‘Task' trailer: Mark Ruffalo–Tom Pelphrey showdown in HBO crime drama
Set in the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia, Task follows Tom (Mark Ruffalo), an FBI agent leading a special unit investigating a series of violent home invasion robberies. The crimes are linked to Robbie (Tom Pelphrey), a seemingly ordinary family man who becomes deeply entangled in a dangerous criminal enterprise.
The trailer, backed by Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here, hints at the show's central moral tensions. Robbie, attempting to justify his actions, declares, 'I'm gonna take their money so we can have a better life,' while Tom and his team scramble to prevent a violent turf war. 'It's easy to talk about forgiveness and mercy when it's not your loss,' the trailer opens.
The ensemble cast includes Martha Plimpton as FBI supervisory senior resident Kathleen McGinty, alongside Emilia Jones, Jamie McShane, Sam Keeley, Thuso Mbedu, Fabien Frankel, Alison Oliver, Raúl Castillo, Silvia Dionicio, and Phoebe Fox.
Ingelsby, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer, draws again on the gritty, character-driven storytelling that defined Mare of Easttown. The series is directed and executive produced by Jeremiah Zagar and Salli Richardson-Whitfield.
The series will roll out weekly following its September premiere.

FBI nabs Bishnoi's close aide linked to Nadir Shah murder
New Delhi: In a significant breakthrough, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are learnt to have apprehended Randeep Malik, a key member of the Lawrence Bishnoi-Goldy Brar syndicate, in the US. Malik had been operating from the US, allegedly orchestrating killings on Bishnoi's instructions. He was wanted in connection with the high-profile Nadir Shah murder case in Delhi, as well as the grenade blasts outside clubs in Gurgaon and Chandigarh a few months ago. Malik was picked up from his rented accommodation and is being held at the Jackson Parish Correctional Center in Louisiana, according to sources. "FBI has shared the arrest information with Indian agencies, marking a significant step in international cooperation against organised crime. The process for his extradition will begin soon," a source said. You Can Also Check: Delhi AQI | Weather in Delhi | Bank Holidays in Delhi | Public Holidays in Delhi | Gold Rates Today in Delhi | Silver Rates Today in Delhi The development is expected to have implications for Bishnoi's operation and network. Malik's interrogation is expected to open a can of worms, particularly in the Nadir Shah case, in which Delhi Police's Special Cell came under the scanner for their suspicious activity during and before the killing. Shah, a Dubai-based entrepreneur, was shot dead outside his gym in Greater Kailash-I in Aug last year. The alleged plotter was Malik, who acted on instructions from Lawrence Bishnoi , Goldy Brar and Hashim Baba. "The shooters waited outside the gym, but grew impatient when Shah didn't emerge. In a calculated move, Malik called Shah just five minutes before the murder, asking him to step out of the gym to meet someone. The plan worked, and the shooters fired a dozen shots, killing Shah on the spot," said a source. Just one week before the murder, cops from the counter-intelligence unit met Shah at a farmhouse for a "sensitive probe". Moreover, a day before the murder, the DCP and ACP of the Special Cell were in the vicinity of Shah's gym, and many other Special Cell personnel were present in the area at the time of the murder. Despite this, the Special Cell was allowed to continue investigating the case, sparking concerns about a potential cover-up or prior knowledge of the impending crime. The sequence of events suggested serious lapses, leaving the cell under scrutiny. Malik was engaged in the transport business in the US for the past nine years. He owns two truck-trolleys — he drives one and had a driver for the other. Police said Malik came in contact with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang after he went abroad. Malik is originally from Anchla Kalan village in Jind's Safidon. "He has a sister, whose wedding he watched live from the US. His parents live alone in the village, and almost all the villagers have distanced themselves from him," a dossier on him reads. The first FIR was registered against Malik in 2011 at Kurukshetra police station in a case of extortion and intimidation. He was later wanted in several cases, including by NIA. Malik was working closely with Brar in the US, coordinating the killings and arranging logistics for their henchmen using Signal application, police said. Margot Robbie To NOT Return As Harley Quinn? Superman Director James Gunn's BIG Reveal
