Alia Bhatt is officially Cannes-bound. The actress was spotted at Mumbai airport, flying out for the Cannes Film Festival 2025 just a week after reports suggested she might cancel her debut due to the ongoing India-Pakistan tensions.
Dressed in a chic all-Gucci look, Alia wore a beige trench coat over a white figure-hugging top paired with blue denims. She sported dark aviators and greeted paparazzi with a brief smile before heading inside without posing.
Her appearance comes days after speculation swirled online that the actress had decided to skip her Cannes debut altogether in solidarity with India, following the April Pahalgam attack which intensified Indo-Pak relations. Earlier reports claimed she would walk the red carpet on May 13 at the opening ceremony, but her appearance was mysteriously delayed.

While some unverified reports claimed the delay was political, others cited that her outfit may not have aligned with Cannes' last-minute fashion code. News18 cannot confirm these claims.
Putting all speculation to rest, Alia took to Instagram hours before her departure, posting a photo of her travel essentials. Her suitcase included the bestseller Atomic Habits and a makeup bag filled with L'Oréal Paris products emblazoned with their slogan, 'I'm worth it." She captioned the post, 'Off we go."
