Dream Team winner reveals how he won £50,000: Eberechi Eze, Manchester City defenders and the wisdom of doing nothing
For Tony Minehan, it became reality.

The experienced gaffer from County Clare in Ireland mastered Dream Team in 2024/25 to earn more points than all his rivals and scoop the £50,000 jackpot.
'I realised with a few weeks to go that maybe I had a chance and then the nerves kicked in,' Tony told Dream Team over the phone from New York, a holiday funded by his winnings.
'My wife has no interest whatsoever in football… but she got interested when there was fifty grand on the line!'
Incredibly, Tony's triumph wasn't officially confirmed until the final whistle of the Premier League campaign, when his two Manchester City defenders earned clean sheet points away to Fulham.
Speaking about the winning moment, Tony said: 'I remember hugging my wife and I said 'we're going to the pub' which we wouldn't normally do on a Sunday evening.
'I rang a few friends to meet me there who didn't know what was going on because I hadn't told anyone about it. I explained it to them and bought them all free drinks for the night. We had a great night, I didn't want it to end.'

As well as his thoroughly-deserved trip to New York, Tony revealed he has upgraded his car having won the £50,000 prize.
Every Dream Team manager can fantastise about what they would do with the money but how does one achieve such greatness?
Tony advises caution at the start of the campaign and tends to adopt a risk-adverse strategy for the first few months.
'I'm a pretty conservative player early on in the season because I think you have to be.
'I find if you get off to a bad start it's very hard to claw it back.'
When asked to identify specific players that set him apart from his rivals, Tony was quick to sing the praises of Eberechi Eze.
'He was my star man pretty much all season. I had him when a lot of others didn't.'
Crystal Palace's No10 amassed 315 points via 15 goals and 11 assists in 2024/25.
Many gaffers were hesitant to select the England midfielder because he was not active in Europe but Tony recognised that Eze was able to compensate for that with healthy returns in the league and FA Cup.
The 27-year-old scored four goals during the Eagles' successful cup campaign, including the historic winner at Wembley.

Tony also went against grain by backing two Man City defenders when others shied away.
City endured a joyless campaign by their usual high standards and many Dream Team bosses were quick to ditch their Etihad assets but clean sheets came easier for Pep Guardiola's troops when Josko Gvardiol reverted to centre-back and Tony reaped the rewards.
Perhaps the most important lesson gaffers can take from our reigning champion is that sometimes the best thing to do is nothing at all.
Speaking about a particularly crucial crossroads when the pressure was most intense, Tony revealed: 'There was a week towards the end of the season and I actually made a decision not to make any transfers.
'That was probably the best decision of the whole season. I was happy with my team… it was a fifty-fifty decision but not using the transfers worked out well for me.'
Tony resisted the urge to make changes just for the sake of it, a common mistake among Dream Team bosses with itchy fingers.
Incidentally, it will be much easier for gaffers to stick by their existing XI this coming season as both transfers will rollover to the following Gameweek in such cases.
We've increased our top prize this season so if you are able follow in Tony's footsteps you will win a whopping £60,000!

Aussie sports star shocks as she flaunts her peachy bottom in very skimpy bikini during yacht party in Ibiza
Australian basketball star Liz Cambage left little to the imagination as she partied on a yacht in Ibiza on Tuesday. The 33-year-old shared an Instagram post during her trip including one video which saw her flaunting her peachy bottom in very skimpy bikini. In the video, Liz twerked towards the camera before turning around and shaking her hips from side to side. The basketball star flaunted her figure and pert derrière in a skimpy black bikini top and matching G-string bottoms. 'Unsure how 3 days in Ibiza turned in to 2 weeks but I'm not mad at it. Thank you @xtratheparty for having me on the island, and all my friends who make it the best time ever always,' she wrote. 'I'm back next week for my birthday and wild corner take over @hiibizaofficial for @domdolla !!!!!!' A four-time All-Star, Liz ended her basketball career in 2022 after mutually parting ways with the Sparks. She signed a one-year deal for $170,000 in February of that year before exploring other opportunities. The Australian center joined Maccabi Bnod Ashdod in Israel and her current team, SiChuan Yuanada. Additionally, she turned to OnlyFans, where her financial success went beyond her WNBA wages. Liz reportedly earned more in her first week on the platform than she did in all her years on the basketball court. According to the sports star, joining OnlyFans was not just a financial move but a way to express another side of herself. Her success on OnlyFans reignited conversations around the pay disparities in professional sports, particularly between the WNBA and NBA. Although she earned $221,450 in her highest-paying season, the gap in pay remains glaringly concerning. Liz now earns $1.5 million annually through OnlyFans as she continues to build her personal brand. She recently said that she is 'not closing any doors, but right now, I'm focusing on building something new.' In addition to her time with the Sparks, Liz was drafted by the Tulsa Shock in 2011 and also played for the Dallas Wings and Las Vegas Aces. She was the WNBA scoring leader and made the All-WNBA First Team in 2018. She also represented Australia and won a silver medal in the 2018 FIBA World Cup and a bronze medal in the 2012 London Olympics.

