North Korea Reaffirms Right to Space Exploration

Israa Farhan
North Korea has restated its legal right to explore outer space, marking the third anniversary of a revised space development law that expanded its mission to include defense capabilities.
In a statement published by the state-run Korean Central News Agency, Jang Song-chol, a dean at Kim Il Sung University, highlighted the 2022 parliamentary amendment that laid the legal groundwork for advancing North Korea's space ambitions.
According to Jang, the legislative revision has
accelerated
the country's space industry and reinforced its sovereignty in space exploration. He also emphasized the importance of cultivating legal expertise in space law to support the country's long-term goals.
North Korea has been increasing its focus on research and education in space law to align its space activities with both domestic and international regulations. The country insists it is fully entitled to become a major space power.
In November 2023, North Korea launched a military reconnaissance satellite and pledged to send three more into orbit by the end of 2024. However, those plans have not materialized, with a failed satellite launch in May 2024 casting doubt on the program's progress.

Egypt Ranks Second Globally in Exports of Temporarily Preserved Vegetables

Taarek Refaat Egypt has solidified its position as a global agricultural powerhouse, securing the second place worldwide in the export of temporarily preserved vegetables (HS Code 071190) for the year 2024, according to a new report from the Food Export Council. The country exported 54,000 metric tons of vegetables preserved temporarily, a category that includes products prepared for further processing, generating $66 million in export revenue. This accounted for a 15.4% share of global exports in the category, a significant milestone that reflects Egypt's fast-growing competitiveness in processed agricultural goods. Egypt's performance in this sector has been consistently improving, with the report noting an annual value growth rate of 15% and a volume growth rate of 12% between 2020 and 2024. On a year-over-year basis, exports increased 10% in value between 2023 and 2024, despite global trade fluctuations, a sign of resilient supply chains, stable production infrastructure, and growing global confidence in Egyptian agricultural products. Top Export Destinations in 2024 The report identified five key markets that accounted for 83% of Egypt's exports in this category: Italy – $33 million (51%) United States – $8 million (12%) Germany – $7 million (10%) Spain – $4 million (5%) Russia – $3 million (5%) These figures underscore Egypt's growing reputation as a reliable supplier of safe, high-quality, and standard-compliant agricultural products, particularly to advanced economies with stringent food safety regulations. Positioning Egypt for Future Expansion The Food Export Council emphasized that the sector's momentum is opening new opportunities for global market expansion, especially in response to rising international demand for sustainable and traceable food sources. read more CBE: Deposits in Local Currency Hit EGP 5.25 Trillion Morocco Plans to Spend $1 Billion to Mitigate Drought Effect Gov't Approves Final Version of State Ownership Policy Document Egypt's Economy Expected to Grow 5% by the end of 2022/23- Minister Qatar Agrees to Supply Germany with LNG for 15 Years Business Oil Prices Descend amid Anticipation of Additional US Strategic Petroleum Reserves Business Suez Canal Records $704 Million, Historically Highest Monthly Revenue Business Egypt's Stock Exchange Earns EGP 4.9 Billion on Tuesday Business Wheat delivery season commences on April 15 Videos & Features Story behind Trending Jessica Radcliffe Death Video News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani

Egypt Launches Fourth Special Train to Support Voluntary Return of Sudanese Citizens

Taarek Refaat Egypt's National Railway Authority on Sunday launched the fourth train service dedicated to supporting the voluntary return of Sudanese citizens residing in Egypt to their home country. The initiative, carried out under the directives of Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, reflects Egypt's commitment to its historic and fraternal ties with Sudan. According to an official statement from the Railway Authority, Train No. 1940 — a third-class air-conditioned service, departed from Ramses Station in Cairo at 11:00 a.m., heading south to Al-Sadd Al-Aali River Port in Aswan, where passengers are set to continue their journey into Sudan via river transport. The train is scheduled to arrive at 11:10 p.m. the same day. The authority emphasized that comprehensive logistical arrangements were made to ensure comfort and dignity for the Sudanese passengers, including the addition of an extra luggage carriage to accommodate personal belongings. The initiative is overseen by a special coordinating committee, tasked with maintaining safety and ensuring that travelers are treated with dignity throughout the process. 'This operation reflects the depth of the people-to-people bond between Egypt and Sudan, built on shared history, geography, and mutual respect,' the statement read. In a symbolic gesture that underscored the spirit of unity, passengers at Platform 8 of Cairo's Ramses Station were greeted with flowers and warm farewells from Egyptian officials and citizens alike. Photos and eyewitness accounts from the platform depicted heartfelt scenes of genuine solidarity as travelers boarded the train, many expressing gratitude for the support they've received during their time in Egypt. The return service, Train No. 1945, is set to depart Monday from Aswan back to Cairo, continuing to serve both Egyptian passengers and Sudanese nationals still residing in the country. read more CBE: Deposits in Local Currency Hit EGP 5.25 Trillion Morocco Plans to Spend $1 Billion to Mitigate Drought Effect Gov't Approves Final Version of State Ownership Policy Document Egypt's Economy Expected to Grow 5% by the end of 2022/23- Minister Qatar Agrees to Supply Germany with LNG for 15 Years Business Oil Prices Descend amid Anticipation of Additional US Strategic Petroleum Reserves Business Suez Canal Records $704 Million, Historically Highest Monthly Revenue Business Egypt's Stock Exchange Earns EGP 4.9 Billion on Tuesday Business Wheat delivery season commences on April 15 Videos & Features Story behind Trending Jessica Radcliffe Death Video News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani

Egypt's FM Meets Global Peace Delegation on Gaza Crisis

H-Tayea Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatti met on Sunday with a delegation from The Elders, the global peace advocacy group founded by the late Nelson Mandela. The delegation included Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland, and Helen Clark, former Prime Minister of New Zealand. The discussions centered on the deteriorating situation in Gaza and the worsening humanitarian catastrophe caused by more than a year and a half of relentless Israeli aggression. Abdelatti condemned the use of starvation as a weapon and Israel's attempts to entrench its illegal occupation, describing the actions as a campaign of genocide that undermines the Palestinian people's fundamental right to self-determination, in flagrant violation of international law and humanitarian principles. The minister reaffirmed Egypt's total rejection of any plans to forcibly displace Palestinians or undermine the Palestinian cause. He detailed Egypt's ongoing mediation efforts to secure a ceasefire and announced Cairo's intention to host an international conference on early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza once an agreement is reached. Abdelatti also stressed the urgent need to expand global recognition of the State of Palestine and implement the two-state solution, stating that there can be no security or stability in the region without the establishment of an independent Palestinian state that meets the legitimate aspirations of its people. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid Videos & Features Story behind Trending Jessica Radcliffe Death Video News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani
