North Korea Reaffirms Right to Space Exploration
Israa Farhan North Korea has restated its legal right to explore outer space, marking the third anniversary of a revised space development law that expanded its mission to include defense capabilities. In a statement published by the state-run Korean Central News Agency, Jang Song-chol, a dean at Kim Il Sung University, highlighted the 2022 parliamentary amendment that laid the legal groundwork for advancing North Korea's space ambitions. According to Jang, the legislative revision has accelerated the country's space industry and reinforced its sovereignty in space exploration. He also emphasized the importance of cultivating legal expertise in space law to support the country's long-term goals. North Korea has been increasing its focus on research and education in space law to align its space activities with both domestic and international regulations. The country insists it is fully entitled to become a major space power. In November 2023, North Korea launched a military reconnaissance satellite and pledged to send three more into orbit by the end of 2024. However, those plans have not materialized, with a failed satellite launch in May 2024 casting doubt on the program's progress. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results

N. Korea seen using ChatGPT in AI education
North Korea is apparently using ChatGPT, a generative artificial intelligence service developed by OpenAI of the United States, in its higher education AI studies, according to a media report Saturday. According to the report from Voice of Korea, a Pyongyang external propaganda outlet, members of an AI research institute at Kim Il Sung University were seen learning ChatGPT and its functionalities. Learning material used by the institute explained how ChatGPT generates text based on user input. Given North Korea's heavily restricted internet access, it is unclear whether researchers have direct access to the service. Han Chol-jin, a researcher at Kim Il Sung University, said the institute is focused on teaching ways to understand and acquire advanced technology and adapt it for domestic use. Earlier this month, Choson Sinbo, a pro-Pyongyang newspaper based in Japan, reported on global AI developments and the growing concerns and restrictions surrounding China's DeepSeek. The outlet criticized Western restrictions on Chinese AI technologies, claiming they are part of an effort to limit China's technological growth. It also stated that China has developed a low-cost AI model comparable to ChatGPT without advanced semiconductors. (Yonhap)

Sister of North Korea's Kim, married with children to ‘tall and handsome' man, defector says
A former North Korean diplomat has revealed that Kim Yo-jong, the influential sister of Pyongyang's ruler Kim Jong-un , is married to a 'tall and handsome' man and that two children who had appeared with her in a recent photograph released by state media are likely hers. Advertisement The revelation to South Korean daily JoongAng Ilbo provided a rare first-hand account from a senior official of the secretive regime regarding the life of its highly private family. Ryu Hyun-woo, North Korea 's acting ambassador to Kuwait when he defected to South Korea in 2019, told local media he had met Kim Yo-jong's family in 2014 during a visit to the tomb of Ko Yong-hui, mother of the Kim siblings. Speculation about Kim Yo-jong's marital status began on New Year's Day in 2015 when a newspaper photo showed her visiting an orphanage, wearing a ring. In 2014, multiple media outlets reported that she had married Choe Song, the son of Choe Ryong-hae, one of North Korea's most powerful officials. Choe Ryong-hae, vice-chairman of North Korea's ruling Workers' Party, is the father of Choe Song. EPA-EFE/Pool According to Ryu, the pair had met through a six-month special course at Kim Il Sung University.
