Upcoming Apple Vision Pro feature will make use of its excellent eye tracking
Apple is working on a new feature for its MR ( Mixed Reality ) headset that it will likely reveal in June during its WWDC ( Worldwide Developers Conference ) event. The company is expected to unveil visionOS 3 for the Apple Vision Pro which will bring with it the ability to scroll through apps using just your eyes.Apple designed a really novel way to navigate through visionOS : you look at something and then use your fingers to carry out an action. This required the headset to be able to track your eyes with extreme precision. Letting users forgo the requirement to use their fingers and rely solely on their eyes to navigate apps seems like the logical next step to build on said precise eye tracking.
The new feature will work with all of the built-in apps on visionOS and Apple is also working on allowing developers to integrate it into their own apps as well. But though this seems very exciting there is still something important that Apple still hasn't addressed.

This — alongside the $3,499 price tag of the headset — is one of the major reasons that the Vision Pro wasn't a commercial success. Gaming makes up a majority of the use cases for VR headsets and the lack of controllers really hurt the Vision Pro .There have been reports that Apple is in talks with Sony to bring PSVR2 controllers to the Vision Pro. However there really hasn't been any more news on that front since the initial leaks. I'm really hoping that Apple announces the result of that rumored collaboration at WWDC alongside introducing scrolling with your eyes.
The Meta Quest 3, as well as Meta's other VR headsets , enjoy the majority market share in the XR ( Extended Reality ) industry. This is because the Quest headsets are super affordable and cater to what most VR users really want from their gear: an immersive gaming experience.
New features like scrolling using your eyes are innovative and exciting but they're not enough to sell an MR headset, especially not one as expensive as the Vision Pro . Apple really needs to bring dedicated controllers to its headset as well as a more affordable successor if it wants to become relevant in the XR industry.

Apple surprisingly releases revised iOS 26 Developer Beta to fix serious battery issue
Apple has pushed out a revised version of the iOS 26 Developer Beta 1 to iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 owners, The first version was released a few hours following the keynote on June 9th, the first day of WWDC. Even though it is called a Developer Beta, you do not have to be a developer to install it and Apple no longer charges $99 to become one. As a result, several iPhone users with a compatible model are able to run the iOS 26 Beta on their iPhones with the typical beta bugs and all. So why did Apple feel compelled to disseminate a revised Developer Beta for iOS 26 today? A major bug in the first release could result in the low battery symbol appearing in the status bar in the upper right corner of the display. This could lead an iPhone to show the low battery symbol and fail to turn on after the installation of the first iOS 26 Developer Beta release. Today's update is supposed to prevent this battery issue from bricking an iPhone 15 or iPhone 16 series model. Apple has already said that it will release the first iOS 26 Public Beta in July. The most noticeable change in the iOS 26 Developer Beta 1 is the Liquid Glass design. If you've registered before with the Apple Beta Software Program, go to go to Settings > General > Software Update . At the top of the Software Update page, tap on Beta Updates, and on the next page, tap on iOS 26 Developer Beta. A check mark will appear indicating that you've selected this beta version to receive. Go back to Settings > General > Software Update and you should receive the prompt to install iOS 26 Developer Beta. Follow the directions to download it on your handset. Make sure you've backed up your iPhone first. If you have an iPhone 15 or iPhone 16 and have already loaded the iOS 26 Developer Beta on your phone, go directly to Settings > General > Software Update . You should be prompted to load the revised beta on your phone.

vivo releases more X Fold5 teaser images and a hands-on video
vivo is unveiling the X Fold5 in China on June 25, while its global launch may be coming on July 10. Ahead of the full announcement, the company has continued its teaser campaign on Weibo, where it has today released a bunch of new official images of the phone. There's even a hands-on video now doing the rounds in China, here it is embedded for your viewing pleasure. Obviously, it's in Chinese, but you don't need to understand the audio in order to appreciate what you're seeing, we'd wager. Alongside the images and the video, vivo is teasing the fact that the X Fold3 from last year still holds the record for being the lightest book-style foldable, and the X Fold5 will break that record. Thus it will weigh under 219g. That's slab-style phone territory. vivo X Fold5 official images The Fold5 is also said to be thinner than its predecessor, but despite that it will pack the largest capacity battery in any foldable, at 6,000 mAh. The battery has 12% silicon content and can operate at even -30°C. The hinge is tested to work in -20°C, and multitasking is promised to get a boost thanks to vivo's Atomic Workbench, a desktop-like experience.
