Inside Jonathan Ross' hugely famous family, split from wife and rarely-seen son

Daily Mirror24-05-2025

Jonathan Ross has been a major TV personality since the 1980s but he isn't the only famous face in his household
Jonathan Ross has been a prominent figure in the television industry since the 1980s, but he's not the only star in his family.
The beloved TV personality first graced our screens back in 1987 with The Last Resort with Jonathan Ross on Channel 4. Since then, he's hosted a plethora of shows, including his long-standing chat show and is readying to dazzle Traitors fans in the first ever celebrity special.

His work in television, radio presenting, and advertising has amassed him a considerable fortune, with an estimated net worth of £30 million.

Off-screen, he enjoys a blissful family life with his wife of nearly 27 years, screenwriter Jane Goldman, with the pair exchanging vows in an intimate ceremony back in 1988 when she was just 18 years old.
The pair who now share three children together - Betty Kitten, 33, Harvey Kirby, 31, and Honey Kinney, 28, - met when Jonathan was 26 and Jane 16, when she was working as a showbiz journalist.
Despite the many highs the celebrity couple has faced, there has been an equal measure of lows when their marriage hit the rocks.
The split
In 1999, the marital bliss hit rocky ground as Jane's battle with depression and a subsequent breakdown which required treatment at the Priory Clinic. This lead to the couple taking some time apart from one another.
At the time, their joint statement read: "Jane, who suffers from depression, recently had a breakdown for which she checked into the Priory Clinic for treatment.

"As a result of this very stressful period a great deal of strain has been put on the marriage. Jane and Jonathan's main concern at the moment is the happiness and security of their children."
Rarely seen son
Middle child Harvey is the least known family member and tends to avoid the public eye as much as possible. But more recently, he did bask in the spotlight next to his father and sister Honey, on the set of Celebrity Gogglebox.

Despite Harvey intending to keep a low profile and private matters under wraps, his dad and sister accidentally spilled details that he was due to be married soon.
During an episode of the Table Manners podcast with Jessie and Lennie Ware, with Honey also making a guest appearance with her famous dad, they began to discuss homelife and talk soon turned to Harvey.
Jonathan couldn't resist a playful dig at his son's hair maintenance habits, he joked: "Harvey has got the longest hair in the family, and largely unwashed. He doesn't wash it often because he's part of that gang who think you shouldn't use soaps."

Honey, slipping in a celebratory note, revealed: "He did just get engaged!" with Jonathan hinting at future family plans saying: "They're thinking of starting a family next year."
Betty's serious health issues
Meanwhile eldest daughter Betty, has been tackling serious health problems and has been brave enough to open up about her struggles, this following a fibromyalgia diagnosis in 2021.

Jane and Jonathan's eldest daughter was later diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome and postural tachycardia syndrome, a condition that causes a rapid increase in heart rate upon standing, often resulting in dizziness. Due to all of her individual conditions, Betty now needs to reply on an electric wheelchair for mobility.
Jonathan has never shied away from sharing his support and admiration, commenting to the Express: "It's been a tough couple of years for her [Betty] in particular, but she is getting slowly better."
TV star daughter

Their youngest daughter, Honey, is a model and an advocate for body positivity. She also co-hosts a podcast with her famous father called Reel Talk, where they chat about their favourite TV shows and films. Recently, she shared her distress over her family's "overexposure" on the show.
She has previously opened up about her struggles with self-esteem and during a stint on Loose Women, she urged other parents not to put their children on diets, stating: "They saw me, a teenage girl, coming home saying, 'I hate my body', They tried to give me solutions to a problem I brought to them, which was to lose weight.
"They presented me with diets and diets, as we know, don't work and are absolutely toxic. My advice to parents is keep that as far away from your children as possible, if you want them to have a good relationship with food and their bodies growing up do not shame them."

Other famous members
In addition to his numerous pets and children, Jonathan's brother Paul also gained recognition as a TV presenter on Channel 4's popular breakfast show The Big Breakfast, among other telly stints.
Another notable member of the family includes his late mother Martha, who became a well-known face on EastEnders.
The Jonathan Ross show is currently available to stream over on ITVX.

