Reborn Rich Season 2 confirmed without Song Joong Ki after Bogotá Flop: Squid Game Star Lee Jung Jae's company to lead production
Reborn Rich Season 2: The hit revenge drama Reborn Rich is officially returning for a second season. On May 8, Artist Company and its affiliate production firm, Artist Studio, announced that they have entered the planning and development stages for Reborn Rich Season 2. However, lead actor Song Joong Ki, who headlined the first season, will not return. Instead, the new season will feature fresh characters and a new storyline.
Reborn Rich season 2 will follow a global storyline
Unlike season 1, which focused on a time-travel revenge plot within a chaebol family, Reborn Rich Season 2 will shift its focus to a global stage. The drama will follow the ambitions of new characters as they chase success, power, and love in the world of international corporations.
Lee Jung Jae's Artist Company to lead production
Season 2 will be co-produced by Artist Company and Artist Studio, collectively known as Artist Group. Actor Lee Jung Jae, known for his role in Netflix's hit survival thriller Squid Game, is a major shareholder in Artist Company. This marks the first official collaboration between the management agency and its affiliated production arm. Artist Company will oversee planning and development, while Artist Studio handles IP and production responsibilities.

No return for Song Joong Ki in Reborn Rich season 2
Song Joong Ki, who played Yoon Hyun Woo and Jin Do Joon in Reborn Rich, will not be reprising his role. Season 2 will not continue his character's arc but will instead build a fresh story around a new lead.
The series follows Yoon Hyun Woo, a devoted senior employee at the powerful Soonyang Group, who is betrayed and killed by a family member trying to conceal a massive tax evasion scandal.
Song Joong Ki's recent roles spark mixed reactions
In recent years, Song Joong Ki has taken on ambitious projects like Space Sweepers, Vincenzo, Reborn Rich, and Bogotá: City of the Lost. He's deliberately moved away from romantic dramas and tried to embrace more complex, darker roles. But the response hasn't always been glowing. Bogotá, in particular, was a massive flop both critically and commercially, which had many questioning his star power.

The previous season ended with a cliffhanger after Player 456's attempt to challenge the game's creators didn't succeed. Now, everyone is eager to see what happens in the next instalment. Ahead of the release, cast members Lee Byung-hun, Park Sung-hoon, Lee Jung-jae and Kang Ae-sim, along with director Hwang Dong-hyuk, gathered to watch the new trailer and share their thoughts on it. One surprising moment was when T.O.P, who played Thanos in season 2, appeared with the other cast members. Reacting to the trailer, Lee Byung-hun, who plays Front Man, said, 'Wow, so handsome. Why do I look so sad? I think there will be people who get their questions answered by watching this trailer." Park Sung-hoon added, 'The trailer is more desperate, violent and heavy than season 2." Director Hwang Dong-hyuk shared the most insightful moments from Squid Game season 3. He said, 'The Mingle song was a big hit in season 2, so I put this jump rope song here as another attempt to make another hit song for season 3. There's a game set in the streets with a starry sky. I think that it's the most dramatic and impactful game from all seasons. Fans should prepare themselves before watching this game. It's funny to say it looks fun when I created the show. It's a well made trailer without revealing too much, but it contains all the elements from season 3 that invite curiosity and expectations. You'll see things that are beyond your expectations, which I promise fans with confidence." T.O.P's appearance added to the mystery about his potential return. His brother, Jun-ho, is still trying to find the hidden island where the games take place. But what he doesn't know is that someone close to him may be working against him. As the games go on, Gi-hun has to figure out what to do next. Lee Jung Jae's Squid Game 3 will be ‘darker' and more brutal than Season 2, director says ‘cruel fate' awaits players
As anticipation builds for the release of Squid Game Season 3 on Netflix, fans are getting a chilling glimpse into what lies ahead. The global phenomenon, starring Lee Jung Jae, is gearing up for its much-awaited finale and recent teasers have only fueled excitement further. Director Hwang Dong Hyuk has offered a sneak peek into the upcoming season, describing it as a darker chapter. Viewers can expect a twisted world where survival isn't just physical; it's psychological. Joining him, art director Chae Kyoung Sun shared insight into the revamped set designs. Director Hwang teases darker final season Director Hwang Dong Hyuk, who masterminded the franchise's global success, has expressed his creative vision for the final season. As quoted by Soompi, 'Season 3 will be darker and more brutal than Season 2, but at the same time, quite clever and humorous,' he revealed. He explained, 'I wanted to show a sense of childhood mixed with the bleak situations the characters face, their moral dilemmas, and the cruel fates that await them.' Through Squid Game, the director sought to raise fundamental questions: Do we still possess humanity? And if we do, is that humanity strong enough to change the world for the better? Design that tells a story Art director Chae Kyoung Sun shared new insights about the set design for Season 3. This season's thematic design introduces imagery inspired by poisonous plants - a metaphor for beauty hiding danger. 'I saw evil, like cruelty and violence, as poison. So I used different colors to represent poisonous plants when designing the VIP room,' she revealed. From the lavish decor to the subtle color schemes, viewers will notice elements that hint at deceit, danger, and psychological manipulation. Chae noted that 'If Season 1 showed the law of the jungle with a grassland theme, Season 3 boldly creates a space using bright but dangerous poisonous plants in its design.' About Squid Game Season 3 The upcoming season will continue the gripping story of Seong Gi Hun, the reluctant hero portrayed by Lee Jung Jae. He reenters the game not to win, but to confront and dismantle the terrifying system that destroyed countless lives. This time, the stakes are deeply personal. Opposing him is the cold and calculating Front Man. The role is played by Lee Byung Hun, whose mysterious motives are set to unravel further as the series reaches its climax. This final chapter promises not only to wrap up lingering mysteries but also to push its characters (and viewers) to their emotional and ethical limits. With its premiere set for June 27, Squid Game 3 is shaping up to be a haunting and thought-provoking end to one of Netflix's most successful series.

