Woman spots Gucci bag in charity shop and is floored by price tag

A woman popped into her local charity store and spotted a Gucci bag on display in a glass cabinet alongside some jewellery but was amazed after clocking how much it was being sold for
A woman got lucky after spotting a Gucci bag in a charity shop for an absolute steal. Gucci is a prominent, world renowned, luxury design house founded in Italy in 1921. It offers an array of handbags, clothing and accessories, shoes and even home decoration.
Gucci also boasts a fragrance and cosmetics line under the name Gucci Beauty. Typically, the luxury retailer's bag prices vary. The brand's Ophidia mini bag, crafted in beige and white GG Supreme canvas, is currently priced at £610 to purchase directly from its website, for example.
On the higher end of the spectrum, its Diana medium tote bag - which comes in six colours and is constructed in leather - is available for £3,170.
Vintage Gucci bags can be especially expensive, particularly if they're from a limited edition release or rare. On eBay, a limited edition Gucci Crocodile Bag is available from £24,086.72.
Many bargain hunting fashion lovers turn to charity shops on the hunt for stylish clothing and accessories at a fraction of the cost.
Those looking to make more sustainable fashion choices and avoid buying fast fashion similarly visit charity and secondhand shops when looking to pad out their wardrobes.
There's plenty of options available which allow people to shop for less while supporting a good cause, or simply snap up some much needed bargains while the cost of living continues to rise.
Discount chain store Goodwill boasts more than 150 outlets across the United States and Canada, where it offers bargain hunters 'hundreds of thousands of unique items up for grabs at any given time, including art, books, vinyl records, clothing, home décor, jewellery, musical instruments, sports, toys, and more'.
One woman ventured into her local Goodwill store in northern California and was amazed after spotting a Gucci bag for sale.
It wasn't on the shop floor with the rest of the items, it was alongside the jewellery in a glass display case which led the woman to deduce 'it was real'.
There are many fake copies of designer goods often sold as though they're the real deal. If you're buying a designer item from a secondhand source, make sure you have it authenticated before splashing the cash.
The woman shared her Gucci find on Facebook with the caption 'Gucci crossbody found at Goodwill today', where she declared the bag to be a genuine Gucci number after the serial number was checked.
It was on offer for just $49.99 (£36.82) but as the woman is a 'regular' client, they allowed her to have a slight discount and sold it to her for $44.99 (£33.13).
The woman didn't want to share the exact location of the store where she found the designer item because she was worried about getting in 'trouble' with 'some managers'.

Diamond Experts Weigh In On Cristiano Ronaldo's 'Extraordinary' £8 Million Engagement Ring

Around £7.5 million. That's the reported price tag on the diamond ring Cristiano Ronaldo chose for his proposal - proving once again that the football legend knows how to make a lasting impression both on and off the field. Georgina Rodríguez shared the news on Instagram with a single, striking image: her hand, adorned with the colossal sparkler, resting against Ronaldo's. She captioned it, 'Sí, quiero. En esta y en todas mis vidas' - 'Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives.' And I will say, I have never seen a diamond on an engagement ring so big - it's practically setting the standard for every celebrity proposal from here on out. Fans were quick to weigh in, flooding the comments with awe. 'This is breathtaking,' wrote one, while another declared, 'No one should ever show their engagement ring again.' Agreed. Diamond experts from UK jeweller Steven Stone examined the piece, breaking down exactly why it's such a standout. 'Georgina has been anticipating this jewellery moment for quite some time and Cristiano certainly delivered,' says Maxwell Stone. 'The footballer proposed with an extraordinary 30-carat oval-cut diamond, a true showstopper. To put this into perspective, while the average celebrity engagement ring boasts around 4 carats, the typical ring for everyday people is closer to 1 carat. 'The impressive centre stone is flanked by substantial side stones and almost certainly set on a platinum band. Known for its density, durability, and rarity, platinum is the most coveted and most expensive metal choice for engagement rings. With Georgina's jewellery collection already valued at over $4 million, it's hardly surprising that her engagement ring is, without question, the most spectacular we've seen so far this year. I'd estimate it to be worth around $10 million (£7.5 million).' Ronaldo and Rodríguez's love story spans eight years, beginning when they met at a Gucci store in Madrid. They share two daughters Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda and are co-parents to Ronaldo's other children. In the Netflix documentary I Am Georgina , Ronaldo once said: 'I always tell her: 'When we get that click. Like everything with our life, and she knows what I'm talking about. It could be in a year, or it could be in six months, or it could be in a month. 'I'm 1000% sure that it will happen.' Talk about a long anticipation but certainly worth the wait. Rumours had already been swirling earlier this year when Rodríguez stepped out with a ring of similar size, but now the speculation is over Renee Washington , Grazia's digital fashion and beauty writer, lives online. With a penchant for wispy lashes and streetwear, she writes about the worlds of fashion and beauty from the viewpoint of the modern fashion girlie.. Main image credit: @georginagio

