Gaza Central Emergency Committee denies media reports of hundreds of trucks entering Rafah Crossing
Gaza – Saba: The Central Emergency Committee in the Gaza Strip today denied media statements issued by some official Egyptian entities claiming that hundreds of trucks had entered the Strip, along with extensive medical evacuations and urgent humanitarian services. In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the committee stressed that these reports 'do not reflect reality at all' and only contribute to misleading public opinion and 'beautifying a painful and severe failure' to meet even the minimum needs of the Strip. The committee clarified that the reported numbers 'do not exist on the ground,' and the talk of hundreds of trucks entering daily through the Rafah crossing 'is baseless and inconsistent with the field observations of Gaza municipalities.' It further noted that medical evacuations are being exaggerated in media statements, while in reality, they cover only a very small percentage of the wounded and sick and are carried out through 'complicated and slow mechanisms that resemble collective humiliation.' 'There are tens of thousands of patients and wounded, including children and those with critical disabilities, still left to face their fate in scenes history will be ashamed to document,' the committee said. It added that recent Egyptian statements about so-called 'efforts to alleviate suffering' are essentially an attempt to justify 'failure to fulfill a humanitarian, moral, and Arab duty toward the people of Gaza, who are living through a complete catastrophe.' 'There is no clean water, no electricity, no functioning infrastructure, no sufficient food for children, the sick, and the displaced, and cemeteries are overflowing with the bodies of innocents,' the committee stated. The committee called on Egyptian authorities for the immediate and unconditional opening of the Rafah crossing to allow the entry of essential aid and life-saving supplies and to end the 'complex and humiliating coordination' that obstructs the entry of ambulances, medical supplies, and the fuel needed to operate generators. It also demanded the publication of real figures for those entering and exiting Gaza through Rafah instead of 'creating the illusion of solidarity,' and called for a true assumption of Arab national responsibility instead of 'issuing media statements that neither feed the hungry nor save the wounded.' 'We refuse to be used as cover for statements that distort the truth and will not remain silent in the face of this organized betrayal of a besieged people being exterminated in full view of the world,' the committee declared. The statement concluded: 'It is time for Egypt—with all its weight and stature—to move from the logic of 'neutral mediation' to a decisive moral position alongside stricken Gaza, as this is its natural place, its national duty, and the role Palestinians and all Arabs expect of it.' Gov't media: Malnutrition kills 66 children so far
Gaza - Saba: The government media office in Gaza announced on Saturday that the number of children killed as a result of malnutrition has risen to 66, due to the closure of crossings, the tightening of the blockade, and the prevention of the entry of milk, nutritional supplements, and food. In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the office expressed deep concern and condemnation over the rising number of children killed as a result of severe malnutrition, reaching 66 children. This is due to the continued closure of crossings by the Zionist enemy and the prevention of the entry of baby milk and nutritional supplements intended for vulnerable and vulnerable groups, especially infants and the sick. The office stated that this behavior constitutes a war crime and a crime against humanity, revealing the deliberate use of starvation by the "Israeli" enemy as a weapon to exterminate civilians, especially children, in flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions. The office strongly condemned this ongoing crime against childhood in the Gaza Strip, denouncing the shameful international silence regarding the suffering of children who are left to suffer from hunger, disease, and slow death. The office held the "Israeli" enemy fully responsible for this catastrophe, and held the countries supporting and complicit in the crime of genocide, primarily the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, responsible for their active participation in these grave violations. He called on the international community, the United Nations, and Arab and Islamic countries to urgently intervene and pressure the enemy to open the crossings immediately, allow food and medical supplies to enter, and save the remaining children and patients before it is too late.