Fortnite x Squid Game collab set to shake up creative mode with deadly challenges
Image via Fortnite Twitter Fortnite is taking its latest crossover into a darker, more competitive arena as it teams up with Netflix's global phenomenon Squid Game for a brand-new experience set to launch on June 27. Unlike previous high-profile collaborations, this one won't be part of the main Battle Royale mode, but will instead live within Fortnite's Creative universe - giving players the power to recreate, design, and survive the game's infamous challenges. Squid Game comes to creative mode Announced during the 2025 State of Unreal presentation, the collaboration introduces Squid Game assets to the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), enabling creators to build custom islands inspired by the show's brutal games. From 'Red Light, Green Light' to the iconic Glass Bridge, these fan-favorite tests of survival will now get the Epic Games stamp of approval, allowing for deeper immersion and greater authenticity. Over the past few years, community-made Squid Game maps - such as sundaycw's wildly popular 'Octo Game 2,' have gained traction among Creative players. However, these maps were based on fan interpretation. With official tools and show-accurate designs entering the mix, creators now have more firepower than ever to bring the twisted world of Squid Game to life inside Fortnite. What's also fuelling buzz is the speculation around whether the collaboration will remain limited to Creative mode. Fortnite's Competitive X account chimed in on the teaser post, sparking theories that the crossover could bleed into competitive tournaments or limited-time modes. Though nothing has been confirmed, the idea of players battling for V-Bucks - or even real money, in Squid Game-style events has fans intrigued. There's also curiosity around cosmetics. While Epic Games has yet to confirm the release of Squid Game-themed skins, many expect that Pink Guard outfits, contestant tracksuits, and themed emotes will soon hit the Item Shop - a familiar pattern following collaborations with franchises like The Walking Dead and Fall Guys. The crossover has already stirred mixed reactions online. While some fans hailed it as 'the most peak collab to date,' others called Squid Game 'overrated' or questioned Fortnite's recent creative direction. Still, with its official rollout just weeks away, the collaboration promises to offer players a gripping new way to engage with both franchises. Whether you're in it to survive, build, or simply collect cosmetics, Fortnite's dive into Squid Game territory marks a bold gamble - and one the community will be watching very closely.