'Jane' gives tearful testimony about 'hotel nights' at Diddy's direction

A former girlfriend of Diddy's going by the pseudonym 'Jane' wept on the witness stand today as she described drug-induced sexual encounters with male escorts while she traveled the world with the music mogul. The marathon sex sessions, described by her as 'hotel nights' and similar to 'freak offs,' were organized at Diddy's direction, could last multiple days, and involved drugs and baby oil, she said. Through tears, she testified that she didn't know why she couldn't outright tell Diddy to stop and that he would give her 'multiple doses' of ecstasy per night to keep her awake. On her birthday in Miami in 2023, she testified, she had sex with multiple men as Diddy watched. Jane previously testified that Diddy was paying her rent and reiterated today that he continues to. She is one of four accusers referred to in the government's indictment that alleges Diddy ran his business empire as a criminal enterprise and exploited the women through his financial support. 'It's true that at any moment he could just do that if he wanted to,' Jane testified, 'cut me off.' 🔎 The view from inside By Adam Reiss and Jing Feng Diddy sat with his hands clasped in front of him as Jane testified, while attorneys for both the prosecution and defense appeared riveted by her on the stand. Diddy's demeanor is in the spotlight after Judge Arun Subramanian yesterday scolded his defense team for allowing him to make facial expressions toward the jury. Subramanian said it was 'absolutely unacceptable' and warned that if it happens again, he may remove Diddy from the courtroom. In other news: An attorney for Jane complained to Subramanian that media outlets are trying to expose her identity. The attorney accused the outlets of livestreaming and posting related articles, and asked the court to 'stop these attempts to violate the court's order' not to name her. The judge said he would consider issuing a media gag order if someone is found to have violated the rules. Next week: Jane is expected to return for more questioning by the prosecution before the defense begins its cross-examination. PSA: Every night during Diddy's trial, NBC's 'Dateline' will drop special episodes of the 'True Crime Weekly' podcast to get you up to speed. Alison wore a huge fake belly under a figure hugging dress as she showcased her moves to Starrkeisha's viral song Baby Mama. The broadcaster, who is already mum to son Aidan, 20, whom she shares with ex-husband, captioned the post: "Lots of AI stories online about me being pregnant. "I can confirm I am not having a baby as I'm not sure my 50 year old womb could take it . "However I do think we should all dance like Meghan!!" Of course, it wasn't long before Alison's followers rushed to post in the comments. One said: "Just another reason to love Alison." Another added: "I love this so much! And double yes to Meghan!." "Such a Queen," said another. While one fan gushed: "YOU ARE AMAZING ALISON X." Alison Hammond shows off 11 stone weight loss in leggings as she hits the gym for gruelling workout Meghan, 43, released the 89-second clip of her and Prince Harry to her three million followers on Instagram after earlier posting unseen photos of her daughter. It showed the heavily pregnant Meghan making rowing movements and shimmying her shoulders beside the hospital bed. Prince Harry also shuffles into view in a hoodie to the strains of then-viral pregnancy hit The Baby Momma Dance. But the clip sparked bizarre claims from conspiracy theorists, who questioned whether the baby bump was real. The wild online speculation cruelly suggested that Meghan wasn't pregnant at all and was in fact wearing a prosthetic pregnant belly or "moonbump". Some went even further with groundless claims that the video was faked, made on a film set or even generated by AI. Meanwhile, Alison who is already on nearly every channel, making programmes about baking, travel, dogs and hobnobbing with celebrities - has bagged yet another show. The TV celebrity will this summer front new Channel 4 project Your Song. In the series she will tour Britain giving ordinary members of the public the chance to perform a track which has special meaning to them. But Alison will have to squeeze her new job into her schedule. As well as appearing soon on Channel 4's Bake Off and Celebrity Gogglebox, for the BBC she's just made travel series Florida Unpacked and interview show Alison Hammond's Big Weekend for the BBC.
