AD: Ladurée Arabia Launches New Savoury Menu Across Saudi Locations

CairoScene2 days ago
From truffled burgers to caviar-topped blinis, Ladurée Arabia's new savoury menu adds a seasonal, all-day dining experience across its locations in Riyadh and Jeddah.
Ladurée Arabia, the French patisserie known globally for its pastel-coloured macarons, is expanding its culinary offering in Saudi Arabia with the launch of an all-new savoury menu. Now available across all Ladurée Arabia branches in the Kingdom, the new additions bring a refined touch to breakfast, lunch, and dinner service.
The breakfast section balances French technique with regional flair. Guests can choose from Eggs Florentine with Cheddar béchamel and smoked paprika, a citrus-topped Omelette Royale with salmon roe and dill, or a Middle Eastern Omelette layered with garlicky yogurt and chilli sauce.
For starters, the menu leans fresh and indulgent in equal measure. Shrimp Rolls 'Terre et Mer' feature sesame-spiced beef and shrimp wrapped in crisp filo pastry, while the Crab Salad blends grapefruit, avocado, and coriander. The Cucumber Avocado Gazpacho offers a cooling, herbaceous option, and blinis arrive topped with smoked salmon or Oscietra caviar.
Signature mains include a lobster roll with lemon confit and lemongrass, a gourmet burger made with confit beef cheeks and truffle mayo, and two takes on the classic Croque Monsieur: traditional with Emmental cheese, or vegetarian with tomato pesto.
Ladurée's signature dessert flair is reinterpreted through its new milkshake collection - rose, vanilla, pistachio and chocolate - topped with Chantilly cream and macaron shells. Guests can also enjoy new plated desserts like pistachio crème brûlée or a fragrant brioche-based Um Ali with orange blossom.
The new savoury menu is now served across all Ladurée Arabia locations in the Kingdom, namely Laysen Valley (Riyadh), Riyadh Park (Riyadh), Solitaire Mall (Riyadh), Roshn Front (Riyadh), Kingdom Mall (Riyadh) and Fayfa (Jeddah).

Germany Spends €80 Mln on Border Controls

Israa Farhan Germany has spent €80.5 million on land border control operations between mid-September 2024 and the end of June 2025, according to figures released by the Federal Ministry of the Interior. The measures, initially introduced as a temporary exception to the Schengen Area's free movement rules, have since been repeatedly extended. The expenditure covers a wide range of costs, including €24 to €29.1 million per quarter for deploying federal police along internal borders. Between April and June 2025 alone, the government paid €8 million for meals and hotel accommodation for police officers, almost €3 million in allowances for working unsociable hours, €2.6 million for administrative and operational resources, and around €2 million for running border checkpoints. Overtime pay represented the largest single expense, amounting to €37.9 million during the period from September 2024 to June 2025. Former Interior Minister Nancy Faeser first imposed the land border checks in September 2024, citing the need to curb irregular migration and combat cross-border crime. Her successor, Alexander Dobrindt, intensified these measures upon taking office in May 2025, announcing further extensions beyond September this year and introducing a policy of turning away asylum seekers directly at the border. Between 8 May and 4 August 2025, federal police refused entry to 493 people who had expressed an intention to seek asylum in Germany. Critics, including opposition figures, have condemned the policy as unlawful and harmful to both travelers and asylum seekers. They argue that it creates traffic congestion in border regions, adds unnecessary burdens for regular cross-border commuters, and results in excessively high costs for the federal government. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid Videos & Features Story behind Trending Jessica Radcliffe Death Video News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt News The Jessica Radcliffe Orca Attack? 100% Fake and AI-Generated

Brazil Unveils $5.5 Bln Plan to Shield Exporters from Trump's Tariffs

Israa Farhan Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has announced a sweeping $5.5 billion relief package to support exporters reeling from punitive US tariffs of up to 50 per cent, imposed by President Donald Trump on a range of Brazilian goods. The plan allocates 20 billion reais (€4.7 billion) in credit to assist affected businesses, alongside measures to defer tax liabilities and incentivize domestic consumption of products originally destined for the American market. Lula urged resilience, asserting that crises are opportunities for innovation, while criticizing the US move as lacking legitimate grounds. Washington's latest trade offensive singles out Brazil with some of the highest levies imposed globally, a move Trump linked to the legal troubles of his ally and Brazil's former far-right president, Jair Bolsonaro. Bolsonaro, now under house arrest, faces allegations of plotting a coup following his 2022 electoral defeat. Lula accused the US of weaponizing human rights rhetoric to justify geopolitical disputes, asserting that Brazil's judiciary operates independently. Finance Minister Fernando Haddad condemned the tariffs as punitive measures against a nation 'more democratic than its aggressor.' Despite the tensions, Lula signaled no immediate plans to retaliate with higher tariffs on American imports, stressing a preference for diplomacy over confrontation. He reaffirmed Brazil's commitment to defending its sovereignty while maintaining constructive relations with Washington and neighboring states. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid Videos & Features Story behind Trending Jessica Radcliffe Death Video News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt News The Jessica Radcliffe Orca Attack? 100% Fake and AI-Generated