Abbey Clancy flashes her svelte physique in a gold skimpy bikini and sports trendy £430 Gucci bucket hat on luxury south of France holiday with shirtless husband Peter Crouch

Abbey Clancy flashed her svelte physique in a gold skimpy bikini as she enjoyed a day at the beach in the south of France with her shirtless husband Peter Crouch on Tuesday. The bikini-clad model, 39, was every inch the style icon in a trendy £430 Gucci bucket hat and stylish crochet cover up. Former footballer Peter, 44, showed off his abs as he strolled along the beach in turtle pattern shorts. Abbey looked as though she couldn't bare the sweltering heat as she wrapped a scarf around her head to keep out of the sun. Abbey and Peter's trip to France comes just days after they holidayed in Almancil, Portugal with their children. The loved-up couple share four children - Sophia, 14, Liberty, ten, Johnny, seven, and Jack, six. Peter and Abbey, who married in 2011, looked more than loved-up on their relaxing break away. The couple jetted off for their sun-soaked holiday just weeks after celebrating their 14th wedding anniversary. They got married at Stapleford Park on June 30, 2011, and renewed their vows in the Maldives to mark their ten-year anniversary. Abbey recently opened up on the way she's kept her marriage to Peter thriving over the years. She admitted the key was 'growing together' throughout time with Peter and always staying 'in sync' with him. 'When we look back at our wedding day, some of the choices we've made, some things we've done in the past, we're like ''Bloody hell, who were we then?'',' the TV star told The Mirror. 'But today? We're still in sync, we've got the same interests and the same things that make us laugh. It's really a happy time for us at the moment. 'We honestly do everything together, except work - actually even work, because we have our podcast.' Peter later slipped into a blue linen shirt as he sipped on a glass of wine The couple jetted off for their sun-soaked holiday just weeks after celebrating their 14th wedding anniversary The model looked incredibly stylish in her beach wear The couple often give humorous insights into their relationship on their podcast, The Therapy Crouch, not shying away from discussing anything and everything. During one chat on their podcast, the couple revealed the strict rule they've placed on their four children to improve their behaviour. They implemented an iPad and phone ban at Christmas, insisting it's led to a more positive attitude in their household. Peter explained: 'We said to them iPads and phones are gone and I feel we've stuck to that. We made a conscious effort amongst ourselves to cut them out and they've properly cut them out.' They mentioned other rules they've put in place include focusing on homework, spending time as a family before having quality time together once the kids go to bed. Though their new rules were a success, it is not always plain-sailing and Abbey admitted Peter can sometimes get on her nerves when it comes to parenting. She told OK! magazine: 'Pete's good cop and I'm bad cop. I'm the one going, 'Do your homework, eat your veg', and Pete's like, 'Let's play, kids!' which can be annoying but… it works. 'Our kids are very good, though. They've all got distinct personalities but they're all easy-going. That's not to say family life isn't chaotic – it's chaotic! There's absolutely nothing chilled about, but we wouldn't have it any other way.'
