Megan Thee Stallion gushes over NBA star Klay Thompson as couple hit major relationship milestone
The couple stepped out as an item for the first time after a week of dropping sizzling hints about their blossoming romance on social media.
The Grammy Award winner, 30, clutched her NBA beau's hand as they made their dazzling entrance into the Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in New York City Wednesday evening.
The love birds made for a striking pair as Megan wowed in an elegant halter-neck black gown complete with an asymmetrical silver embellishment at her hips. Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks star cut a dapper figure in a classic black-and-white tux.
And, after finally taking their relationship public an evening earlier, the rapper couldn't resist gushing over the four-time NBA champion.
'I have never dated somebody so kind,' she told Page Six at the event at Gotham Hall. 'This is my first relationship where I've ever been with somebody who's genuinely a nice person, and he makes me genuinely happy.'
'I just never dated somebody like him before and I'm just grateful that he's here by my side and he feels the same way about me.'
And the couple looked as loved-up as Megan claimed with the hoops star gave her a quick smooch before leaving her to take solo photos.
Earlier this week, the Savage hitmaker shared sizzling bikini photos with her new beau in the background while they were enjoying a tropical couple's getaway together in the Bahamas.
Fans noticed Thompson in the background on a sun lounger in photos that the rapper had posted of herself while on holiday over the weekend, sparking rumors that they are now an item.
And they confirmed the speculation Tuesday night when they enjoyed a date night at New York hotspot Carbone.
Their romance comes just three months after Megan's relationship with another basketball player, Boston Celtics small forward Torrey Craig, seemingly came to an end.
Over the years, the 30-year-old has been romantically linked with a number of high-profile names, including Chelsea soccer star Romelu Lukaku.
She also previously dated fellow rappers Tory Lanez — who is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence after shooting her in the foot nearly five years ago — and Moneybagg Yo, as well as songwriter Pardison 'Pardi' Fontaine.
In August of last year, the musician confirmed she was dating Craig after accidentally sharing a video of them together on TikTok.
She posted a clip of her and Craig, who was playing for the Chicago Bulls at the time, carrying out a couple's challenge while laying in bed together.
In the video, the loved-up pair fielded a series of questions on their relationship while shutting their eyes and pointing to the person.
At one stage, they were even asked who said the words 'I love you' first, with both of them pointing to the other in a video that was quickly deleted.
Meanwhile, Thompson, the son of former NBA player Mychal Thompson, recently wrapped up his debut season with the Mavericks after ending his 13-year stay with the Golden State Warriors in 2024.
He put pen to paper on a three-year, $50m contract in Dallas via a six-team sign and trade, which also included the Philadelphia 76ers, Charlotte Hornets, Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves.
In his first year with the Mavs the shooting guard made 72 appearances, averaging 14 points, 3.4 rebounds and two assists per game.

Son Heung-min makes frank admission over record-breaking MLS move
Son Heung-min has completed a record-breaking transfer to Los Angeles FC, admitting the Major League Soccer club was not his initial preferred destination despite their successful persuasion. The 33-year-old's move, valued at over £20million, marks the highest transfer fee ever paid by an MLS club. During his 10-year tenure, Son scored 173 goals in 454 appearances, and recently captained the club to Europa League glory. Speaking at his introductory press conference in Los Angeles, the South Korea international confessed that LAFC had "changed his heart" regarding the move to the United States, where he has signed an initial two-year deal. The South Korea national team captain also admitted he "had to be persuaded of the merits" of the transfer. 'They've been absolutely working so hard to get me here to join LAFC,' Son said. 'If I'm honest it was not my first choice but John (Thorrington, LAFC general manager) was the first call when the season finished and John changed my mind, he changed my heart. 'I'm so happy to see all the Korean fans, I was at the game and I saw you supporting like crazy and I wanted to run on the pitch and show my performance. I'm here to win and I will perform. 'I will definitely show you something exciting in… are we calling it football or soccer? I will definitely show you some exciting football and we will have success.' Son added that the decision to leave Spurs had left him feeling 'very empty'. 'I felt like I gave it all, but I felt like I needed a new chapter and new challenge and I chose LAFC. I'm old but I still have good physicality, good legs and I still have good quality.' Earlier Son had issued a heartfelt message to Tottenham fans on making the 'hardest decision ever' to leave north London. 'How to find the right words for this? I don't know. I have been thinking for days. It's impossible. But here I go,' Son wrote. 'It's time for me to say goodbye to Tottenham Hotspur. My home for the past decade. 'When I arrived in 2015, I didn't speak English, I didn't know London, but you welcomed me with open arms, believed in me, and stood by me through every high and low. 'I was just a boy from Korea with big dreams who was supposed to have no chance. And now, 10 years later, North London is in my heart forever. 'I've made friends for life here, had the honour of becoming a godfather here, and had the privilege of captaining our special club here. I've poured my heart and soul into this club, which makes this the hardest decision ever. 'I thought if I was ever going to leave, it would have to be on my terms, on the best terms, when our mission had been accomplished together. With pride and honour.' Son joined Spurs in 2015 from Bayer Leverkusen. Alongside old partner in crime Harry Kane, Son holds the record for the most goal involvements by a duo in the Premier League, with the pair assisting each other on a record 47 occasions in the competition. Son's performance helped turn Tottenham into title contenders when they finished second in the Premier League under Mauricio Pochettino in 2017, finishing as runners-up in the Champions League two years later. After Kane left for Bayern Munich, Son became Spurs captain under Ange Postecoglou, lifting the Europa League trophy in May – having come off the bench in the final against Manchester United, a 1-0 Spurs win, after an injury-affected campaign. The popular South Korean will renew acquaintances with Hugo Lloris and move to Los Angeles, which boasts one of the largest Korean populations in the world, ahead of next summer's World Cup in the United States.

