enormous animal emerged from the bushes and charged him at 35mph, slamming into him and killing him almost instantly. Its believed it costs in the region of €7,500 to take part in a hunt of this kind, and it's thought the man who died, described himself as a keen conservationist, who believed that hunting is a vital part of preserving wildlife, and he had photos on his social media with a dead mountain lion, deer, and hundreds of dead birds. SABI SANDS, SOUTH AFRICA – OCTOBER 9: A herd of Cape Buffalo pass tourists on an evening game drive in South Africa (Photo by) It's reported he had also boasted of killing thousands of doves in just three days while on a trip with a group of friends in Argentina. The Cape Buffalo is considered probably the most powerful and dangerous animal in Africa, and will charge at full speed if threatened. The animals have been nicknamed the 'African Black Death' by hunters who have been attacked by them and survived, and the name is often used by Safari companies to attract hunters who want to join in journeys to hunt these magnificent animals.
