SCR GM reviews progress of work at Railway Manufacturing Unit, Kazipet

Hyderabad, July 17 (UNI) South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, conducted a detailed inspection of the on-going construction works at the upcoming Railway Manufacturing Unit, Kazipet of Secunderabad Division, today.
He was accompanied by Bhartesh Kumar Jain, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division and other senior officials throughout the inspection.
The concerned officials presented a comprehensive report on the progress and status of the project.
The General Manager advised the division to further expedite the works so as to complete the project at the earliest.
The General Manager also inspected the safety aspects at the construction site and informed the supervisors and officials to ensure all safety guidelines and procedures without fail.
He also interacted with media personnel at the site and briefed them on the developmental plans being undertaken by SCR.
Earlier, Srivastava carried out a rear window inspection from
Secunderabad to Kazipet section, wherein he inspected the safety aspects of tracks and signaling systems.
Further, he conducted detailed inspection of Yadadri & Jangaon Railway stations and reviewed the progress of redevelopment works undertaken at the stations as part of Amrit Bharat Station scheme.
Later, the General Manager inspected the Kakatiya running room at Kazipet and interacted with the loco pilots about the facilities provided.
He planted saplings towards the protection of the environment.
The General Manager conducted a detailed inspection of Kazipet Railway station, wherein he reviewed the passenger amenities and inspected the circulating area.
He also inspected the crew lobby and relay room at Kazipet.
Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy met the General Manager at Kazipet and submitted representation regarding Rail developmental plans pertaining to his region.
During the course of the inspection, the General Manager also received representations from various other public representatives.

PJTAU to confer degrees on 519 students at 55th convocation on Aug 2

Hyderabad, July 24 (UNI) The 55th Convocation of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) will be held on August 2 at the university auditorium in Rajendranagar, according to Registrar Dr Vidyasagar on Thursday. A total of 519 students, including undergraduates, postgraduates, and Ph.D. scholars, will receive their degrees during the ceremony. Of these, 322 are women and 197 are men. The Registrar informed that Dr M L Jat, Director General of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), will attend the event as the chief guest and deliver the convocation address. The convocation will be held under the chairmanship of Telangana Governor and University Chancellor Jishnu Dev Varma. As part of the honours, nine postgraduate and Ph.D. students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance will be awarded gold medals. In addition, two postgraduate and Ph.D. students will each receive a cash prize of Rs 25,000. Twenty undergraduate students will also be awarded gold medals during the ceremony. General coach of Shalimar-Sambalpur Exp derails

Bhubaneswar, July 24 (UNI) A minor derailment occurred today when the rear trolley of a general coach, located next to the guard van of the Shalimar-Sambalpur Express, derailed near Sambalpur City Station, East Coast Railway (ECoR) sources said. The incident took place in the Sambalpur City–Sambalpur section shortly after the train departed from Sambalpur City at 09:18 hrs, moving at a very slow speed. ECoR officials confirmed that there was no loss of life or damage to property. Except for the affected coach, the rest of the train resumed its journey to Sambalpur with all passengers safe. Senior railway officials, including the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), reached the site to supervise early restoration work and initiate an inquiry into the cause of the derailment. UNI DP PRS
