He added, 'Seldom was I called to his sets, so I was surprised. He informed me that there were some issues that were uncontrollable, and there were some repercussions on his personal life. He requested me to take a decision on how to move further. I can't remember the exact words, but it was about having either him or Priyanka in the movie.'
Darshan also revealed, 'It's not about him not wanting to work with Priyanka Chopra. Circumstances had reached a point… The public, the media did mention a relationship, which the wife got to know of. But suddenly, after making me wait for 18 months, to say that I can't be a part of the film, I was shocked… He did want to compensate by saying he'd do the next film with me, but I just thought it was unbelievable, coming from Akshay.'
On Deepika Padukone's 8-hour shift demand
The producer should first take from her in writing that for the 8 hours she is on the set, she will be giving shots. Instead of 8 if she even gives shots for 4 hours, the producer will touch her feet in gratitude," Suneel told IANS.
Calling Deepika's demand 'unreal', he added, 'I believe one should work only with those people who love your film more than you."
He reminded the Fighter actress that nobody is irreplaceable and shared, 'There was a time when Deepika was not a part of the industry. You will be able to find several new talents."

Made for Rs 7 crore, earned Rs 65 crore, Akshay Kumar's upcoming film is a remake of this 9-year-old blockbuster, actors are..., movie name is...

After a gap of 17 years, Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar are set to share screen space once again. According to reports, Priyadarshan will direct Haivan, with filming expected to begin in August. This time, Akshay will shed his hero image to play a menacing villain, while Saif will take on the role of a blind man — but one who's an expert in the ancient martial art, Kalari Payattu. Where have we seen this story before? Not many know that Haivan is the official Hindi remake of the 2016 Malayalam hit Oppam, also directed by Priyadarshan. Starring Mohanlal, the original was made on a modest budget of Rs 7 crore but went on to earn Rs 65 crore, becoming the third-highest-grossing Malayalam film of that year. The Hindi dubbed version, Prime Witness, had a limited theatrical run but received a positive response from audiences. What's the plot of Oppam? The story revolves around a retired judge trying to protect his daughter from a criminal he once sentenced. When the judge is murdered, his trusted aide, a visually impaired man, takes on the responsibility of safeguarding her from the killer. The film's gripping narrative earned it over 22 awards, including Best Film, Best Actor, and Best Director. It remains freely available on YouTube, where thousands have revisited its tense storytelling. Why is Haivan already in the buzz? With Priyadarshan reuniting with both Akshay and Saif, and with a proven hit story at its core, Haivan has all the makings of a high-stakes action thriller. The unusual character arcs, a blind martial arts expert and a ruthless antagonist promise something different from the usual Bollywood fare.

Priyanka Chopra Drops Cryptic Note With Rekha's Image: 'Better Be A B*tch Than A Bichari'

Their shared moment of onscreen collaboration in Krrish left a lasting impact on Priyanka. Priyanka Chopra has taken to her Instagram Stories to share a cryptic note, which says that she'd rather be bold than helpless. The actress is no stranger to sharing quotes on memes on her Instagram Stories, and this particular post has caught everyone's attention now, as many believe that the post used Rekha's image. The post shared by Priyanka Chopra read, 'Better a Bitch than a Bitchari." However, what caught everyone's attention was the artwork of the post. The artist seemingly used a rendering of an image of Bollywood legend Rekha in her famous golden headgear. Have a look here: Priyanka Chopra has long been a fan of Rekha. Earlier this year, Rekha was seen at Priyanka Chopra's brother's wedding. Their shared moment of onscreen collaboration in Krrish (2006) left a lasting impact on Priyanka. In 2024, she marked Rekha's 70th birthday on Instagram Stories, calling her an 'icon" and 'fabulous," accompanied by a heartfelt red-heart emoji. The bond between the two extends beyond social media. At the 2012 IIFA Awards, Priyanka performed a vibrant tribute to Rekha—dancing to her iconic numbers like 'In Aakhon Ki Masti Ke", 'Salaam‑e‑Ishq Meri Jaan", 'Pyar Do Pyar Lo", and 'Pardesiya". The emotional highlight came when Rekha herself joined Priyanka on stage. Adding another layer, filmmaker Suneel Darshan once said that upon meeting Priyanka, he saw in her a spark of Rekha's presence. Meanwhile, on the work front, Priyanka Chopra was last seen in Heads of State. Directed by Ilya Naishuller, it is a globe-trotting buddy comedy starring Idris Elba as British Prime Minister Sam Clarke and John Cena as U.S. President Will Derringer. Priyanka Chopra Jonas plays MI6 agent Noel Bisset, swiftly becoming the film's most dynamic presence. Armed, clever, and emotionally connected to Elba's character, she brings both firepower and heart to the ensemble. Priyanka Chopra's next big Hollywood release is The Bluff, produced by the Russo Brothers' AGBO Productions and directed by Frank E. Flowers. In this 19th‑century Caribbean swashbuckler, she plays a former female pirate who must defend her family and village during a brutal attack, only to have her mysterious past resurface. The actress is also shooting for her Indian film, directed by SS Rajamouli and co-starring Mahesh Babu.