James Gunn teases Margot Robbie's return as Harley Quinn amidst DC overhaul. Gunn hints at plans for Idris Elba's Bloodsport. James Gunn is keeping fans guessing when it comes to Margot Robbie's return as Harley Quinn. The Barbie star has become synonymous with the chaotic charm of Harley Quinn, having portrayed the anti-heroine in three major DC films: 2016's Suicide Squad, 2020's Birds of Prey, and 2021's The Suicide Squad. But as the DC Universe undergoes a major overhaul under Gunn's leadership, Robbie's future in the franchise remains uncertain. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Gunn – who now serves as CEO and Co-Chairman of DC Studios – was asked directly whether Robbie would reprise her role. He teased: 'That will be revealed down the line." While Gunn remained tight-lipped about Harley, he did hint at plans for another Suicide Squad alum: Idris Elba's Bloodsport, adding: 'I definitely am always looking for a place to put Bloodsport and figuring that out. So we'll see what happens." Robbie, meanwhile, has kept busy outside the superhero realm, earning critical acclaim and box office success with Barbie, which became a cultural phenomenon in 2023. Robbie is now in talks to star in Tim Burton's Attack Of The Fifty Foot Woman remake. The 35-year-old actress is being considered for the lead role in the 66-year-old filmmaker's upcoming movie for Warner Bros and she would also produce the film through her LuckyChap production company, according to The Insneider. The original 1958 classic is a science-fiction horror story which follows a wealthy heiress who grows into a giant after an alien encounter and goes on to take revenge on her cheating husband. It was revealed last year that Burton would direct and produce the remake, with Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn writing the script. Andrew Mittman and Tommy Harper are also producing with Kai Dolbashian as executive producer. However, Variety reports that Flynn exited the project due to other commitments after writing a first draft of the screenplay and the producing team is currently searching for a new writer. Robbie's involvement would depend on the final version of the script. Robbie is also set to produce the Ocean's prequel through her LuckyChap Entertainment banner and will also star in the movie alongside her Barbie castmate Ryan Gosling. FBI arrests key associate of Lawrence Bishnoi gang in US
Chandigarh, Aug14 (UNI) Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has arrested Randeep Singh, also known as Randeep Malik, a key associate of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, in the United States. Malik, who is from Jind, Haryana, is accused of masterminding several high-profile crimes in India on Bishnoi's instructions while living abroad. He's currently being held at the Jackson Parish Correctional Center. The FBI has shared details of the arrest with Indian authorities, which could help dismantle the Bishnoi gang's operations. Malik is particularly wanted for his alleged role in the murder of Nadir Shah, a gym owner in Delhi's Greater Kailash-1 on September 12, 2024. According to a Delhi Police chargesheet, 'Malik allegedly arranged the supply of weapons from the US for the killing, which was planned by Lawrence Bishnoi via a video call with gangster Hashim Baba, who is lodged in Tihar Jail, while Bishnoi himself is incarcerated in Sabarmati Jail, Gujarat.' Additionally, Malik is implicated in orchestrating bomb blasts outside nightclubs in Chandigarh and Gurugram. On November 26, 2024, explosions targeted Seville Bar and Lounge, owned by singer Badshah, and De'Orra Club in Chandigarh's Sector-26. Similar attacks occurred on December 10, 2024, outside the Warehouse Club and Human Club in Gurugram's Sector-29. The responsibility for these attacks was claimed by Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara, associates of the Bishnoi gang. Investigations revealed that Malik coordinated these attacks by providing instructions to shooters named Vinay and Ajit via the Signal app and arranging the bombs. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against Malik, Goldy Brar, and others in connection with these bombings. His arrest marks a major breakthrough in the ongoing crackdown on the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, known for its involvement in extortion, murders, and other criminal activities across India. UNI NB MI AAB
