Hrithik-Jr NTR's War 2 Is A Colossal Disappointment, Says YRF's Pathaan AD Rajvir Ashar

War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, received mixed reviews. Pathaan Assistant Director Rajvir Ashar called it a 'colossal disappointment' and 'weakest film' of YRF Spyverse.
Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR's War 2 opened to mixed reviews from the audience. The film opened to great numbers; however, it saw a huge drop in Day 3 collections. Amid a section of the audience criticising the film, Assistant Director Rajvir Ashar, who has worked alongside Siddharth Anand in YRF-backed SRK's Pathaan, has slammed War 2. He called the film a 'colossal disappointment".
Rajvir Ashar maintains a private account on Instagram. However, a screenshot of his War 2 review has been going viral on Reddit. Taking to his Instagram story, Ashar posted a photo of a near-empty theatre for War 2 and called it the 'weakest film" of YRF's spyverse. He then wrote, 'This one was just a heartbreaking experience for me. I was rooting for this film and all it did was upset me to no degree! A mid first half is followed by a deplorable and overlong second. Neither did it have enough highs nor was it successful in resonating with me emotionally! The most 'anticipated' day turned out to be a 'colossal' disappointment. Weakest film of the universe!" Take a look:
When Rajvir Ashar praised Jawan, took a dig at Adipurush
In the past Rajvir Ashar spoke about Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan while taking a dig at Prabhas' Adipurush. Taking to his Instagram story back then, he had written, 'Chills! Literal Chills! To me, this is cinema…peak commercial cinema!!! No 700 cr budget, no 'go watch in 3D instead of phone excuses", just some pure passion! This one is gonna create absolute pandemonium!!! And what do I say about @iamsrk…ufff he's just built different man!"
He added, 'No PR, No filthy dialogues, No hate for anyone, No religious bigotry, No propaganda movies. Just pure entertainment to entertain the world! That's SRK for you! Truly 'The Last of the Stars'."
Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Aditya Chopra, War 2 is the latest entrant in the YRF Spy Universe. Starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, the high-octane action entertainer released on August 14, 2025, in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. It clashed with Rajinikanth's Coolie from South, which is doing phenomenally well at the box office by earning Rs 300 crore worldwide in just three days.

James Comey says Taylor Swift inspires him to fight ‘bullies,' claims she sees ‘Trump for what he is'

Former FBI Director James Comey admitted in a video that he is a Swiftie, and that Taylor Swift has been his source of life advice on handling bullies. He slammed Donald Trump while bragging about a family "Swiftie" group chat, and revealed that he has been to two concerts of Swift, and helped some relatives afford tickets too. "I'm in a family's Switie group chat. I know all her music and I listen to it in my headphones when I cut the grass," Comey said. "Taylor Swift has grown up with my family and provided us a soundtrack, really, as we've grown ourselves and learned and adapted and dealt with adversity and celebration," Comey said, adding that millions of family members probably feel the same. Read More | Former FBI director James Comey calls controversy over Instagram post "a bit of a distraction" Comey went on to say that at every stage of the singer's career, she has shown a way that has resonated with kids. He said this felt right to him as a parent, adding that Swift has continued to do so as an adult artist too. 'She's made clear that she sees Donald Trump for what he is' Comey said Swift's example has helped him fight "bullies" without becoming like them. "But I gotta be honest, it also leaves me with a strange feeling at times, because I don't want us to become like Trump and his followers," he further said. 'There are far more decent, honest, kind people in America than there are mean jerks. And don't get me wrong, we have our jerks, millions of them.' "I am not an advocate for weakness. Of course, we need to stand up to jerks and defend what matters, but I think we have to try to do that without becoming like them, which is what makes me think about Taylor Swift," he said. "She's made clear that she sees Donald Trump for what he is. Last year, she urged Americans not to make the serious mistake of electing him.' Read More | What does 8647 mean? James Comey deletes controversial Instagram photo, says 'I oppose violence' "Of course, we're now living with the consequences of that mistake. But while our elderly makeup-covered president is posting about whether Taylor Swift is still hot and declaring that he can't stand her, what's she doing? Living her best life, producing great music and, as she urged all of us to do during the podcast, not giving the jerks power over her mind," Comey added. Comey went on to cite Swift's advice to treat personal energy "like a luxury item.' He then linked this to some research that found rudeness makes people less happy. "We can't stop people from being jerks. What we can do is stop it from hurting us, from changing us," he said. Comey opened up about the second time he saw Swift at a concert in Hartford, Connecticut 14 years ago. He recalled that Swift sang a song asking bad people "why you gotta be so mean." "I bet you got pushed around. Somebody made you cold. But the cycle ends right now, because you can't leave me down that road," Comey said, reciting Swift's lyrics for 'Mean.' "You'll be glad I didn't sing that. That's right, because down that road of unhappiness, nobody should have that power over us."

Coolie worldwide box office collection day 4: Rajinikanth-starrer is #1 film in the world; beats Weapons, Nobody 2

Coolie worldwide box office collection: Rajinikanth's Coolie is going from strength to strength at the box office. The action thriller directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj opened to record-breaking numbers and has kept the momentum going through its extended opening weekend, despite some lukewarm reviews. Now, Coolie has done the unthinkable by becoming the number one movie at the worldwide box office in its opening weekend. Coolie worldwide box office collection: Rajinikanth's film has topped the global box office this weekend. (Photo by Raju Shinde/HT Photo)(Raju Shinde) Coolie worldwide box office report Coolie earned ₹194.25 crore net ( ₹233 crore gross) in its four-day extended opening weekend in India. It is the fastest Tamil film to ₹100 crore, and will likely become the fastest to ₹200 crore on Monday. But Coolie's overseas earnings are just as impressive. The film set new benchmarks for Tamil films with record-breaking openings in North America, the UK, and Australia. By Sunday, the film has earned over $18 million ( ₹160 crore) in the international market. Its total worldwide haul stands at ₹393 crore ($45 million) after four days. How Coolie became the #1 film in the world Coolie's $45 million haul is impressive for any Indian film in its first four days. But the end of the Hollywood summer and the absence of a big tentpole film in the US this weekend have meant that it is enough to top the charts globally as well. Coolie managed to beat the horror film, Weapons, which earned an estimated $44 million over the last four days (Thursday-Sunday). The Zach Cregger film earned $29 million in the US, according to Box Office Mojo, in addition to $15 million overseas. In the third spot during this extended weekend is Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR's War 2, which has earned an estimated $30 million in its first four days. The YRF Spy Universe is level with Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan's Freakier Friday, which brought home the same amount. The only new Hollywood release this weekend - Nobody 2 starring Bob Odenkirk - opened at just $14 million worldwide, far behind Coolie. All about Coolie Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie stars Rajinikanth as the titular retired coolie, who ends up embroiled in a gangster's world (Simon, played by Nagarjuna) after the death of his friend. The film also stars Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, and Sathyaraj, with a cameo from Aamir Khan.
