Oregon at Michigan State odds, picks and predictions
The Oregon Ducks (16-7, 5-7 Big Ten) visit the No. 9 Michigan State Spartans (18-4, 9-2) Saturday at Breslin Center in East Lansing. Tip-off is scheduled for noon ET (FOX). Let's analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's college basketball odds around the Oregon vs. Michigan State odds, and make our expert college basketball picks and predictions.
The Ducks lost 80-76 at Michigan to open the 2-game Great Lake States road trip, but Oregon was able to cover as a 7.5-point underdog to halt a 6-game non-cover skid. The Over (152) cashed, and the total has now gone high in 4 of the past 5 outings.
The Spartans had a rough ride in Southern California, losing to USC and UCLA Feb. 1-4, although the average margin of defeat was just 4.0 points per game (PPG). After an 8-1 against-the-spread (ATS) run from Nov. 27-Jan. 12, Sparty is just 2-3-1 ATS in the past 6 games. The Under has cashed in 3 in a row and 8 of the past 11 outings.
These teams met in a non-conference game at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland, Ore., on Nov. 26, 2022. Sparty won 74-70 while cashing as a 3.5-point favorite while the Over (134) hit.

Oregon at Michigan State picks and predictions
Prediction
Michigan State 76, Oregon 67
Michigan State (-375) costs more than 3½ times the potential return, and that's way too much risk for not nearly enough reward.
For the Spartans, they are risky because they've suffered losses in the past 2 games, too.
However, Oregon (+290) has dropped 4 in a row, and it cannot be trusted, too.
AVOID.

BACK MICHIGAN STATE -8.5 (-110) lightly.
Oregon +8.5 (-115) is just 1-6 ATS in the past 7 games, while going 4-10 ATS in the previous 14 outings.
For Michigan State, it is just 2-3-1 ATS in the previous 6 contests, so neither of these teams is killing it from a cover perspective.
UNDER 146.5 (-105) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at best.
The Under has cashed in 3 consecutive outings for Michigan State, while going 4-1 in the previous 5 contests. In addition, Sparty has cashed low on the total in each of the past 2 games at home, while going 7-1 in the past 8 outings at Breslin Center.
For Oregon, though, the Over is 4-1 in the past 5 games, so proceed with caution. The Under is 3-3 in 6 road conference games to date.

MSU target, 4-star RB Damon Ferguson commits to Pitt
MSU target, 4-star RB Damon Ferguson commits to Pitt Michigan State football is still in search for a running back prospect in the 2026 class, with another top target now off the board. Four-star running back Damon Ferguson announced his commitment to Pitt on Monday morning. Ferguson posted on his social media X account to announce his commitment to the Panthers, which comes after taking an official visit there this past weekend. Ferguson is a four-star running back prospect with a recruiting rating of 89.33 in 247Sports' composite system. He ranks as the No. 26 running back and No. 381 overall prospect in 247Sports' composite rankings for the 2026 class. Michigan State is one of a few schools that were prioritizing Ferguson's recruitment before his commitment to the Pitt Panthers. He was set to take an official visit to Michigan State next week, and Indiana, Minnesota and Virginia were also heavily involved in his recruitment with official visits either planned or already occurring. Michigan State has now struck out on a pair of four star running back prospects in Ferguson and Kory Amachree of nearby Haslett, Mich. The Spartans will need to look elsewhere as their running backs board is starting to look thin in the 2026 class. Former USC guard Desmond Claude commits to Washington
Former USC guard Desmond Claude commits to Washington Back in April, USC men's basketball star guard Desmond Claude made headlines when he surprisingly entered the transfer portal. On Sunday, Claude found a new home: He is headed to the Pacific Northwest to join Big Ten foe Washington. Claude is not the first Trojan transfer to depart for the Huskies this offseason. In May, Washington hired away USC assistant coach Quincy Pondexter. Shortly following that move, another high-profile Trojan transfer, Wesley Yates III, also announced his commitment to the Huskies. Here is what Huskies Wire had to say about the addition of Claude: 'As the Huskies scoured the country for a seasoned, high-impact wing to round out the rotation, the 6-foot-6 senior, who was named an All-Big Ten honorable mention for the 2024-25 season, is the perfect fit. Although he shot just 30.7 percent from long range last season, which has been one of Sprinkle's biggest points of emphasis throughout the offseason, Claude led the Trojans with an average of 15.8 points and 4.2 assists per game, adding 3.5 rebounds per contest while bringing several much-needed aspects to the roster.' With Claude and Yates both departing Southern California for Seattle, next season's matchups between USC and Washington should certainly be interesting. The Trojans and Huskies are slated to face off twice next season—once at Galen Center, and once in the Pacific Northwest.
