Hopeful Fans Are Theorizing Angelina Jolie's New Hair Color May Have to Do With Returning to This Role
Angelina Jolie is no stranger to experimenting with her hair, from long, luscious brunette waves to a pixie cut that people still recreate decades later. In the past year, she's gone blonde, and in the past few weeks, has gone even blonder into almost white, platinum hair. Despite being born a dark blonde, she's fully embracing the lighter side of hair colors, and it has fans in a frenzy.
Now, before we get into it, this is just what fans are hoping for, not what's happening. But who knew that the internet had so many theories about Jolie's new hair?!

It all started when, earlier this week, an X account reposted a photo of Jolie's light blonde hair while attending the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. They posted it with the caption reading, 'and when she's blonde because she's secretly filming scenes for avengers doomsday as thena, then what???'
For context: Jolie played Thena in the 2021 Marvel movie called The Eternals, where her character was an elite warrior Eternal. The film received mixed reviews from critics and viewers alike, but did gain a cult following in recent years.
Marvel Boss Kevin Feige did say in the summer of 2024 that a sequel for Eternals wasn't on the horizon.
According to IMDb, Jolie has three projects on the horizon: Maleficent 3, Maude v Maude, and Couture, as well as a movie alongside Aimee Lou Wood called Anxious People, per Deadline. So it's unclear if the blonde was for an upcoming role.
Now, back to Marvel: when this X account posted that theory, it gained traction so quickly, with many other hopeful fans chiming in. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to be released on May 1, 2026, as part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And as many Marvel fans know, the Avengers movies bring a lot of characters together. And let's face it, Marvel always finds a way to bring back characters we thought were dead or unable to come back.
So, while this is just a fun fan theory, it has people thinking!

Sydney Sweeney has become more "guarded" since shooting to fame. She explained: "I have to be like, I want to be in the room, I want to sit in every single meeting and want to be involved in every decision, I want to be taken seriously as a producer. "I'm very direct, I'm very blunt ... To be honest, actually, I always find that it's the women who give me the hardest time ... "I see it all the time [in auditions] where they don't think I am right for [a role] because they watched [her character] Cassie in 'Euphoria'. "Especially because Cassie was such a sexualised character - that puts a wall up for people. I feel like I'm constantly having to be like, no, no, I'm an actor, I'm supposed to be different characters." It comes after Sydney - who now has her own production company, Fifty-Fifty Films - admitted the entertainment industry is tough, but she continues to be fascinated by it. She told Empire: "This industry is so fascinating. There are so many chats, pieces and moves to make, and I find that really exhilarating. "It's constantly changing. I love acting, but being able to step outside of that and then see how everything comes together, and understand what every crew member needs and what it takes to get a project from imagination to conception ... "When people see it in the theatres or on screen, it's been a really long, hard process, but I love it."
