SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER has broken his silence on 'fart-gate' that left the Open commentators in stitches.
The American golfer was taking a shot at the green on the 17th hole when a fart noise was heard over the broadcast.

The noise caught the attention of Andrew Cotter on the broadcast microphone.
He and his co-commentator burst into a fit of laughter as the moment also went viral on social media.
Scheffler, 29, has now revealed who was responsible for the comedic flatulence.
It was none other than... HIMSELF.
The world no.1 made the shocking revelation while making an appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast.
He was asked by host Eric "PFT Commenter" Sollenberger if it was he who indeed farted.
Scheffler said: "Yeah that was me.
"You are out there for six hours, eating some different food over there, some stuff is going to happen.

"You never know where the boom mic is and what it is going to pick up.
"I'm actually surprised it has not happened more in the past.

"I did not think anything about it and afterwards I was shown the video I could see me standing on the 17th and I was like 'I know what this is'.
"It was good, had a good sound to it, we were outside, perfect."
Scheffler followed up the first-tainted shot by rolling in the putt for birdie.
He finished his day one round three under before going on to win the whole tournament.
His closest challenger was Harris English, who shot 66 to finish on -13.

New York gunman was targeting NFL offices but took the wrong lift, mayor says
A gunman who killed four people at a Manhattan office building was trying to target the headquarters of the National Football League (NFL) but took the wrong lift, according to New York City mayor Eric Adams. Investigators believe Shane Tamura, of Las Vegas, was trying to get to the NFL offices after shooting several people on Monday in the building's lobby but accidentally entered the wrong set of lifts, Mr Adams said in interviews on Tuesday. Advertisement Four people, including an off-duty New York City police officer, were killed. Police said Mr Tamura had a history of mental illness, and a rambling note found on his body suggested he had a grievance against the NFL over an unsubstantiated claim that he suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). He had played American football in high school in California nearly two decades ago but never in the NFL. 'He seemed to have blamed the NFL,' the mayor said. 'The NFL headquarters was located in the building, and he mistakenly went up the wrong elevator bank.' Advertisement The note claimed he had been suffering from CTE – the degenerative brain disease that has been linked to concussions and other repeated head trauma common in contact sports — and said his brain should be studied after he died, two people familiar with the matter told the Associated Press. It also specifically referenced the National Football League, one of the people familiar with the matter said. The note also referenced former NFL player Terry Long, who was diagnosed with CTE, and the manner in which Mr Long killed himself in 2005. The note accused the NFL of concealing the dangers to players' brains for profit. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell called the shooting 'an unspeakable act of violence in our building', saying he was deeply grateful to the law enforcement officers who responded and the officer who gave his life to protect others. Everton sell women's team to parent company
Everton have sold their women's team to the parent company which owns the club - a move that will improve their compliance with the Premier League's profitability and sustainability rules (PSR).The team has been purchased by Roundhouse Capital Holdings, which is owned and controlled by American businessman Dan Friedkin Group completed its takeover of Everton in December move allows the women's team to act as a standalone entity and attract minority investment. The men's team, meanwhile, benefits from the sale being recorded as revenue in the club's accounts, which positively impacts their PSR position. The women's team at Everton has control of Goodison Park, so that would make it an attractive all-in is positive news because it means there is the opportunity for more money to come into the women's team from a minority investor. There wasn't enough attention given to the women's team under the old ownership you get the surroundings right, if you get the pricing right, you can attract a new type of fanbase and a different demographic. You can go to sponsors and partners and say, "we are the women's team, we are different from the men's team, and you can benefit from that."There are huge opportunities here and there's a feel-good factor following the Euros final on Sunday and I think it's the right time to capitalise on that.
