The next phase
The 11-track project is expected to deliver a tone of gratitude, featuring open-hearted love songs to oneself, other people and situations, and celebrate being at peace both, within and with one's surroundings.
The theme is also reflected in the way the body of work came together, as it is the first to be fully written and recorded by all the band members.
Since its establishment in 2018, frontman Will Anderson has been writing and recording all of the ensemble's music. However, he revealed, in an interview, that the creating process for the new music has also included his bandmates: guitarist Lucky Hunter, bassist Haylen Trammel and drummer Mike Ralston.
Will also stated that he never intended for Hotline TNT to be a 'one-man band operation', and that he believes it was an unfortunate matter of circumstance to have done so with the previous two records.
Released last month, the third single off the album titled Break Right is the first to be written and produced collaboratively with the rest of the group.
'Some songs hide their meanings behind a facade of metaphors, PR quotes and half-measures. Break Right hides nothing,' Will said.
'This is the sound of TNT becoming a band. Every effect has been unplugged, every sample has been deprogrammed and every emotion has been laid bare. You've never heard a Hotline song quite like this before,' he added.

Taylor Swift announces 12th album for ‘pre pre-order'
US popstar Taylor Swift announced her 12th album, titled 'The Life of a Showgirl,' for 'pre pre-order' just after midnight Tuesday in posts on her website. Her online shop displayed blurred images of a record, CD and cassette tape overlaid with a glittery orange lock, explaining the album artwork would be 'revealed at a later date.' A disclaimer also notes that the release date has not yet been announced, and the album will ship before October 13. 'So I wanted to show you something,' the singer says in a video clip posted to her Instagram as she holds up a vinyl album, its cover completely blurred. 'This is my brand new album 'The Life of a Show Girl',' she says in the clip from the 'New Heights' podcast, hosted by her boyfriend, American football player Travis Kelce, and his brother, exNFL player Jason Kelce. 'TS12!' Travis Kelce exclaims in the video. 'The Life of a Showgirl' is the follow-up to Swift's last studio album, ' The Tortured Poets Department,' which was released last year and sold 1.4 million copies the first day. Since 2021, she has been making good on her vow to re-record her first six studio records in a bid to own the rights to them. In May, the 14 - time Grammy Award winner, who was locked in a feud with record executives since 2019 over the ownership of her music, said she had bought back the rights to her entire back catalog for an undisclosed sum. The 35-year-old songwriting sensation shattered records with her nearly two-year-long Eras tour that ended last year. It raked in $2 billion over 149 shows around the world, making it the most lucrative tour in music history.

Spelling out grief
Adult fiction author Joanne Yi's debut novel All the Tomorrows After hits the shelves on August 19. The story follows Korean-American teen Winter Moon, a girl in a troubled household. She is saving money in hopes of escaping with her terminally ill grandmother and living a better life. However, Winter's spiteful mother steals her money and blows through it all in one day, forcing the young girl to return to her estranged father, who reappears after being absent for more than a decade. The two agree that Winter would spend time with him in exchange for payment. In an interview, the author said she took inspiration from her own grief journey and heritage, explaining that she lost her father to terminal illness, and that anticipatory grief did not prepare her as she knew and rejected his fate. 'I've spent most of my adulthood trying to find the right words. What I've learned is that there are none, really, to articulate a loved one's slow and inevitable deterioration,' Joanne explained. 'All the Tomorrows After is shaped by our journey, which began in the absence of hope and continues in the absence of a farewell. It is inspired by my father, his battle to maintain his identity, and our family's experiences as caregivers. It is a reflection of myself as a young adult navigating grief, guilt, and isolation,' she added.

Musical introspection
American artist Chancelor Johnathan Bennett aka Chance the Rapper drops his long-awaited album Star Line tomorrow. The project tackles personal change and life lessons and marks the artist's return since his debut release The Big Day (2019), themed on his wedding that year. It drew harsh criticism from fans on social media, who considered it a downgrade from its preceding mixtapes. The artist has since divorced his wife and Internet personality Kirsten Corley. In an interview, Chance said the new album is inspired by his trips to Jamaica and Ghana and attending various art fairs around the world. 'Going to Ghana, reconnecting with a lot of my family, going through relationships changing, getting divorced – there are a lot of things that happened between my last project and this day,' he said. 'I think the sounds, production-wise, if they're not super experimental, they're based on some of the Black music that was influential to me throughout my childhood or through my travels.' According to the artist, he was also inspired by Black Star Line, a shipping and passenger company that was started in 1919 by Jamaican activist Marcus Garvey for people of African descent. 'I was really inspired by his work and some of the ideas and opinions that he had, on us all being one people. So when I came to Ghana for the first time in January, I was already inspired by Marcus Garvey and Garveyism. I learned a little bit of family history regarding Garveyism and how it connected to their faith,' Chance added. 'Garveyism' refers to the body of thought and organisational activities associated with the namesake activist. The album also marks a reunion between Chance and illustrator Brandon Breaux, who has created artworks for all of his other projects (except The Big Day).