Heung-Min Son admits LAFC ‘wasn't first choice' in debut press conference with club
Heung-min Son has revealed that Los Angeles FC (LAFC) was 'not his first choice' when seeking a new club, after he decided to leave Tottenham Hotspur after 10 years at the north London team. The former Spurs captain admitted during an introductory press conference on Wednesday (6 August) that he had been persuaded by LAFC general manager John Thorrington to join the team. 'When I talked to John after the season finished, he just changed my mind. He changed my heart. He changed my brain. He showed me the destination where I should be. Right now, I'm here. I'm more than happy.' Son, who announced he was leaving Spurs following 173 goals in 454 appearances on Saturday (2 August), said he will show the US 'something exciting', before joking: 'Are we calling it football or soccer now?'

Egg yolks, horse sex and necrophile nuns: Emerald Fennell's Wuthering Heights confirmed as ‘unconventional'
Equal parts intrigue and scepticism had already dogged the forthcoming adaptation of Wuthering Heights from Emerald Fennell – whose first two films, Promising Young Woman and Saltburn, displayed a love of mordant and explicit envelope-pushing. As reported by World of Reel, a first test screening for the film, which stars Margot Robbie and Saltburn's Jacob Elordi, took place earlier this week in Dallas, and audience reaction was 'mixed'. One attender described the film as 'aggressively provocative and tonally abrasive' and suggested it strongly recalled the 'stylised depravity' of Saltburn with scenes of 'clinical masturbation', a bondage-tinged sexual encounter involving horse reins and less conventional romance or emotional complexity than many aficionados of Emily Brontë's novel might expect. The film apparently opens with a public hanging in which the 'condemned man ejaculates mid-execution'. The crowd react orgiastically, and a nun 'fondles the corpse's visible erection'. Other signature Fennell shots include lingering takes of 'suggestive textures' such as egg yolks, bread dough and slug trails. Earlier this year the film's casting director, Kharmel Cochrane, defended her choices after many suggested Robbie was too old to play the role of Catherine Earnshaw, as well as questioning Elordi's ethnicity, since Heathcliff, the foundling with whom she falls in love, is generally perceived to have a Romany or Gypsy background. Most big and small screen adaptations of the novel have ignored this, with the character having been played by actors including Ralph Fiennes, Tom Hardy and Timothy Dalton. Andrea Arnold's 2011 adaptation cast a mixed race actor, James Howson, in the role. Speaking at the Sands film festival in Scotland, Cochrane said there was 'no need to be accurate' as the source material is 'just a book'. She continued: 'There's definitely going to be some English Lit fans that are not going to be happy. Wait until you see the set design, because that is even more shocking. And there may or may not be a dog collar in it.' The film, which is scheduled for release on Valentine's Day 2026, will be Robbie's first major role since Barbie and Fennell's first film since Saltburn became an audience sensation in 2023, although it underperformed with awards bodies. World of Reel quotes another attender of the Dallas screening as saying that despite strong leading performances, Fennell's take on their characters is sufficiently 'cold and unlikable' that engagement with their fates is made difficult.
