Kingsley Michael to Kaizer Chiefs?

Kaizer Chiefs may have a new midfield star from the continent next season.
Looking at Amakhosi's current midfield, coach Nasreddine Nabi does not have enough options to compete with the likes of Yusuf Maart and Thabo Cele.
According to Soccer Laduma, the 25-year-old US Monastir midfielder Kingsley Michael is on the radar of the Kaizer Chiefs.
'He is currently playing in Tunisia and there are scouts who have been monitoring him there and he has been doing very well,' a source told the outlet on Kaizer Chiefs' moves.
'That's why he is back on Chiefs' radar. They haven't finalised the shopping list for next season as they are still looking at the players which they can afford and get. Kingsley Michael is one of those they are considering.
Meanwhile, the same publication has claimed that Kaizer Chiefs have increased the club's spending budget this coming winter.
'You know the budget went up? Yes, it's because they want to get almost all their targets this season and to do that they are willing to pay this time around. Kingsley Michael in action for US Monastir in Tunisia. Image: Goal
'So you know Kingsley is playing in Tunisia and they will need good money to bring him to Naturena, and they are believed to be working on doing just that,' an additional insider said.

'Kaizer Chiefs players and coach should be held accountable'

Kaizer Chiefs legend Neil Tovey feels the players and coaching staff should be held accountable for the club's poor season. Despite winning the Nedbank Cup, Amakhosi finished ninth in the Betway Premiership. This is the second successive time that Chiefs finished outside the Top 8, meaning the Soweto giants won't feature in next season's MTN8 competition. Some Kaizer Chiefs fans felt the season was decent as they finally ended their trophy drought after 10 years however, the club legend says league results are important. 'Chiefs have been poor, to be honest. In football, you are judged by your league position,' Tovey said. 'Given the stature of Chiefs, they should be a top three team, yet here they are in 9th place. That's really disappointing. It's not good at all. Many can be held accountable for this, including the players and the coaching staff,'he added. 'Yes, they won a trophy for the first time in 10 years, which is unusual for Chiefs. Typically, they don't go more than one or two years without a trophy. 'However, winning a trophy doesn't equate to having a good season. You will ultimately be judged by your league position. Consistency is key,' said the Kaizer Chiefs legend. Breaking: Kaizer Chiefs release TWO players

Kaizer Chiefs have announced the departure of two players. The two players set to leave are Njabulo Blom and Sabelo Radebe. The club announced the departures on Friday however, more players are expected to leave Amakhosi in the coming weeks. 'After completing his loan spell with Kaizer Chiefs, Njabulo Blom will return to his parent club, St. Louis City SC, in the United States of America. Blom rejoined the Amakhosi at the beginning of September 2024 under an agreement to spend a season at his boyhood Club in the Betway Premiership,' the club said in a statement. 'After donning the famous Gold & Black jersey for the second time in his career, the Dobsonville-born player departs Amakhosi with a Nedbank Cup gold medal, and we wish him all the best in Major League Soccer (MLS).' Blom rejoined Kaizer Chiefs this season on loan but only played 19 league matches, which most he featured from the bench. Another player released is Sabelo Radebe after featuring less than 20 times for Amakhosi in five years. 'Radebe, now 25, joined Amakhosi as a teenager and progressed through the junior ranks in the Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development Academy before moving up to the reserve team in the 2017/18 season,' the club said. He signed after earning a spot in the senior team in the 2020/21 season, following an impressive performance in the DStv Diski Challenge. 'Last season, he had a one year loan spell at KwaZulu-Natal based, Richards Bay FC. We wish 'Bibo' all the best in his future endeavours,' Kaizer Chiefs said in a statement. Nabi Tanzania meeting may have swung the deal to Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs were believed to be on the verge of missing out on yet another transfer target, Feisal 'Fei Toto' Salum, with reports suggesting that Tanzanian giants Simba SC had swooped in and were closing in on a deal. At the time, all signs pointed to Amakhosi falling short in their pursuit. However, the latest developments have reignited hope at Naturena. According to sources close to the negotiations, Salum's camp has grown increasingly unhappy with the terms proposed between his current club and CAF Confederation Cup finalists Simba SC. Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who previously worked with Salum during his successful stint at Yanga SC, is eager to reunite with the midfield maestro. The pair forged a strong working relationship in Tanzania, and their shared history could be the key to closing the deal. According to a reliable source quoted by The South African, 'Fei Toto and Nabi met in Tanzania and he wants to join Kaizer Chiefs.' This revelation suggests the deal is not only back on, but potentially closer than ever. Nabi personally met with Salum in Tanzania, confirming the seriousness of Chiefs' interest. It's clear the door has re-opened for the playmaker's move to South Africa. Meanwhile, reports claiming that Nabi also met with Denis Kibu have been proven false. Sources within the club's inner circle have flatly denied any such meeting took place. In fact, he might have been there for Mohamed Hussien as well, the teammate of Kibu at Simba. Following discussions with Nabi, Salum has been impressed by the Kaizer Chiefs project. With the technical team planning a strong rebuild for the upcoming season. The midfielder is said to be fully convinced and ready to commit to the Soweto giants. If all goes according to plan, Fei Toto could be donning the gold and black of Kaizer Chiefs next season.