Luis Enrique confirms he could have been Tottenham boss as he prepares to take them down in Super Cup with PSG
LUIS ENRIQUE confirmed he could have landed the Tottenham manager's job before taking over in Paris. The former Spain coach staged talks with Spurs in 2023, while Arne Slot also turned them down when he was still at Feyenoord. 1 Eventually, Tottenham offered the position to Ange Postecoglou and Enrique ended up moving to Paris Saint-Germain. Preparing for Wednesday night's Uefa Super Cup clash with Spurs, he said: 'There were some options in the last six months before I came to Paris and Tottenham was one of them.' Enrique has proved to be a massive success at PSG as they won the Champions League for the first time last season. But the 55-year-old believes Spurs will have a huge advantage here in Italy because they have had a full pre-season while PSG have only been back for a week. He added: 'I don't know what to expect. 'But we have had less than three weeks break and we started training. 'I don't know what the level will be. I don't know what we will pull out of the bag. 'I have to say it will be difficult to judge as Spurs recently changed their manager and the players have had some friendlies. 'I don't know what kind of game they are going to play. This is our first week back but it's not an excuse. 'It will be difficult to improve on last season as we won practically everything.' Tottenham meet Eze's team | Transfers Exposed PSG skipper Marquinhos, 31, said: 'Tottenham are in a better position. We are not at the top of our fitness levels. Tottenham will give everything.' Defender Nuno Mendes, 23, said: 'We are not as fresh as we'd like to be mentally, we're all coming back from holiday.' PSG midfielder Joao Neves, 20, misses the game due to a suspension.

Frank leaves Bissouma out of Spurs' Super Cup squad due to persistent lateness
Thomas Frank has flexed his muscles to Tottenham's squad by excluding Yves Bissouma from the travelling party to face Paris Saint-Germain owing to persistent lateness. Spurs make their Uefa Super Cup debut in Udine on Wednesday in a fiendish early test for their manager, who is overseeing his first pre-season since moving from Brentford in June. Frank has wasted no time pressing home his standards and explained he had opted against selecting Bissouma, the Mali international midfielder, because of multiple lapses. 'Bissouma has not travelled with the team because of disciplinary reasons,' Frank said after their arrival in north-east Italy. 'He has been late several times and the latest time was one too many. With everything you need to give your players a lot of love but also have demands and there also need to be consequences. This time there was a consequence for that.' Frank suggested the punishment applied only to this fixture and that he would 'follow up when I come home'. The infraction will heighten doubts over Bissouma's future. He has entered the final year of his contract with little sign a new deal is imminent and his three seasons at Tottenham have been decidedly mixed. The club suspended him from the trip to Leicester last August after he was recorded inhaling nitrous oxide and their former manager Ange Postecoglou said he 'sometimes lets the game drift by him' after the defeat by Fulham in March. Although the Super Cup sits below Uefa's three other major club competitions in terms of prestige, Frank played up the importance of following their Europa League win by toppling the Champions League holders. 'It's a massive game,' he said. 'A great challenge and an even bigger opportunity. That's how my brain works, I see opportunities instead of pressure. So for me, massive opportunity. We will definitely embrace it and we will do everything.' Spurs's squad for the coming Premier League season remains incomplete and they are trying to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace under the noses of Arsenal. Frank did not take the bait when asked about any deal for the forward. 'There are a lot of good players out there, there are also a few from the PSG team, but I don't think we can buy them right now.' he said. 'In general, players in and players out, I'm only speaking if something is done or not done.' Sign up to Football Daily Kick off your evenings with the Guardian's take on the world of football after newsletter promotion Frank must improvise in attack given the long-term absences of James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski. On the brighter side, Dominic Solanke has recovered from an ankle injury that has plagued his summer and should take a place on the bench. Destiny Udogie is also available after a knee problem.
