CM: Will release Rs 9k cr under Rythu Bharosa in next 9 days

Hyderabad: Amid speculation of panchayat elections being held soon, chief minister A Revanth Reddy, with his entire cabinet in attendance, announced disbursal of Rs 9,000 crore under govt's most important welfare programme, Rythu Bharosa, to over 70 lakh farmers in the next nine days, starting Monday.
The announcement was made during the 'Rythu Nestham' programme held at the Prof Jayashankar Agriculture University on Monday.
The CM ceremoniously initiated the fund transfer by pressing a button at the event which was directly seen by over 6 lakh farmers who participated through 1,600 Rythu Vedikas across the state.
On Monday, the govt released Rs 6,000 per acre into the accounts of 41.25 lakh farmers who own up to two acres, covering a total of 39.16 lakh acres.
The total funds released on Monday amounted to Rs 2,349 crore.
The presence of the cabinet during the programme suggested that the govt may soon announce a schedule for local body elections, sources said.
The event also marked the expansion of the existing Rythu Vedikas – where farmers receive guidance from scientists via video conference – from 500 to 1,600. During the programme, the CM interacted with farmers from various districts, emphasising the govt's commitment to making farmers prosperous.

He told them that despite challenges, the govt was providing Rythu Bharosa funds to ensure that farmers did not suffer.
The CM said those who disregarded farmers should not hold leadership positions in the state or country. He specifically targeted BRS leaders, stating that after ruling Telangana for nearly a decade and ignoring farmers, they were now pretending to be farmers' friends. On the other hand, the Congress govt had spent nearly Rs 1 lakh crore on agricultural sector in a short period, including loan waivers, he pointed out.
"The BRS did not waive loans as promised during their entire tenure, they only waived loans worth Rs 17,000 crore in almost 10 years. Despite the financial challenges created by them, we have paid Rs 21,000 crore as a one-time loan waiver in a short time soon after coming to power. Also, with solar pumps for agriculture, there will be significant changes in the farming sector. Our goal is to make farming profitable. We are even paying bonuses for high-quality paddy varieties," the CM said.
Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka also mentioned that apart from Rs 1 lakh crore already spent, the govt planned to invest Rs 3 lakh crore on the agriculture sector over the next few years.

Eat jowar roti, wash own clothes for fit body: CM
During the Rythu Nestham event, CM emphasised on the benefits of traditional food and living habits for staying fit instead of gym workouts.
While speaking about vegetable cultivation, the CM suggested that youth should eat jowar roti instead of following fad diets and eating tasteless greens. This, along with washing own clothes, would build muscles and give them a six-pack body without spending money on gyms, the CM said.
Ruing how changing crops have led to many flavours now missing, the CM said that traditional curry like dosakaya (yellow cucumber) with toor dal, as done in Achampet, tasted even better than chicken or mutton.

Road widening work begins in Vemulawada
Sircilla: The road widening work that has been pending in the town for a decade in Vemulawada town, where Sri Vemulawada Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple, known as the Dakshina Kashi of Sircilla, is located commenced. The town development goes on in accordance with the increasing urban population. The MLA said he and the officials visited Sringeri Peethani 4 times to expand the Vemulawada temple in 4 acres and are moving forward with the development of the temple after taking their suggestions and advice. Better facilities will be provided to the devotees of Rajanna who come from other states as well as from our own state so that they can have a quick darshan, he said. On the occasion of the road expansion from Vemulawada Tippapur Bridge to Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy Temple, Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha and Vemulawada RDO Radhabai distributed cheques to 20 displaced persons who are parting with their lands.

Hyderabad: The performance of the ministers in the upcoming local body elections will be a litmus test for them. Those who fail to achieve the desired results in the crucial elections w ill face the consequences. This was the hard-hitting warning served by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to his cabinet colleagues during an informal meeting with them here on Monday. The local body elections, release of Rythu Bharosa funds and implementation of Rajiv Yuva Vikasam, Indiramma houses and other welfare and development programmes initiated by the state government came up for discussion during the meeting. The Chief minister explained about the Congress strategy to defeat the opposition in the ensuing elections and winning most of the local bodies, especially Grama Panchayats, Mandal Parishads, Zilla Parishad and municipalities. Hinting at the release of a notification for the local body elections later this month, Revanth Reddy cautioned the ministers that the party high command will take a call on their continuation in the cabinet based on their performances in the local body elections. Sources said that the ministers brought to the fore some challenges being faced by them in some Assembly constituencies where the local leaders are unhappy due to delay in filling nominated posts. They also urged the CM to release funds to complete pending works that were taken up in local bodies to avoid ground-level resentment that could impact the poll prospects. The ministers were also given the responsibility of coordinating with the local MLAs and providing necessary support to address the local issues before the election notification was issued. The Chief Minister urged the ministers to take up a campaign on the implementation of the schemes at the gross-root level, mainly disbursement of the Rythu Bharosa benefits, selection of beneficiaries under Indiramma, Rajiv Yuva Viaksam and release of funds to women self-help groups. The ministers have been asked to organize special meetings with women groups and convince them to support the Congress in the ensuing local body elections.

Left-out women can reapply for Rs 1,000 aid at ‘Ungaludan Stalin' camps from July 15, says CM
THANJAVUR: The women who were left out during the initial phases of the 'Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam', wherein a monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,000 is given to eligible women under the scheme, can submit fresh applications at the 10,000 'Ungaludan Stalin' camps to be held across the state from July 15, said Chief Minister MK Stalin. The CM made the announcement at a government function held in Thanjavur on Monday. The public grievance redressal camps will be held from July 15 to October-end. 'As many as 3,768 camps will be held in urban areas and 6,232 in rural areas,' the CM said, adding that in urban camps the public can submit applications to avail of 43 services offered by 13 government departments, while in rural camps 46 services offered by 14 departments will be considered. Decisions will be taken on these applications within 45 days, he said. Volunteers will be on the doorstep and they will guide citizens on how to apply for a service and what all documents are required to be submitted, Stalin added. Medical camps too will be organised at the 'Ungaludan Stalin' camps.
